Andrew Breitbart is no stranger to controversy. Known by many on the left and the right for his work exposing ACORN and his network of popular conservative websites, Breitbart has seen firsthand the role media can have in influencing public opinion. This subject, along with many others, form the basis of his new book, Righteous Indignation. He traveled to The Heritage Foundation last week and sat down with us before his speech to discuss his new book, the power of media and the continued impact of the Tea Party.

    Heritage Foundation 661,000 Members Strong

There is a hunger in America for conservative principles and policies, as the explosive growth in Heritage Foundation membership demonstrates. Today, we have more than 661,000 active members. Over the past year and a half, traditional American values have been put through the ringer. The liberals in Washington are working quickly and persistently to diminish principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom and a strong national defense – all conservative principles. But their progressive ways have met an obstacle: the American public.  And it’s more conservative than they thought. … More

In the Green Room: David Goldhill on How American Health Care Killed His Father

David Goldhill is President and CEO of the Game Show Network and has run numerous businesses during his career. When his father died of  a hospital-borne infection two years ago he began researching the entire U.S. health care system, analyzing it with the keen eye of a businessman. What he learned is that intermediaries like insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid distort a system that is supposed to provide health care to individuals into one that serves faceless and, largely, uncaring bureaucracies. Case in point: 100,000 people die every year in America … More

Heritage Foundation Mourns Loss of Former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung

It is with the deepest personal sadness that Mrs. Feulner and I have learned of the passing of our esteemed friend President Kim Dae-jung. It is a profoundly sad day for the Republic of Korea. President Kim was a truly historic figure. South Korea’s passage from authoritarian rule to democracy is a testament to his tireless advocacy despite years of persecution. From my early meetings with him when he was living in exile in Washington, to many meetings with him in the Blue House, and on his visits to the … More
