New York Times Ombudsman Investigating Errors in Rep. Issa Story

The New York Times public editor is reviewing Rep. Darrell Issa’s request for a front-page retraction to a story with as many as 13 errors, according to Issa’s office. Meanwhile, the reporter and editor responsible for the story broke their silence after nearly a week of criticism from the California Republican. “Congressman Issa’s office forwarded us the request for retraction that was sent last evening to Times editors, so we will have to review it like we do any other complaint we receive,” Joseph Burgess, assistant to the Times’s public … More

Don’t Buy Politico’s False Choice on Nuclear Power

One of the repeating story lines the lamestream media is looking to advance for the 112th Congress is the fictional contradiction between Tea Party small government convictions and the necessity of big government intervention to cause economic growth. Today’s contribution comes from Politico’s Darius Dixon who asks, “Can the tea party go nuclear?” The premise of the piece is that conservative plans to jump start nuclear power plant construction conflict with Tea Party plans to shrink the size and role of the federal government since today’s nuclear power industry is … More

Morning Bell: Victory In Afghanistan Is No Excuse For Raising Taxes

Speaking to the press after reports that the White House will send 34,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, President Barack Obama said, “it is my intention to finish the job.” While we wish Obama would have definitively said “I will finish the job” instead of just expressing his intent to try, his sentiments were far more preferable than those of the leftist majorities in Congress who chose the opportunity to threaten the American people with even more taxes, should they support winning the war in Afghanistan. Specifically, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told The … More

    Tax Terrorists, Not Americans

As President Obama pondered anew his strategy for winning the war on terror in Afghanistan, the antiwar crowd unleashed an odd new tactic to force a retreat: a tax. Not a new tax on the terrorists which, while obviously uncollectible, would at least be properly targeted. And, thankfully not a new tax on the men and women leading the fight. The far left, as explained by Senator Levin in a November 20 interview on Bloomberg Television, is targeting Americans making more than $250,000 with a new surtax. As with most … More

Video Desecrating American Flag is Obama Team’s Finalist

We have regularly reported on President Obama’s perpetual campaign organization, Organizing for America (OFA), and the need for him to abandon this campaign and move on to leading the nation. OFA is an off shoot of the Democratic National Committee, operating under the website www.BarackObama.com, and it is explicitly designed to maintain the President’s 2008 campaign into 2012.  It is headed by some of the President’s closest political advisors, including David Plouffe and Mitch Stewart. In August, the Heritage Foundation uncovered an invitation to an OFA event which likened conservatives to “domestic … More
