  • Who's "Playing Politics with Our Military"?

Despite the disastrous defense cuts that are looming with sequestration, the two main players—President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D–NV)—see the situation as win-win.

Sequestration will hit several areas in government, but defense will eat the lion’s share: 47 percent of the cuts come from defense, considerably less than its 20 percent share of federal spending. Entitlements take a much smaller hit.

Nearly everyone in town, on a fairly bipartisan basis, sees the cuts as detrimental to the security of the nation. Republicans who signed the Budget Control Act (the genesis of the sequestration) are now saying they only did it because they were “sure” the cuts would never be put into effect. Even Democratic legislators are scratching their heads and looking for a solution. They know that sequestration will hurt the Department of Defense and do great damage to the defense industrial base.

What is a bit galling in its blatant disregard of reality is that now the President is adding gasoline to the partisan fire by saying that this is all happening because the Republicans are “playing politics with our military.”

The President has the chance to really be a statesman. He should bring in the leaders of the Congress and work with them to craft a solution that fixes the budget crisis without gutting our national security. He cannot do that by name-calling and holding completely inflexible positions.

Really, Mr. Obama, by observation the country can see who plays the politics while compensating America's/world liberties, safety and protection. Any attack from your opposition is rightful because we don't know you yet we wrongfully suffer the consequences your ultimatums put on us. All attacks alleged requires your refute as the results of the needless damage your work causes America, puts nothing past you! Your ideas are filled with avoidable contention, hardship and burden than productivity!

Obama forces compromise on the American principles democrats don't live up to or even recognize anymore. Part of the agenda to destroy only he's damaged alot in the name of democracy, taking the word out of context. "It's what the American people want." is not a trusting sentiment when it comes from someone in a high political office talking over people what he wants (unconstitutionally) while sheeple agrees "it's what the people want" without considering who the "people" are when it's none of us and highly improbable 99% of Americans "wanting" what the president claims "Americans want" in this diverse country! It's a deceiving line of manipulation democrats use at their cowardly convenience!
Quit pushing us! Stop abusing our troops with the uncertainties in government control! We're above it!

Integrity in leadership is above this administrations work ethic and below America's standard in leadership.

Obama has already gut the Army. He's has cut the army by 33 percent already, that over 1 million men. I know this because they are try to get rid of my son in law, who wants to serve his country and retire in 8 years. That wil be a total of 20 years of service to our country and he is fighting seperation and has been for 2 years.

      Obama.

    5. Jeff Scism says:

In the military you don't "qualify" for retirement until you serve 20 years active duty. If they can get you OUT before then they save themselves a LOT of money.
