Analysis – After unveiling her 1,990 page health care bill late this week, Speaker Pelosi hopes to have the bill on the House floor by Thursday with work possibly going into Saturday or even into the following week to finish consideration of the legislation. A manager’s amendment is expected to be introduced on Monday with additional details. However, no one is exactly sure how this will play out or if the Speaker has the necessary votes to pass the legislation. You can bet this will dominant the discussion in Washington. …
Several weeks ago we received a letter from Chairman Henry Waxman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee requesting information concerning our economic modeling of H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act. House Analysis – All eyes are on the Senate next week as they continue their work in committee on health care and cap and trade. The House is expected to have a light legislative week once again with no votes on Monday. The House will continue to try and wrap up several appropriations bills including Agriculture and Homeland Security.
