  • Morning Bell: The Road to Repeal is Well Under Way

“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told us just weeks before Congress passed President Barack Obama’s health care plan. Well, the nation’s post-passage Obamacare education continued yesterday when the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed that the federal government will have to spend an additional $115 billion implementing the law, bringing the total estimated cost to over $1 trillion. The estimate had been requested before passage of the bill by Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-CA), but the CBO was too overwhelmed with the Democrats’ other constant revisions to the law to get back to Lewis before the final vote.

This is by far not the only nasty little surprise that has come back to bite Obamacare after passage. Shortly after it became law, U.S. employers began reporting hundreds of millions if dollars in losses thanks to tax changes in the bill. AT&T and Verizon alone pegged their Obamacare tax losses at around $1 billion each. At first, Democrats in Congress were outraged by the announcements and threatened to hold hearings persecuting these companies. But then the Democrats not only found out the companies were obligated by law to report their Obamacare related losses, but that the losses were a signal these companies might have to dump their employees’ and retirees’ health care coverage all together.

Then the Obama administration’s own Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its final cost projections for Obamacare, finding that, contrary to White House claims, the legislation will increase national health care spending by $311 billion over the next decade. The CMS report also revealed that: 1) 18 million Americans will pay $33 billion in penalties for failing to comply with Obamacare’s individual mandate and still receive no health care; 2) U.S. employers will pay $87 billion in employer mandate penalties; 3) 14 million Americans will lose their current employer-based health coverage; 4) 7.4 million seniors will lose their current Medicare Advantage benefits; 5) 15% of all Medicare providers will be made unprofitable, thus “jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries.”

Facing this onslaught of reality, the Obama administration has swooped into full spin mode, devoting the Weekly Presidential Address to explaining the “real benefits” Obamacare is “already delivering” to Americans. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius then sent letters to House and Senate leaders touting her “progress” in implementing the law. And then last night White House aides Nancy-Ann DeParle and Stephanie Cutter briefed the House Democratic Caucus on the “tangible benefits” of the law. The sales pitch for all three events was the same: 1) “adults” age 26 and younger can be added to their parents’ plan (never mind that this drives up their parents’ health care costs); 2) new high-risk pools for Americans with pre-existing conditions (never mind that 19 states have rejected working with HHS since Obamacare massively underfunded the pools); 3) supplementing insurance for early retirees (never mind that the Medicare Advantage cuts and tax changes mentioned above are a big reason why seniors will need supplemental coverage).

Democrats know that Americans simply are not buying what they are selling. Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) tells Politico: “It’s just like trying to explain the Encyclopedia Britannica.” And John Spratt (D-SC) adds: “You need to know what you’re talking about and this is extremely complex. It’s really difficult to remember, ‘was this in this bill, or was this in the bill Senate side.’” Maybe Spratt should have figured out what was and wasn’t in the bill before he voted for it.

Since the left can’t even figure out what is in the bill they are trying to defend, the latest Rasmussen Reports shows that 63% of likely voters now believe it will increase the federal deficit, and 56% now favor repeal. Not waiting for this November’s elections to change the leadership in Congress, states are leading the way on the road to repeal. According to The Washington Post 33 states have mounted legal and legislative challenges to the new law. Clint Bolick, litigation director of the Goldwater Institute, tells the Post: “This is going to be a long, protracted war of attrition and we haven’t even seen the first wave of regulations yet. … The initial challenges to McCain-Feingold were rejected. But since then, litigators found the vulnerabilities. Likewise, here I think you’re going to see a thousand flowers bloom in terms of lawsuits. I’m hoping that this will die a death of a thousand cuts.”

They had no business cramming ObamaCare down the throats of the American people. We said we did not want it. They refused to listen, and have ruined the best health care system in the world. If they truly wanted to help people who did not have the money to purchase health care and who really wanted it, they could have found a far better way.

Why is Mo_Bama still in Washington? Let him loose so he can run for Dictator in Kenya where he's from. The longer this goes on the closer we come to loosing our Nation and our Freedoms. I Pray someone is listening.

    3. Dave Wooldridge Indi says:

Unlike Congress, I'll say up front I don't know what I'm talking about, but my question concerns states' rights. If I'm correct, the Federal Gov't. gives the states x number of dollars to help defray medical costs, and the states add to that, correct?

How would the states go about doing 100% of the funding? I'm assuming that is the goal for the Federal Gov't, so they can keep what they would've paid out. Why are the states required to do this in the first place? I understand the need, and it does cost millions of dollars, but cuts do need to be made, and standards for payment need to be tightened. Wow! Hangnail surgery , or Liposuction for free!?

If this is Utopia, and everybody gets what they want w/o paying for it, where's my Corvette ZL1?

