  • By the Numbers: Medicare Costs for Seniors to Rise Under President's Plan

Under current law, as amended by Obamacare, seniors enrolled in traditional Medicare can expect to face higher Part B and Part D premiums. Moreover, President Obama has planned in his 2013 budget proposal to increase income-related Part B and Part D premium coverage by 15 percent. As a result, out-of-pocket costs are expected to rise by 2017 under the president’s budget proposal.

Under Obama’s plan, “seniors will pay more — a lot more — and they will pay this steep price in many different ways,” Heritage’s Robert E. Moffit, Rea S. Hederman and Alyene Senger explain in a new paper analyzing the impact on seniors.

Americans may have diverse opinions on Medicare reform but what remains certain is that Medicare “as we know it” is already a thing of that past.

    1. The real truth behind Obamacare!

    2. Jeanne Stotler says:

The small increase in COLA for SS recipiants is going to be eaten up with an increase in Part B and supplement premiums, this happens just about any year. AARP is promotting their Ins. Co, which promotes a type of Insurance that OBamacare wants to convert to their use. I've been delugded with ads by them on how it'll save money, Monthly rates might be lower BUT their co-pays are high and you lose your ability to control your own medical care, MUST use their doctors and limit meds you can recieve, If you use another doctor you pay with no rebait. OBAMA wants to ruin heathcare for seniors

    3. Bobbie says:

wherever Obama promotes himself good or productive, is everywhere he leaves vulnerable.

I'd like to know why his citizen soldiers are nowhere helping sandy victims as the ad clearly states them as heroes and rescuers of destruction and disasters? Wonder what they're really up to?

The cost reductions in the Affordable Care Act are going to eat up a lot of money!
