A college graduation is a great achievement that is the culmination of years of hard work, feverish paper writing, and the occasional all-nighter. So when college students get to their graduation ceremony, they are usually greeted with a great celebration. They are also very positive affairs with well-known speakers giving a speech that makes it an unforgettable day. As well it should be.
Former Vice President Al Gore seems to have not gotten the memo. You see, he used a commencement speech at the University of Tennessee as a political platform and proceeded to give a doomsday lecture to the unsuspecting graduates about his predicted, dire consequences of global warming. Is that what people want to hear at a college graduation? You wouldn’t think so. Commencement speeches are usually positive focusing on the future, not fanatical end-of-world theories.
There is nothing wrong, in general, with Gore making speeches about global warming and what supposedly is, or is not happening, as a result of rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere, but this was a sign of complete disrespect for the school and the graduates of the University of Tennessee. Not everyone in attendance agrees with Gore’s theories, and for those that didn’t, it could have ruined what was supposed to be one of the greatest days of their lives.
We’ll let Gore’s address speak for itself, but as you watch it keep in mind that his palatial mansion in Tennessee uses 20 times the amount of electricity that a normal family uses. What’s more, he wants everyone to pay dearly for a Renewable Electricity Standard that he certainly can afford. But those people graduating college and entering the job market in a tough economy may not be so lucky.

Excellent article. Gore shamelessly pushed his agenda. He's been saying the same thing for so many years it may be the only words he is able to utter at this point. Did the graduates have any input at all on who would be their guest speaker? If I were one of the graduates, I would have walked out. No one is going to shove crap down my throat, especially on such a milestone of a day! No One!
Really, How embarrassing! How long was this commencement of hell? The 1:59 seconds was too long.

And about those oil balls resulting from the all clear, safety in action, safest rig in the world, according to American government incompetent standards, be recycled for umm, pot holes? Or something?
are al gore & al sharpton in actuality the same idiot?one says every possible event is destroying the planet ,the other claiming all things bad are from the white devils trying to destroy blacks.
they are both so insanely moronic that my only explanation is that it is 1 idiot with multiple personality disorder.whether the caped crusader is white or back…who knows? regardless both idiots feed & crave the idiocy of other idiots.please someone put them somewhere that they can not harm anyone but themselves. hahahaha
And just who were those leftist morons behind him that jumped up to give him a standing ovation after that depressing rant, based on dubious science and climate models, that had nothing to do with graduating and accomplishment? Must be some of the climate change (NOT global warming anymore) pseudo-scientists still on the gov't grant dole…or hoping that the money keeps on rolling in.
Al Gore is "slithering" all the way to the bank. Every point in his 1:59 minute diatribe consist almost entirely of the same lies and destortions that, for the most part, have been disproved by honest scientist. Yet, the left wing radicals environmentalist are so completely committed to their ideology, they continue blindly follow the Al Gore types, which in tern is making Gore a multi, multi-millionaire.
This would have been one time an ipod could have saved the day. They could have been listening to a podcast of Rush Limbaugh or even Glenn Beck. Even Ray Stevens new song Come to The USA. I'm sure they knew who was going to be speaking so they could have planned for it. If you think it would be disrespectful to listen to something during the commencement speech then I have two questions. Are you obligated to respect some one who clearly has no respect for you while they are trying to further their financial gains through fraud in front of a captive audience? How do you honor someone that is dishonorable?
Sounded like only three people applauded. Such a shame that it would have been inappropriate to toss some tomatoes at this looney at the commencement. But…..isn't it even more inappropriate to allow political speeches at graduations…where the speaker has a captive audience? Al Gore and Obama are nothing less than embarrassments.
How VERY inspiring to get out there in the world and take it back from these people who profit from fear and despair. If you ask me, Al Gore's mouth is a bigger problem than the BP OIL disaster. It is lunecy to drill that far out, but we need oil-our oil, not some middle east oil! The eviormentalists carry a lot of the blame in this sad problem in the gulf. Pat youselve on your big fat, hugely weathy and wastful back, Al!
You are the real MENACE! I would not come to my own graduation if I had to hear your BS.
What a buffoon. He just like's to hear himself talk.
These are not mere theories that Mr. Gore is pontificating on. After all, "the science is settled", according the Goracle. The students would do well to listen and soak up all of Mr. Gore's knowledge and wisdom.
No way Unbelievable those poor youg people
Unbelivable those poor young people!
When Al Gore dies he will stop exhailing thus slowing Global Warming CO2. Until then I fear he is emitting so much polution we may have an extra Hurricaine that should be named after him like his offspring. I am not refering to his house or his jet but his shooting off his mouth without thinking.
