  • Lunch With Heritage Online Chat on the Drilling Moratorium

This week we are joined by Energy and Environment Research Associate Nick Loris. He will take questions about the little-publicized reinstatement of the the offshore oil drilling moratorium. This is especially bad for the Gulf of Mexico region that is still reeling from the BP disaster.

Nick has written extensively on why it is important to continue drilling in the Gulf. The residents should not suffer because of a knee-jerk reaction made by the President. He has also talked with locals in New Orleans who are heavily in favor of lifting the moratorium. Join us Friday at Noon ET with your questions about the effects of the moratorium as well as how other environmental regulations can harm the economy.

    3. Michael Webb , Augus says:

Is it in our National Security interest to make sure we have access to our resourses at all times?

      Up to the 70's – the US drilled/ produced about 70% & imported 30%

No wonder Scotland released the Lockerbie Bomber! If we supplied Scotland with oil then we,USA, would have an argument!

      Everyone needs & wants oil!

Cuba & China drills off Florida & US wont, we are soooo stupid! So Cuba gets the money$$$!!!

      NO OIL NO JOBS!

    4. Sandy Olnhausen says:

Since the Clean Air and Clean Water Act along with environmentalism, our U S Public Policy has been to discourage American free enterprise and individualism. Senator Ken Salazar and President Obama need to re-evaluate the moratorium.

    5. Leon Lundquist, Dura says:

Glad to hear something about the Junk Science of Global Warming (newspeak, Climate Change) and that opens up my theory that Oil is not a Fossil Fuel. Odd, our entire Foreign Policy for forty years was entirely about defending Global Oil, and not getting cut off like we did in Carter's Administration. I think the notion that Oil is a fossil fuel is Junk Science and the Americans have wasted billions defending it but somehow we don't care anymore? Oh! And Mr. Jobs creator, Obama is perfectly willing to waste American Jobs in the Gulf and in Alaska. The Oil business is getting hit all day long in the Southwest, and Colorado. These Progressive Politicians don't mind destroying Industries wholesale in America. So don't look now, Obama is lying about creating jobs! He doesn't want jobs or he would give the Tax Relief to the Job Creators, say as opposed to making Class War on Small Business. Add the Junk Science of Kensian Economics to the Junk Science of Progressive Education to the Junk Science of Global Warming. No! You cannot trust modern Science, even modern Medicine. It is crammed full of Junk Science. I get sick at the mention of Carbon Sequestration, CO2 is not a poison gas! It was terribly destructive of the EPA to declare CO2 an emission! That is Junk that Al Gore wants to take to the bank, the Climate Exchange! The Progressive Insiders (I call them Demolition Plutocrats) are no strangers to Market Manipulation, but we can't even talk about it because the Financial Junk Science is covering up for the thieves. What we have in the Democratic Party is Junk Political Science.

Don't trust any of it! The Obama Administration wants to destroy America with it! They are already halfway there!
