  • Reckless Government Spending Isn't Funny, But This New Sitcom Is

Do you think the federal government spends too much money?

The answer is pretty obvious — and not a laughing matter.

But the group Bankrupting America found a way to poke fun at the issue of “spend it or lose it” budgeting — the concept that agencies are rewarded for spending their entire budget by the end of the year in return for even more money in the future.

Watch the pilot episode of a multi-part web series called “The Government.” It tracks the office life of a government agency, which doesn’t seem to have your best interests — or tax dollars — in mind.
