  • Morning Bell: Obama Keeps Turning His Back on Jobs

This week, President Obama is again set to make a pitch for his latest plan to stimulate the economy, but meanwhile he is turning his back on projects that would put tens or even hundreds of thousands of Americans to work. And he’s doing it all to appease his left-wing, environmentalist base at the expense of domestic energy production.

Heritage’s Rob Bluey reported last week on a new finding by a New Orleans-based group that the Obama administration is approving just 35 percent of the oil drilling plans for the Gulf of Mexico so far this year. It is also taking an average of 115 days — nearly four months — to secure approval from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement. Those numbers are a sharp drop from previous years, well below the historical average 73.4 percent approval rate and 61 days it takes to approve plans. And for plans that require drilling activity, the numbers are even worse with an average approval time of 222 days.

That’s bad news for job creation. One deepwater rig alone can create 700 jobs locally. But slowing down oil drilling in the Gulf isn’t the only way the President is blocking jobs. Earlier this month, the Obama Administration announced it would delay the construction of the $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline that would bring in more than 700,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to the Texas Gulf coast–and could have produced upwards of 20,000 jobs. Heritage’s Nicolas Loris explains the impact:

What this delay really means is that President Obama is putting off an important election year decision in which two of his largest supporters–labor unions and environmentalists–are split on the issue. This tactic allows the decision to be delayed until after the 2012 elections.

More importantly, this means a delay in access to easy imports from our northern neighbor, the creation of thousands of jobs, and the generation of revenue for the states where the pipeline passes. Montana, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas are collectively projected to collect $5.2 billion in property tax revenue as a result of building the pipeline.

As if that weren’t enough, the White House made another decision blocking energy-related jobs in the United States. In mid-November, the Obama Administration delayed a mineral lease sale in Ohio’s Wayne National Forest for oil and gas drilling. Apart for providing Americans access to affordable energy, the project could have had a tremendous impact in the state, including the creation of an estimated 200,000 jobs, an overall wage and personal-income boost of $12 billion by 2015, and a billion-dollar boon to Ohio landowners, schools, businesses, and communities.

The President’s direction on energy policy is aimed at appeasing a very specific base, but it’s coming at a tremendously high cost. While Americans struggle to make ends meet, pay their bills, and find work, President Obama is turning his back on new jobs and safe, affordable energy sources.

    1. Bo Picklesimer says:

Conservative prospective candidates should pick up the mantra as they promote their campaigns, "It is all about jobs, stupid."

    2. James Coleman says:

Why should we be surprised about these actions, Obama's only goal is re-election, he could care less about the prosperity of America. When will the we wake up and see that when he says he is looking out for the 99%, actually he is doing everything he can to hurt the 99%.

    3. mig says:

BY NOW, MOST EVERYONE KNOWS THAT O COMES FIRST IN ALL THINGS.
HIS ONLY THOUGHT IS HIMSELF ! He cares for self OVER USA.

    4. toledofan says:

Obama has had every opportunity to develop and implement a cohesive energy policy but has chosen otherwise; today is no different than yesterday and tomorrow will be no different, the last three years are a testament to his inaction. At the end of the day, until Obama and the Democrats are out of power nothing will change. If you look at the missed opportunities, it becomes clear that this is all by design; to keep America at her knnes depending on others for our existence. It's sad, when you look at our history and know we are the greatest nation on the face of the earth and to have a leader who basically thinks otherwise is a travesty.

    5. J. Dover says:

What business is it of the US government's where we do or do not drill for oil? Zero.
Take away their control. Otherwise, don't gripe.

    6. ThomNJ says:

This has nothing to do with jobs and has everything to do with obama's ideology. He promised during his campaigning that he was going to do his best to throttle the fossil fuels industry in any way he could. He is buying land or taking it by eminent domain and making it off-limits to drilling, etc. He is killing coal – as he most explicitly promised, and he is killing the Gulf drilling business. In the Gulf of Mexico he lost twice in the courts with the rejection of his drilling bans, but the Gulf states seem to have elected to take it rather than fight. He doesn't care about jobs, and the way to deal with him is to focus on his ideology………….but that seems to be just so politically incorrect these days!

