In the Green Room: Former DOJ Attorney J. Christian Adams Discusses the New Black Panther Case

Since the beginning, we have been following [1] the New Black Panther Party voting intimidation case that began on Election Day 2008. Throughout the case, when the mainstream media has paid any attention, it has been to disparage the key actors and to dismiss the case as having been blown out of proportion. In today’s Morning Bell [2], Heritage’s Mike Brownfield reviews what we now know about the case and the Obama Administrations interference. As he wrote:

This isn’t a case of pure imagination. This is, in a nutshell, the true story of the New Black Panther (NBPP) voter intimidation case, and it’s one dramatic example of the increased politicization [3] of the Department of Justice under Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama’s administration.

The case was given renewed life this month when former Department of Justice Attorney J. Christian Adams testified [4] before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. During the hearing, Adams claimed that the DOJ was not pursuing voting rights cases in an appropriately race-neutral manner. Since his testimony, Adams has been receiving increasing exposure, including an interview [5] with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.

Adams recently dropped by the Heritage Foundation for an interview [6] to discuss the criticism he has received and to explain why he thinks this case is important.
