The Arab Spring may be becoming a long hot summer.
In the President’s major speech on the Middle East yesterday, it seemed pretty clear that he has moved on from Libya and turned his attention back to the Arab–Israeli peace process. Attention deficit disorder, however, may not be the right answer.
There is a disturbing news report that two men arrested in Tunisia were “suspected of being members of al-Qaeda.” They were picked up near the Libyan border “carrying an explosives belt and several bombs, a security source told Reuters.… The men were carrying Afghan identity papers and were of Libyan and Algerian origin, the source said, adding that they were also connected to two men arrested in Tunisia last week.… The North African country, which is an important destination for Libyan migrants fleeing the conflict, has tightened security along its border with Libya.” If these men turn out to be part of concerted effort to inject al-Qaeda into the Libyan civil war, then that is a sign that things are going to get a lot worse before there is any hope that they get better.

Having set up a pipeline to bring fighters out of Libya, al Qaeda affiliates may well attempt to reverse the flow and bring fighters into the country. It would take time, of course. And such a maneuver may not become apparent for weeks or even months after it begins.
It’s increasingly apparent that the war in Libya will likely drag on for some time, so a new wave of terrorism in North Africa has to be an increasing concern. Though the Libyan Interim Transitional National Council has pledged to keep its ranks “terrorist free,” that proclamation may not mean much if the group lacks the capacity to govern and provide security for the areas under its control.
Those men were hired by Gadaffi to do those acts and claim they are from Al-Qaeda. Mu'ammer Gadaffi is the biggest terrorist on the planet and Lockerbie is just one proof.

You clearly didn't watch the speech. The first 40 minutes of it had nothing to do with Israel. He talked about every country that is dealing with problems pretty evenly. Furthermore, you go on to cite that 2 members of Al-Qaeda have been found in Tunisia…SO SCARY!!!

Does not surprise me, that Al-Qaeda is a growing factor in Libya. All we seem to be doing in the west is the management of chaos. Makes for big profits in the defense industry and keeps hundreds of thousands of un-funded federal workers employed.
Now that we are in three never-ending global wars for decades to come, the big question is where the next war is going to be. Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Egypt looks like a hot spot. Let us get a carrier over there and start causing a ruckus there. Better yet, have we let enough of our weapons to go south of the border to have a war with Mexico?
There are defense contractors who are already receiving over $400 billion annually on unfunded contracts from the DoD, I bet you, they are licking their chops over the possibilities. War – War – War. That is today’s American exceptionalism.
What! You mean Obama words will not stop al-Qaeda in Libya? But Obama's says "democracy" will flouish throughout the Middle East. Libya will improve any day now sence Qaddafi has been removed. Oh, that right, Qaddafi is still
kicking back in his palace. What a surprise! But Egypt will become a "democracy" and day now. Oh, that's right, the Muslim Brotherhood is taking
over that country. Now that's a real surprise. Or, just prehaps, Obama may be lying to us again.
Well gee whiz!!!! We didn't even know that those guys were even a threat to security and peace in the world. Who was it who just told us that we needed to embrace the Muslim Brotherhood as a partner for peace in the Middle East! One thing is for sure, that PLAN sure has worked out well!!! The Muslim Brotherhood is laughing all the way to the bank!!!
We sent our planes over there to "enforce the no-fly zone" and then we turned the whole mess over to the UN which was a plan of pure genius! And now we are probably funding and supplying UN troops under the table so that we can keep our collective "foot on the neck" of the new leadership in Libya!!! After all, we have to remain on standby just in case someone pleads for us to exercise our new philosophy in the world: we will use the power of persuasion; and if that doesn't work, then we will use our persuasion of power!
Look out, Syria. We are coming for you next!!! But don't worry, after we get done destroying everything in sight we will spend billions of American dollars to rebuild your country, and we will give you more billions in aide every year until the end of time! Just don't be mad, okay?
Al Qaeda is CIA backed anyway…so the report should not be so disturbing…a NATO/US lead force is unaware of who is filling the power vacuum? No. They are complicit, and entirely aware. Al-CIA-Da.