      • Joseph J. Ruffino says:

You are correct. It surprises me that no one as moved to impeach him for not honor his pledge to protect the USA and honor the Constitution. It also surprises me that other than making the medical electronic machinery necessary for use in hospital's and other medical facilities, what does GE do for the benefit of the USA. Paying taxes is not one of them.

    7. vicki says:

Why can't we have a televised "ask Obama why" show so all of Americans can hear the questions put to him regarding why these jobs are out of the question. And why do you want more taxes – to give our taxes to another Solyndra? There are a lot of questions that should be asked point blank so all can hear his answers. Most Americans don't read Heritage and need to know the truth on these issues. Heritage, can you make that happen – a televised discussion with our commander in chief?

    8. Lloyd Scallan says:

Obama is not "turning his back on jobs", he is deliberately destroying jobs. His objective is to collapse our economical system in an effort to drive the people into accepting socialism. Lookig back, a few weeks after Obama anounced he would encourage more oil and gas exploration, his left radical environmental base went nuts. Then, out of the clear blue, the BP blow-out. But the most important fact to realize is the subsequent spill and damage was made much worse than it had to be to provide excuse and justification for what Obama is doing today. All to often the American people forget (with the help of the media). When we look back at just what Obama did and did not do after the blow-out, and the still unanswered reason the BOP failed, it's crystal clear that todays jobless problems are tied directly to Obama and his Marxist ideology.

      • Dwana townsend says:

I am from Lousiana and know that not all the facts have been exposed regarding the Oil Spill. BP was so greedy and wanted to capture the oil (at any cost to our environment). There were several ways this situation could have been handled differently and less oil in our gulf and marshes, but Obama let BP handle it!!! A thorough investigation needs to be done regarding our own Government involvement or lack of. You wouldn't believe the fraudlent claims that have been paid on this deal, I have seen it with my own eyes!
This is not only to appease his base, but it is also plays right into the hands of foreign oil suppliers. I wouldn't go so far as to say that all of these countries are our enemies but they are definately not our friends. Do the words National Security mean anything?

        • Lloyd Scallan says:

Dwana – I've lived in the New Orleans area most of my life. I worked in the oil patch for many years. What I saw Obama do after the blowout was purely criminal. From preventing foreign companies from skimming spill, to manipulating government agencies such as USCG to actually shut down local skimming operation for days for such foolish reasons as not enough life jackets onboard a barge. He employed the EPA and DOI to stop our locals from building berms to prevent the spill from
penatrating the interior marshes and beaches. But the absolute lies and distortions put out about
the reason the BOP failed in pure cover-up. That BOP hydralic system was compromised by someone which prevented the rams from cutting through the drill pipe thus stopping the flow. The question is who benefited the most by this failure? It sure as hell wasn't BP. Obama not only justified killing hundreds of throusands of jobs, but he also "redistriubted wealth" to his friends in those foreign countries by forcing us to continue to pay premium prices for their oil.

    9. Ldot says:

I wish the oil companies would ignore the Dicktator and EPA and go ahead and do what they must to put this country back to work and to secure energy dependency. I mean if the DOJ can ignore the subpoenas about Fast & Furious, Black Panthers, Solyndra, etc., then they shouldn't object when the people ignore them. They forget (as do many in DC) that they are merely Civil Servants and nothing more.

    10. Rose says:

It is a true reflection on the politics of these decisions that the states most affected (as well as the prevention of new job creation) are led by Republican governors.

    11. FlaJim says:

What many fail to recognize is that the boy in the White House doesn't want a vibrant economy or a re-invigorated middle class. His and and regime's aim is to make Americans dependent in he mistaken belief that they'll all start voting Democrat.

The problem with this thinking is that, as a foreigner, he doesn't understand that Americans don't think that way. We're not all clamoring for a government that is the sole provider and never have. As opposed to the many Euro-socialists, we like to stand on our own two feet and be the directors of our own destiny. We don't recognize central planning as a good thing but as a hindrance to our prosperity.

The regime has belatedly noticed that government can't create jobs, so they've abandoned that for nebulous concern about 'the economy.' Despite the fact that history shows we would have fully recovered from a recession two years ago without government meddling, the regime has turned it into a depression — just like one of the boy's heroes, FDR, accomplished. For the same ideology and 'solutions,' too.