When is this nonsense going to stop?

    4. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

The photo of the open road is an appropriate photo for my comment. This whole nationalized health care farce reminds me of a bunch of deer standing in the middle of a highway. "Oh how warm and fuzzy it feels on our hooves". You're on the side trying to warn them it's dangerous where they're standing. "Don't be a fear monger" they retort. " Our herd organizer, Obambi, promised to bring grass here to us. It's our right to have warm hooves while feeding. Besides, we're around this nice bend where we can't be spotted". "We're far smarter than you dummies sitting on the side making noise" There it is folks! Disaster will strike. Proactively warning this congress and administration they've created a national "man made disaster" has proven not to work. I suppose they'll have to get run over to understand the message.

The statement from Pelosi, "we have to pass it to see whats in it", is an absolute confirmation that we are being CONTROLLED by a group of either the INSANE or the biggest bunch of thieves in history. These people are not just lining their own pockets, they are spending money with the attitude "we have to spend it all now so when the republicans take back government they won't have any money left to spend for at least 100 years"! They plundered and pillaged social security funds (BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN THE PROGRAM !) and used those BILLIONS of dollars (taken from us by IRS!) for their pet projects, like PAYING IMMIGRANTS JUST TO BE HERE TO THE TUNE OF $60,000,000,000 PER YEAR! Its called BUYING VOTES WITH OUR MONEY! Name a time democrats ACTUALLY PROVED they care about AMERICANS AND AMERICA FIRST. YOU CAN"T!

    8. Mary.... WI says:

This stinky healthcare bill can be deleted forever by voting in decent, honest politicians that represent what MAJORITY of their constituents want. Also, voting Obama OUT in 2012 will definitely assure this bill will be history.

I hate to see this great country go the way of Europe. I'm praying Nov.2010 won't be too late to change leadership. But Obama and Congress keep rushing through more and more stinky bills. STOP ALREADY! WAKE UP and see what's happening to so many incumbents across the US. Out with the old, complacent politicians and in with the new, honest, constitution abiding politicians.

    9. Richard Miller says:

There is another cost factor, which is what is driving the states opposition to the bill, which is the increase in costs imposed to states. If the officials in Washington were honest about the cost of the plan, it would include the increase in states costs that will ultimately be paid for with tax increases, along with the already passed taxes and fees that will generate $850 billion to pay for the federal expenses

    10. NotNamedJohn, Kansas says:

      As always, an informative article.

I don't have much to add, except that the combined wealth of the top 20 richest people in the world is only $342 billion, barely more than 1/3rd of Obamacare's projected costs. Just an observation I thought I'd share.

    11. Da Dog - Deep South says:

This is the outcome of allowing petulant, arrogant, and impulsive individuals with no true life experience or common sense to make decisions. These people live in perpetual adolescence. They appear to be completely delusional thinking that their fantasies and lies will convince anyone with the slightest bit of intellect that they know what they are doing. We are truly doomed.

    12. Stephanie, Little Ro says:

This is exactly why when conservatives retake Congress in November, and hopefully the Senate, work MUST begin to bring impeachment charges against Obama. He MUST be stopped from destroying this country. He's destroying the Democrat party, which is rather an enjoyable thing to watch, but he MUST NOT destroy this country like he wants to do.

    13. Neal Palmquist says:

I favor repeal, but my reason was not found in this article. I believe such a program is a State issue and not an issue for the national government.

I believe that every state in the country knows these programs cannot possibly work. Every state knows people will move out to escape the government run healthcare. So the only way to make it work is to make sure that American citizens have no place to escape Obamacare.

We will need to give up our citizenship to get away from national health care and it is sad that the left has no sympathy for what they do to our citzens.

Why borrow money from unborn generations of future americans and use it to pay for my healthcare today? That is horrifying and selfish.

The Americans who have to pay for this won't be born until after we are all dead. Shame on America!

Finally – a light at the end of the tunnel. In the 15th Congressional district Rob Steele (R)( a cardiologist) is running against Rep John Dingel (D) for the congressional seat. Dingel stated on radio station WJR that he will debate anyone of WJR's choice on health care. Dr. Steele accepted the challenge but so far Dingel has declined the debate. Perhaps someone in Dingel's office has read the Health Care bill and realized a debate will make Dingel look foolish, The debate will probably happen with a cut-out of Dingel on the stage. I'll keep you posted.

"May I see your identification, please?" asked the agent.

"I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet," replied the guy..

"Sure buddy, I hear that every day. No ID, no entry," said the agent.

"But I can prove I'm an American!" he exclaimed. "I have a picture of Ronald Reagan tattooed on one side of my butt and George Bush on the other.."

"This I gotta see," replied the agent.

With that, the guy dropped his pants and showed the agent his behind.

