The international hullabaloo over the tragic deaths provoked by violent “peace activists” seeking to undermine the Israeli arms blockade on Gaza has set back efforts to contain and neutralize the threats posed by the Palestinian Islamist terrorist group Hamas and its chief foreign bankroller, Iran. The United Nations Security Council, which was focused on intense negotiations over imposing another round of sanctions on Iran due to its nuclear defiance, now has been diverted to focus on Israel’s alleged transgressions against anti-Israel activists who clearly were spoiling for a fight.
Politico’s Laura Rozen reported yesterday that the Security Council vote on Iran sanctions will likely be pushed back because of fallout from the Israeli raid on the Gaza aid flotilla. The Obama administration had been pushing for a vote today, but diplomatic sources said the vote is not likely to take place this week.
This delay comes despite the fact that the IAEA reported on Monday that Iran has accumulated enough low enriched uranium to build two nuclear weapons, if it was further enriched.
Turkey, which is one of the prime movers for deflecting the Security Council’s attention from Iran to Israel, also has aided Iran by promoting a deceptive nuclear deal that diverts attention from Iran’s continued defiance of five U.N. Security Council resolutions calling on it to halt its uranium enrichment efforts.
The international uproar over Israel’s interception of the Gaza-bound ships also has undermined support for Israel’s legitimately imposed arms blockade against Hamas, which has smuggled arms, including sophisticated Iranian-supplied rockets, into Gaza by sea and by tunnels under the Egyptian border. Hamas, which is adamantly committed to Israel’s destruction, provoked a 2008 war with Israel by launching hundreds of rockets at Israeli civilians. The well-meaning but naive peace activists who participated in the flotilla and gave cover to the Islamist radicals who apparently provoked the violence, have helped to advance the Hamas agenda, which includes the obstruction of peace negotiations with Israel and relentless attacks on Israeli civilians.
The Turkish Islamist group that helped to organize and finance the flotilla, the Humanitarian Relief Fund, did not bother to hide its glee over the results of the naval incident: “We became famous,” said Omar Faruk, a board member of the group. “We are very thankful to the Israeli authorities.” No doubt, Hamas and Iran’s Islamist dictatorship also are thankful for the efforts of the Humanitarian Relief Fund and to the European leftists and peaceniks that served as “useful idiots” in advancing their interests.

What an irony it would be to change the bible's prophesy.
Mankind making the choice to stop and clean all these messes. Start facing each others' individual existence with respect. Mankind has the choice and the mind to make it. Most have minds that reason. It's an ability all mines should use but those lesser then, choose not to.
Turkey is becoming an fundamentalist Islamic state and will soon join the nations of that practice Jihad. They will stab us in the back any chance they get.
Americans MUST open their eyes NOW. Seeds of Turk's and Islamists have already been placed throughout the United States FOR THE PAST DECADE AT LEAST!
It must be addressed from within FIRST. God PLEASE Bless America.
A very well stated article about the cover-up used to blame Israel and deflict attention from Hamas, Iran and all the others who hate or want Israel destroyed. I'm sure glad Our Lord has the last word on that, Amen!
Where is the outrage from Turkey and the other "peace-loving people" of the Muslim world, as Iran develops is nuclear weapons? Where is their outrage when Hamas sends women and children into crowded Isreali markets to blow themselves up and kill as many Isrealis as possible? Where was the outrage from the Muslim world after 9/11?
Those on the ship running the Isreali blockade were looking for a fight. they hoped for a confrontation and got one. When Isreali commandos tried to board the ship they were attacked. The fact that the Turks only brought knives to a gunfight only shows that they were stupid. Had they allowed the commandos to board the ship and inspect the cargo, they would be alive today.
The Turks on board the "mercy ship" were looking for a fight, and they got one. They could have avoided bloodshed by allowing the Isreali commandos to board and search their ship. If they had, no one would have died.
Instead, the Turks decided to attack the boarders and now they expect sympathy for being stupid enough to bring pipes, sticks and broken bottles to a gun fight. Now, they want to claim the moral highground and paint themselves as victims. Sorry, I don't buy it.
I don't believe that William Ayers is either well meaning or a peace activist let alone naive. And he is also a board member on one of the American organizations that helped fund this flotilla.
Just another UN mistep – running an investigation instead of dealing with the root problem in a region by applying adult supervision. Why do we fund the UN? It is another good idea run amuck by professional politicians and other miscreants. We should stay in the Security Council, if for no other reason than to veto "dumb ideas" especially agains the U.S. and its allies, but we should zero fund the rest of that organization – the general body and the NGOs.
What the "peaceniks" & the loonie left don't realize, or don't care, is that the main goal of Islam's to conquer Jerusalem or as the fanatics call it "Al Quds". So once they do that, they'll become more emboldened. Let's look at Europe & even cities of this great nation, don't we see the fanatics amongst us? This' their plan & the anti-semetic public outcry's truly helping the Islamists.
Wow, a lot of blinded comments based on a lack of evidence. All one has to do is look at the post-Flotilla behavior by Israel to see that they are guilty as all heck. It is a PR disaster for Israel and a tragedy for those slain and the peace process in general. Israel first claimed that it was AL Quaeda terrorists on board. That was retracted after press pushed Israel for proof. Israel has also claimed that the peace activists were heavily armed. European port authorities (thoroughly) searched the ship before they set sail for Gaza to prove there were no weapons on board. So this defense is now falling through the cracks. Now we see buzz words like "cultural terrorism" being thrown about (including thrown at those touring music acts that have refused to play in Israel). The Israeli government's press division apologized for circulating a link to a video that mocks activists aboard a ship headed to Gaza earlier this week that was blocked by an Israeli raid. Let us not forget Israelis erased much of the photographic evidence of their assault after they confiscated it from the passengers and journalists. And now they reject an independent commission to investigate the tragedy. I could go on and on. What does Israel have to hide? But don't worry, Obama, like GW, will do nothing to change the current relationship between Israel in the U.S. Status quo.