    12. dam1953 says:

The issue is quite clear. Obama is pro-jobs. So long as those jobs are green and include union membership. All other hard working Americans can just as soon rot in hell as far as he is concerned. He has even abandoned the black community, expecting that they would never turn their backs on one of their own.

In summary, if you paid for his election, you get a rebate with acrued interest.

    13. doc-polymer says:

Canada will be shipping al of this oil to Asia. Selling the oil is in Canada's best interest and their leaders will take care of their country, unlike our leaders.

    14. Dr. Henry Sinopoli says:

What is really surprising is that the Republicans have been complicit for many years bringing us to this point. Boehner is an embarrassment to the Republican party, Specter was a mess and there are too many more to mention. I sincerely believe everything negative Heritage writes about Obama is well deserved, but don't think for one minute that our country could have sunk so low without the life-long Republican politicians going-along to get re-elected.

Living off the taxpayers is a pervasive disease that prevails in Washington, D.C.

      • Robert, TX says:

Bingo! I cannot name one instance where the republicans have taken us back one inch toward the Constitution, during the last 30 years. But I can think of hundreds of compromises and deals that allowed us to move miles and miles away from our Constitution.

    15. Frank says:

I would strongly recommend everyone read the book "Currency Wars" by James Rickards. We are now in the opening round of Currency War 3, since the turn of the 20th century. The USA started the last war with the Federal Reserve's Quantitative Easing (QE1 & QE2) of the world's reserve currency (US Dollar). The outcome is unclear as China & other nations think about their response to this hostile act. On top of that, Obama's Keynesian deficit spending plan is clearly failing. The idea is that big government steps up to fill the GDP gap in a recession with more spending and that this deficit spending will have a "multiplier" effect to stimulate the economy. It ASSUMES that for every $1 spent by the government, there will be more than $1 increase in GDP. The Obama Administration thought that for every $1 spent by the government, it would cause an increase of $1.54 in GDP in 2009. But due to inflation, increased regulation, less money available for private investment & continued concerns over the economy, the latest & best figures now show that for every $1.00 extra spent by the government, the GDP increased only by $0.67 by the end of 2009 & by only $0.48 by 2010! In other words, what we all felt to be a failed economic policy by Obama was just that! Our best economic policy would now be to stop deficit spending (stop spending $1.00 to get an increase of just $0.48 in GDP) by balancing the budget asap & free up money for private business to borrow, reduce government regulations & reduce inflation. I think Ron Paul is advocating our best possible economic plan. This would be our best "jobs plan".

      • Robert, TX says:

Excellent points, Frank. In addition, when you realize that every dollar of the federal budget should go to Constitutional services first – or the first 25 cents these days – the other 75 cents goes to welfare, food stamps, section 8, TANF, medicaid, education and to prop up medicare and social security. In other words every single dollar we have borrowed in the last 25 years has gone to welfare programs, unemployment, and medicaid. Which means all of the interest we are paying was for these welfare programs as well. Imagine, getting out your credit card to help 1/3 of your neighbors pay last month's bills!

    16. Frank says:

"Keynes's theory that government spending could stimulate aggregate demand turns out to be one that works in limited conditions only, making it more of a special theory than a general theory he had claimed. Stimulus programs work better in the short run than the long run. Stimulus works better in a liquidity crises than a solvency crises, and better in a mild recession than a severe one. Stimulus also works better for economies that have entered recessions with relatively low debt levels at the outset… None of the favorable conditions for Keynesian stimulus was present in the United States in early 2009". James Rickards, "Currency Wars", pp. 186-187.

Obamanomics has failed and the gurus SHOULD HAVE KNOWN it would fail! Common sense told most conservatives it would fail. Bush also failed by bailing out insolvent banks & other institutions. The should have been allowed to fail & go into bankruptcy & re-organized while still maintaining liquidity somehow. So I guess you could say both Bushanomics & Obamanomics failed.

    17. Stirling says:

Unfortunately jobs can't be job #1 when the goal of the administration is to make as many dependents to the government as possible. The growing of the government with spending is to add to this end, such as welfare, food stamps and buying of votes for the subsidizing of those who depend on them. For most people the idea of driving up un-employment would be bad PR, but what if the calculation was to gain the votes of those un-employed and most affected by the bad economy like OWS.. This administration isn't doing the comon sense fixes and have shown a track record of decisions for political gain only.. This is no different.

