  • Watch: "Honor Flight" Filmmakers at The Bloggers Briefing

This summer the documentary “Honor Flight“ drew an audience of 28,422 to Milwaukee’s Miller Park, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening ever. It was later submitted to the Academy Awards for Best Documentary. Tomorrow at the Bloggers Briefing we’ll hear from Dan Hayes and Clay Broga, the two filmmakers who put together the feature-length documentary about four World War II veterans and a Midwest community coming together to give them the trip of a lifetime. There are four special event screenings coming up in the D.C. area:

Tuesday, Nov. 27 (tomorrow): National Press Club. Get tickets.
Tuesday, Dec. 4: U.S. Capitol. Get tickets.
Friday, Dec. 7 (Pearl Harbor Day): DAR Constitution Hall. Get tickets.
Saturday, Dec. 8: Byrd Theater in Richmond, VA. Get tickets.

In addition to discussing the movie, Dan and Clay will also talk about producing entertainment that challenges viewers to think about freedom and opportunity, and using emotion and storytelling to reach more people – and reach them in powerful ways.

Following their presentation, we’ll shift gears as attorneys Per Ramfjord and Michael Kelly preview next week’s Supreme Court case, Georgia-Pacific West v. Northwest Environmental Defense Center. It’s considered one of the biggest environmental cases to come before the court in years — one that Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) has said “would shut down forestry on private, state and tribal lands.”
