With the United States engaged in a debate over debt, the common consensus among Americans is that spending needs to be reduced. A recent poll commissioned by Generation Opportunity and the polling company, inc./WomanTrend found this was especially true among young Americans who are self-identified independents. They believe less federal spending and less government interference with job creators will lead to more economic opportunity and a more optimistic future for America.
The poll indicated 79% would decrease federal spending from its current level and 59% believe the United States is pretty seriously on the wrong track. This is perhaps no surprise, but it’s unlikely to happen unless Washington changes its ways. Federal spending per household is set to rise 22 percent from 2010 to 2021.
This chart is part of Heritage’s 2011 Budget Chart Book, featuring charts on federal spending, revenue, debt and deficits, and entitlement programs.

It's a good sign the younger is thinking this way; but if they truly characterize themselves as independents, this sadly, in the past, has left them vulnerable to the mealy mouthed siren songs of the liberal/socialist "progressives".
Yes cut spending!!!! Cut the needless spending that G Bush initiated and the frivolous spending of the Obama admin and congress…Democrat and Republican. Cut the Billions of spending on G.B.s temporary job creation plan that cut taxes on the wealthy. Cut the billions of dollars spent on the unneeded conflict in Iraq and the 2.5 billion a week in the nomadic/unrulable land of Afghanistan. Stop the spending that we do to subsidize oil, automobile and banks. G Bush's bank bailout was just that a bail out of the banks! Stop and Tax speculative behavior in the market. Unregulated financial institutions and investment groups have driven the home, oil, gold, and other future markets to new heights, bigger and bigger until the bubble bursts and the average american picks up the peices.
nice try buckwheat but OBee (thats Obama in case u couldn't figure it out ) has spent more than everyone else combined, as for the unneeded conflict my little comy friend i know you hate the oil companys, but it beats riding a camel for the rest of life,Obama is the problem, he hasn't done one good thing since he has been in… I guess that was Bush's fault.. He did get Jimmy Carter, and Benedict Arnold off the hook…
Our country has a big problem differentiating 'want' from 'need'.

You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be really something which I believe I might never understand. It seems too complex and very large for me. I am looking forward for your subsequent put up, I’ll attempt to get the grasp of it!