    18. The Farmer GR MI says:

Nothing this President has done has been about jobs to help America, we are not his friends he loaths us. Neither was his effort to block the pipeline an effort to please the greenies, they have nowhere else to go only the Democrats and the few RINO's will support their foolishness.
What he is doing always supports his kin and friends, its designed to blead us dry and help our enemies to our finances.

    19. Robert, TX says:

It is a shame that Obama is willing to destroy everything in order to get re-elected. But the real shame is that the cowards in Congress have not stood up to him; challenged him; or even remotely tried to check the growth of the executive branch of government. Boehner was spineless for not shutting down the government; and both Boehner and McConnell are traitors for caving on the increases in the debt limit. Of course, what are the sheep going to do about it? Nothing.

      • Joan says:

Obama set out to do just what he said he would do….he was out to destroy this country from the getgo. A shame that it is happening to this Country. He will do and continue do what he needs to do to get re-elected. Who is out there to stop him? Will this Country wise up? Many people are so blind and are being lied to right to their face. I agree with you…..Congress has not stood up to him.

      • SueD says:

Our elected officials in the House and the Senate are too well protected by the laws they passed. Imagine Senator Isa looking into Torte reform. We elected people to represent us and they pad their own pockets, take gifts for gain and we all know where the average American has ended up. Your point, Robert, about gutless members of the House of Representatives (commonly referred to as "The Congress") is astute and thank you.

    20. N. Bolum says:

Most of O's decisions are political constituency driven. The pipeline and gulf drilling delays are aimed at deliberately delaying red state economic prosperity. O is probably trying to figure out how to benefit blue states and their unions. How about forming two bucket brigades manned by ACORN (under all their new names) and union activists to bail & move the oil? Never mind, those actions could result in fair elections with the thugs being too busy.

    21. Whicket Williams says:

Why isn't this being touted as lead story on every media source not controlled by these Idiots that want The USA destroyed?

    22. samm says:

How many jobs have the R created since taking over the house,, 2 million or so lost, and most of the job loses have come by R governors, at least O is doing something,,all R do is complain about taxes and regulation,1-taxes are the lowest since the great depression and no jobs are being created 2- Reagan deregulaed the banks and see waht happened to them. No banks failed from the depressiion till Reagan deregulated them in the 80,s.

      • ThomNJ says:

Samm, sorry but once again – you are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. You are off on everything – read something besides the NY Teims.

    23. MN j says:

So many good comments – my take, the bottom line is that O and his cronies want control, control, control.

Control of the currency by devaluing it
Control of education by taking the private sector out of the student-loan business AND raising costs so more students are indebted to the feds
Control of living quarters by manipulating Fannie and Freddie
      Control of our health care
Control of all exchanges between state/county/local govts via the SEIU thugs, forcing anyone receiving state subsidies (home health care, MI; daycare workers, MN;) to join a branch of the SEIU
Control of energy by giving away everything we have

If the Rs are serious about ousting him, every issue must start with a phrase: re: _____________; understand the Democrats want to control __________ because _____________; the Republican solution returns the decisions about __________________ to the states and individuals. Then expand.

    24. JOAN says:

Obama is out to destroy this Country….and he is doing a good job at that….with the help of our Congress and those people that do not see through his lies and deception. His aim is to get re-elected pandering to the unions and the environmentalists. Obama's mantra was CHANGE….and CHANGE is what we are getting! Will this Country ever wake up?

    25. Casey Carlton says:

How about "Resident" Obama, rather than "President"?

    26. David D says:

The delay in the Keystone pipeline is mainly due to concern by Nebraska citizens about contamination of the Ogalala aquifer, the main source of drinking water supply. The contractor will modify the route to avoid the aquifer which will cause a delay in construction. The project should go forward as planned.

    27. zygote 1331 says:

It comes as no surprise that you only report on a handful of projects that are rooted in "old energy". We are at or near peak oil. What the country needs is a robust alternative fuel program that not just creates jobs but puts the US at he forefront of renewable energy. That is the only path to energy independence.

