  • Labour Must Disown John McDonnell’s Sickening Attack on Lady Thatcher

Labour leadership contender John McDonnell’s comments on Margaret Thatcher are a sickening disgrace, and a stain on his party. In a leadership debate today, McDonnell stated that if he could return to the ‘80’s he would “assassinate Thatcher”.

As LabourList recorded (hat tip: Jonathan Isaby):

John McDonnell says he was on the GLC – and that if he could go back in time and do one thing, he would visit the 1980s and “assassinate Thatcher”.

I have had the honor of working for Margaret Thatcher, and, like anyone who has had that privilege, knows that she has dedicated her life to serving her country. The political attacks that continue to rain down upon her, nearly 20 years after she left office, are a testament to the great achievements of her leadership. McDonnell’s threatening words however, are simply beyond the pale, and represent a new low in British political debate.

I hope that McDonnell will have the decency to apologize to Lady Thatcher for his disgusting, undignified and menacing words. Labour should also swiftly and unequivocally disown and condemn McDonnell’s remarks.

What a low life, Mr. McDonnell. How did you get so weak? Why did you choose to fall so low? The worlds minds are brainwashed to see everything bad to be good. Acting on everything good to be bad….

People of the world, stay strong! Don't fall for man-made ignorance. Always keep in mind our Father through the teachings of our Brother.

I don't know for certain, but there seems to be an ironic mindset common among liberals which leads them to attack conservatives, in the most vicious of words and actions. McDonnell's wish to go back in time in order to assassinate Margret Thatcher is yet another example. Was is all that long ago that an American writer wrote a novel based on an assassination of former President Bush?

It is difficult to reconcile the attitudes of people who get so upset over wars, domestic violence and social injustice with their attacks on those of differing opinions. Their attitude seems to be "Support mental health, or I'll kill you".

      Sick bastard.

As an american with family who served to keep England, as well as the entire world, free from NAZI domination, I find the remarkable lean towards that exact doctrine to be nauseating. The weakness of the generation in power throughout Europe and the United States has taken from them any credibility to govern. WWII and the cold war were won by people of courage, like Lady Thatcher and her counterpart, Ronald Reagan. If not for the strength and courage and fearlessness of their own parents, the political elitists that are now ruining the legacy bequeathed them, would have been less than Feces on the shoes of some German Soldier.

We must root out these people and replace them one by one. We must resist the temptation to be silent. For if we are to be allowed to enjoy the freedoms that My grandparent and parents fought for along side of yours, we must fight the silent revolutions that face us today. Let the worlds Rip Van Winkles now awaken and reclaim what is rightfully ours before it is too late.
