We had nuclear power plant on Long Island. Safe, safe, safe the studies and proponents claimed. In case of a problem, all could be evacuated readily. Ha, Ha AFTER NOMINAL OPERATION TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT, IT WAS WISELY SHUT DOWN ,BUT WE ARE STILL PAYING FOR IT IN OUR ELECTRIC BILLS

my questions where not posted or answered on this chat forum today.

I was pointing out the obvious flaws in nuclear energy security. We only have 1 back up plan in place. In the event of a power outage, the nuclear reactor relys on diesel generators and water pumps to kool the reactor. Walmart has a better power back up system then our nuclear reactors do. Walmart utilizes Wind, Solar, and hydrogen fuel cells at many of their locations. We have none of the contigency plans at our nuclear sites.

I don't think we should be using nuclear energy until we know what to do with the waste. The spent fuel rods are being stored at the plants and must be kept under water. we were supposed to bury them in a cave in the mountains out west, but the states do not want them moved across their state lines for fear of an accident on the trip west. Also we don't know if they ever get there if some earthquake in the future might expose them. They will be dangerous for centuries to come.

Big Government Is NOT the Answer

Your tax dollars are being spent on programs that we really don't need.