"By golly, you're right!" exclaimed the agent. "Have a safe trip back to Chicago ."

"Thanks!" he said. "But how did you know I was from Chicago?"

The agent replied, "I recognized Obama in the middle."

    18. Normca says:

Picture this; a Republican uses their vast staff to summarize the Health Insurance bill, along with the facts here, the guy with an "R" after his name discusses the facts during a candidate debate with a democrat that voted for the bill. And wipes the democrat off the map because Slaughter, Dingle, Obey and the rest of these guinness did not read the bill, neither did the smartest guy in the room – Barrack Hussein Obama. And the most fun debate to watch will be in 2012, when the Republicans play recordings of the smart guy saying "if you like you're health insurance, you can keep it" and " "the bill will save money – its deficit neutral" Go take an aspirin.

    19. Dan DeLallo says:

Thank you for investing the necessary time to read and understand the implications of the legislation H.R. 3590 and H.R.4872. The truths published here are hidden from the Citizens, in general, through, what seems to be a coordinated effort to omit the facts when discussing the new law; both by the media and the Administration. It is unclear to me how the Administration could contemplate continuing to distort these facts and turn their back on solving the real problems arising in the health care system. Your organization has clearly defined these problems in previous commentary and research articles. The fear I have is Obama’s demonstrated ability to move the masses through deception. This man is clearly dangerous to our liberties, our freedom and our way of life; as your organization has shown over-and-over again. Please continue your invaluable work in publishing the truths when other do not have the courage to do so.

    20. Greg, AZ says:

The democrats keep hoping we will forget all about the shenanigans, half truths, lies and misrepresentations surrounding the health care bill by the time the November elections come around. Yet it seems impossible to forget when just about everyday something about the bill is shown for the pack of lies it really is. Democrats are going to SUFFER in November. The voters are just too pissed by the flagrant mismanagement of congress and the current administration to so easily forget that they went against the will of the people.

    21. Anita Metairie says:

Well if this whole bill is a lie and it doesn't do what the idiots in Washington said it would do, it should be thrown in the garbage can. The bill that is the true bill is nothing like Washington said it would be. And stupid Nancy's reaction,"You have to pass the bill to find out what's in it," is typical left wing progressiveness idealogy. And they wonder why their ratings are so low and why this time around it is so easy to get rid of life time politicians. You gave the American People all the push they needed to accomplish this. Thanks for that anyway Plastic Face Nancy.

    22. Ron, San Jose says:

Okay, we get it. This bill in the handiwork of the grossly inept. Now what?! What is the comprehensive strategy of the GOP to decimate this bill? I don't care to hear about alternatives, I just want this damned thing abolished! So what are they (the GOP) going to do about it? And what can I do to help?!

    23. raccman, Glen Gardne says:

    25. Drew Page, IL says:

It will take several years to determine what the real costs of Obamacare will be and by then the perpetrators of this monstrosity will be either retired or voted out of office. If the current estimates, comparing ten years of funding to six years of benefits, are coming in at about $1 trillion, you can be certain the real costs will be at least three times that amount.

We still don't know if the Obamacare requirement of forcing everyone to buy health insurance will withstand the Constitutional challenges it will face. What will happen to the residents of those 19 states that rejected working with HHS because of what's being called the "massively underfunded" insurance pools, that haven't even been established yet? What happens to those on Medicare, which we are constantly told is near bankruptcy, when $500 billion is removed from Medicare funding?

We will indeed find out what's in the bill now that it's passed, but not for many years. By that time Nacy, Harry and Mr. O will be sipping pinnea coladas on some beach, drawing massive government pensions, congratulating themselves on the tough decisions they made on behalf of the American public.

      Party is over.

    29. toledofan says:

It was obvious, to most of us, that, this was going to be disaster of epic proportions and we haven't even seen all of the unintended consequences yet, like, the shortage of doctors and care and the raising of the premiums. The Democrats have shown, over and over, since 2007, that they can't be trusted with managing the government, the economy or the military and it's becoming clearer each day, they have little value for the Constitution. I think the other sad part of all this is that we are starting to see how many people actually want the government to run their lives; it's hard to imagine that only 56% support the repeal of this bill. I would think the number should be around 68 – 70%.

    30. S. Smith Richmond, T says:

This is such a reminder of who is in the White House and what his true agenda is-to destroy America from within and to reshape her into a Socialist State. Take away all incentive to realize the American Dream as our fathers and their fathers did. It is now a country that rewards those who will not help themselves and are welfare/entitlement dependent from cradle to grave. I can only hope and pray that there are still enough patriotic Americans left that will defeat BHO and his Marxist agenda in the November elections.

    31. Nick in Virginia, Al says:

First, is there anyone left who feels they can trust the 0bama administration and the Democrats in Congress?

