Obamacare was pushed into law with the hope that the more Americans learned about it, the more they would like it. That has not happened. Americans remain strongly opposed to the health law and its expansion of the role of government in their lives. The more they learn about the law, the less they like it and the more they search for an alternative, like Heritage’s Saving the American Dream proposal, that empowers patients, reduces costs, and ensures access.

You’d think that billions of dollars in government spending would be hard to hide, especially from the Members of Congress who voted for it. Think again. Judge Vinson issued a new order in response to a bizarre and obtuse “motion to clarify” that the Department of Justice … More

    Yet Another New Obamacare Bureaucracy

Once again, Obamacare shows that, when it comes to health care reform, the saying “Hey, it’s the thought that counts” just doesn’t cut it. Proponents of the new law argue that its stringent insurance regulations will help consumers, but these new regulations also threaten some existing employer-sponsored plan arrangements. To … More

Governors to Congress: We Could Do Better If Washington Got Out of the Way

On Tuesday, the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing to explore the impact of Obamacare on the states and the federal roadblocks to state-based reforms. House Hearing: Obamacare Threatens American Medical Innovation

In his State of the Union address, President Obama emphasized the need to focus on innovation, job creation, and global competitiveness as part of a strategy to “win the future.” Unfortunately, by signing Obamacare into law, the White House has endangered these very things. Until now, the United States has … More