    28. lizaz says:

He doesn't want to create jobs or improve the economy….at least not yet, until he thinks it will benefit him with votes. The unemployed are not important to him…only if it might get him votes. He's not a president..he's a perpetual candidate and has been running since he ran for the U.S. Senate. I hope we will elect a person in Nov 2012 who has a concern for our country and our people. And, I hope we can replace all RINOs and democrats who also are only interested in their own reelection. Until then, nothing will change…the economy will not get better and our family will not spend any money until the cesspool in DC has been cleaned out!!!!

    29. Victor Barney says:

Hello, didn't he promise a fundamental transformation of our government into marxism and our women majority voted him in as our president all alone, being our overwhelming majority votee! Duh! Women are verbal and men are motor, so make-believe seems better to ur more verbal species!

    30. Bobbie says:

What kind of man refuses the strength and dignity of a free people and country? one who has no strength or dignity who chooses not to comprehend common good. America needs a leader with dignity at least! America doesn't ask for much and this man who calls himself president, disqualifies himself by insults and actions!

    31. Hharry says:

Life was much better with the GOP. Look at the great legacy they left in 2008. Only 650,000 people losing jobs in a month. The DOW at 7,000. They lowered the defict from 5 to 10.5 trillion. Lowered the budget by ???. Look at all the jobs the gop goveners created vby laying off all the state employees and cutting state budgets. Who can believe the GOP?

    32. Jonny says:

I don't know about you, but isn't it amazing at how every area of government is currupt. Obama is at the head of the most currupt government ever. He is living life large while Americans are hurting. He is promoting class warfare by taking the side of the "take over wall street idiots". He blames everyone else while destroying this great nation. He is a devout Muslim and will side with them against us. He is promoting bigger government to run all of our lives. Can't everyone see him for what he really is? Why do Democrats love him- He is a Marxist. He hates the military, He hates big business but takes their money, he hates capitolism. Wake up America!

    33. Blair Franconia, NH says:

Obama promised to focus on jobs twice: Once after he got elected, and he gave us Obamacare, instead. The
second after last year's election. Where are the jobs? We can't wait.

Subject: URGENT Indefinite Jailing of Americans, and Others Get It Worse

The U.S. Senate is about to take some law enforcement powers from the Justice Department, and give greater policing powers to the Department of Defense. These policing powers can (and will) be used on American soil. It appears that, under just two small sections of the National Defense Authorization Act (S. 1867). . .
      1. American citizens and lawful resident aliens, could be held, INDEFINITELY, jailed. ?2. Other persons can be DISAPPEARD by the military, without benefit of habeas corpus or trial. And worse… ?3. These other persons can also be shipped off to a foreign judicial system that might deliver a result the Justice Department wants.
Yet two of the bill's Senate backers admit there is a new power: The ability of the military to engage in police work on American soil — Posse Comitatus be damned.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who backs the bill, indicated that the bill "basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield" and people can be imprisoned without charge or trial "American citizen or not." Another supporter, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) also declared that the bill is needed because "America is part of the battlefield."
The sponsors of this bill, Senators Levin and McCain, are forgetting their Article I role as a protection against an overreaching and potentially tyrannical Executive Branch, and are instead rapidly inventing powers for that branch. They're trading Liberty for Security because we've become so scared of the boogeyman.
We should stop being so cowering and fearful. We should tell Congress, loud and clear, "I Am Not Afraid."
And the debate is occurring as I write this, Monday afternoon.
Why are we getting this crucial information to you so late?
This bill is over 600 pages long, and even according to its sponsors, covers a wide variety of issues. Something as important and unique as criminal justice should not be part of a military authorization bill, but should be the subject of its own bill, consistent with DownsizeDC.org's "One Subject at a Time Act."
      * And these offending sections of this bill didn't come to light until the ACLU published an article about it on the day before Thanksgiving. http://www.aclu.org/blog/tag/Carl%20Levin We found out about that article on Friday night. Every bill should be published online, after the entire bill has been read aloud to the Congress, for at least seven days before its final vote. These provisions of DownsizeDC.org's "Read the Bills Act" would give watchdog groups and media personalities time to digest and disseminate the information to you, with sufficient time to register your dissent.
When we first read 1031 and 1032, we didn't understand them fully. We believe due diligence is important. We wanted to make sure that WE were telling the truth, not someone else's incomplete opinion or ill-advised version. That's one reason you read the Downsizer-Dispatch, isn't it?
But it was hard to find adequate help to understand how these sections related to each other, on a holiday weekend — a weekend where our staff was also, "over the river and through the woods."
We didn't figure out how these sections related to each other until today.
Usually, we prepare our Dispatches the evening in advance, and sometimes even days earlier. Why? Because we want to be sure they're properly researched, accurate, and tightly written. We don't ever want to waste your time.
But you're reading something, today, that's been written in a hurry, just moments before it hit your inbox.
      * The "I Am Not Afraid" campaign ?* The "One Subject at a Time Act" campaign   ?* The "Read the Bills Act" campaign

