First we showed you the photos, now there’s a video. Missing in both is the golf course that Rep. Darrell Issa’s district office supposedly overlooks.
The New York Times described the California Republican’s office in the first sentence of Monday’s front-page article this way: “Here on the third floor of a gleaming office building overlooking a golf course in the rugged foothills north of San Diego, Darrell Issa, the entrepreneur, oversees the hub of a growing financial empire worth hundreds of millions of dollars.”
Reporter Eric Lichtblau has defended the description, rebuffing Issa’s request for a correction to the apparent error. Lichtblau told me in an email Monday the description was correct.
Issa’s office first responded with three photos from the office at 1800 Thibodo Road in Vista, CA. Now it has released a short video with views from inside the office and the exterior.
Just as Google Maps indicated, there’s no view of the Shadowridge Country Club. Instead, trees obscure most of the view. The building itself is surrounded by three housing developments and a state highway. The golf course is approximately a half-mile from the office.
There were at least five error in the article, according to Issa’s office, including the description in the opening paragraph. Lichtblau has corrected just one.

Who cares if there's a golf course there or not. That's not the point. The guy is running a company while serving as a Member of Congress. Is that really allowed?
when people slander, it's time they're held accountable on all accounts possible. Especially if they're a service to the public. and even more if they're paid by the public dollar.
What would one expect from the commie news papers as NY Times and LA Times?
I have played a 600 yard par 5 – so it might be possible that his office is within sight of the golf course – but I would hate to use good clubs in the hazards I saw – they make pot bunkers look like polished greens
At least five "errors" in the article. You should say.
view of nature and man made roads-tax paid!! and man made government building-tax paid! No sign of a man made-private sector paid (no cost burden on us)- shadow ridge golf course, though?
