  • Online Chat about the Federal Budget - LIVE NOW

Heritage recently released the 2012 Federal Budget in Pictures. It graphically illustrates  the direction our country is headed under current policies. Click here to join us right now for our “Lunch with Heritage” online chat. We are joined by Heritage’s Alison Fraser and she is taking your questions about the charts, the budget, the direction of the country, and how to change course.

Once in a while I come across Paul Krugman's articles and he has a habit of dropping statements along the lines of "reducing government spending is bad for the economy"–Huh? I even emailed him to ask him "what is the basis for your blank assertions, as if there is no debate about this" (no he didn't answer me). So I would like to ask my fellow conversatives, in the interest of understanding the other side of the argument so we can pick it apart…where does Paul Krugman get his leg to stand on? I know this is Keynesian–is there anything more to it and didn't we prove this wrong in the 80's? We need more detailed arguments here–shouting past each other at this point. Thanks! Carolyn

I don't care how many contorted ways some economist try to spin it you cannot spend more than you earn. If you borrow to maintain a higher standard of living (loans or credit cards) it takes forever to pay if off because the more you borrow the more interest you pay. Sooner or later you are paying interest and very little goes toward paying off the borrowed money. End result? Bankrupt and you lose everything.

Whar federal budget. We have not had a signed budget since 2008 and that is exactly the way the CHI-THUGS want it as it allows them to spend as they please. Causing the virtual destruction of the American financial structure. This is being done with grievous intent and is treasonous act as it violates NATIONAL SECURITY!

Big Government Is NOT the Answer

Your tax dollars are being spent on programs that we really don't need.
