President Obama has been awarded a dishonorable distinction: “Lie of the Year” from a usually left-leaning fact-checking website.

PolitiFact declared today that the President’s now-infamous Obamacare claim, “If you like your plan, you can keep it,” topped its list of 2013 falsehoods.

“As cancellation letters were going out to approximately 4 million Americans, the public realized Obama’s breezy assurances were wrong,” wrote PolitiFact’s Angie Drobnic Holan.

People have written to Heritage with their stories of policies getting cancelled.

This may be one point where different sides of the political spectrum can agree. As Holan said, “The debate about the health care law rages on, but friends and foes of Obamacare have found one slice of common ground: The president’s ‘you can keep it’ claim has been a real hit to his credibility.”