CALL YOUR SENATORS AND HOUSE REPS.
      * Make a brief note of what you want to say so that your thoughts are organized. ?* Be polite but firm, and be sure to identify yourself as a constituent. ?* Be especially sure to tell them to remove Sections 1031 and 1032 from S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act, which has been placed on the Senate calendar.  ?
      Jim Babka President DownsizeDC.org, Inc.
P.S. By the way, both the Justice Department and the Defense Secretary oppose these provisions, and find them unhelpful. The President has even hinted at vetoing the bill, meaning we can win if we act.

    39. Carol M Kite says:

WHY, oh why, is Obama allowed to get away with this nonsense, ignoring jobs for so many in desperate straits? I think he should be impeached for not leading this country, instead entirely focussed on campaigning, using taxpayer money instead of his campaign funds,. Every move, or non-move, is his over-riding desire to keep potential voters regardless of laws broken or slapping down wonderful potential for needed jobs. This is a miserable exuse for a president, the same for Congress–we need a complete house-cleaning!

    40. steve h says:

What about the jobs provisions in his American Jobs Act that continually get shot down by Repubs? Or the payroll tax cut extension and expansion that Repubs are opposing. Will be interesting to see how Repubs vote against the payroll tax cut and look to add hundreds to thousands of dollars in additional taxes to each American worker. Face it, the GOP only care about one thing – making Obama a one-term president. They've said it repeatedly. They'd rather take the economy down and have Obama lose next November than do what is right for the American people. A sad state indeed.

    41. Gilbert Mauk says:

I do hope the Heritage Foundation is maintaining an ongoing list of Obama’s overt acts of indecision, inaction, and self-serving election oriented delays and the deleterious affect these have had on job creation, tax revenue, and energy independence. Hopefully this fully vetted list will enable his Republican opponent to identify some of the damage he has caused by his action / inaction. Couple this with Obama sanctioned job road blocking actions of the EPA and the NLRB and every sector of his voter base would be negatively affected and SHOULD be outraged.

If we are not Drilling in the US, What are we "EXPORTING" to other countries, our reserves???

    43. Jane Cliff says:

As official spokesperson for the US Forest Service's Eastern Region, of which the Wayne National Forest (WNF) is a part, I'd like to point out that the 5 parcels (totalling 3,302 acres) on the WNF that were withdrawn from an upcoming Bureau of Land Management auction of federal oil & gas leases are only a small part of that auction, which will still occur on Dec. 7. The BLM lease auction included 45 federal parcels (totalling 20,949 acres) in 3 states and now has been reduced by 5 parcels in Ohio. The Forest Service withdrew its consent to include the 5 WNF parcels in the BLM auction, pending environmental analysis of potential deep horizontal drilling on the surface of national forest lands. Although there are currently about 1300 oil and gas wells on the WNF, they are all shallow wells. Estimates of 200,000 jobs created by oil & gas exploration relate to Ohio as a whole by 2015 ( figures provided by the Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program), and it is misleading to attribute that projected job number to potential oil & gas exploration on 3,302 acres in the Wayne NF.

    44. sherry stewart says:

I am never surprised at the right wing , they give all to support our oil addiction MONEY AND POWER are what they are about. The Koch brothers DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART wake up and stop voting against your best interest. OBAMA haters will never give him the chance he deserves, shame on you!!

"Morning Bell: Obama Keeps Turning His Back on Jobs"

Now, now, that isn't completely true – he has done a lot of work with our tax dollars to help create jobs in other countries.