Second, since this bill was passed under false pretenses (that it would be "deficit neutral"), can't we just get a "do-over"?

Maybe the new Supreme Court Justice can help us out on that.

    32. Pam O'Dell, Gar says:

Debt, debt, debt. My head is exploding, the country is imploding! Yesterday I got a 15% hike on my long term care insurance from AIG. Excuse me, isn't that the government bailed out, taxpayer funded AIG? The same AIG who is now playing credit default swaps that Greece will pay back it's loans, and when they don't, AIG will lose even MORE money that they'll want the taxpayers to bail out? No worries, I called my crack congressional reps' office, and they tell me not to worry…I can drop my AIG long term care (that I've already paid premiums on for 11 years) and go with the new, improved health care reform bill sublidized long-term care from Medicare! I'm going to need psychiatric care soon listening to these people!

    33. john Arizona says:

Great analysis and article, HF. Has anyone heard from the major media outlets about this insanity? Where is Ken Jarvis with his left wing explanation that says something other than "Thanks Obama!"

    34. Bert Powers Missouri says:

I believe the intention was to make healthcare insurance expensive and complicated, so employers would drop it. Then we devolve to a single payer like they wanted in the first place. The government steps in again and saves the day.

    35. Jackson, Denton, TX says:

Great dialogue J.C. We all got caught like deer in the headlights with the ultimate collision just around the corner, and we all know the car usually wins that one. The highway photo struck a chord with me too…looks like the "road to nowhere", just where this country is headed with obama and pelosi at the wheel.

Maybe we could explain it in language that BHO will understand: The United States of America is NOT your golf course; if you want to practice, do it somewhere else. There are no "mulligans" when you screw up (like health care, or appointing crazy czars and liberals to the Supreme Court) – WE have to play your out of bounds shots with penalies attached. Wise Up, man.

    36. Dave, Provo, UT says:

The only good thing to come out of the Obomanation Health Care Bill is that the States are waking up to the fact that their rights have been slipping away to a bloated, unmanageable, uncaring, Federal Bureaucracy. The States need to take back their Constitutional rights. 50 experiments would provide may good ideas how to solve problems and bad ideas that don't work. And check out the latest from the FDA–You don't own your body or have the right to choose what food or medicine to put in it. More shades of BIG Brother knows best.

    37. B & T, Flyover C says:

Best news I've had since Scott Brown got elected. Of course, my high mood was dashed when Nancy started swinging her gavel that fateful Sunday in March….I am almost a senior citizen (63 this past Feb.). I am living in fear of rationed care (because no docs will want to see seniors by the time I hit 65, and the government will probably assign me the cheapest fix for whatever illnesses I come up with for the rest of my life.

I hope Heritage is right, but so many times I've had my hopes up only to be let down once again. It would have been better if we could have prevented this diabolical "reform" package (medicare cuts, forbidden medicare advantage plans) and all. But we didn't.

So repeal or defunding is the best way out of the mire.

      Thanks, Heritage.

I dropped my Heritage membership two days ago. As much as I am behind what they believe in 150% and then some — other than my pocket constitution (which I am grateful for because I didn't have one until they sent it) that is the only piece of mail I received from them other than way too many solicitation letters. I did call and ask to stop sending the solicitation mail. I did wait the requisite 6 weeks.

When I got the letter yesterday asking for $9 per month, it was too much for me.

      I called and cancelled.

I hope they can "make this health care law" go away and if they can, go ahead on!

    38. Judith in Michigan says:

So, now we have, today, Mr O threatening to veto parts of his own health-care bill because Congressional cost estimators said additional costs that hadn't been added prior to vote push entire costs past $1 Trillion. My, My. My. Imagine that !!

This is a gesture meant to convince the US citizens he cares about them. and is trustworthy He would never veto this bill, not any single part. The Dems knew exactly what was in this bill and the wreckage it would cause. They just hoped the American people wouldn't notice.

As we all now know, this bill was never about "affordable health care for all", but about control. The back-pedaling and excuses have now begun.

And to Ben of Ann Arbor, Good observation about the state of politics here in Mi. It is time for Mr. Dingell to be retired, along with our two Democrat Senators, and, of course, our "highly successful" Democrat Governor. Then we will truly see the light at the end of the tunnel. Michigan deserves better.

    41. Mike Sheahen, Hickor says:

Hey! Bunkie! The so-called "health care bill" (a.k.a. "Obamacare") did NOT "pass" and was NOT "passed by Congress"!!!

Not in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Constitution, and thus also the Constitutional definition of a bill "passed" by both houses of Congress "signed into law by the President", it did not "pass"!

So that right there, means that the so-called "health care bill" or "Obamacare" is a bill being imposed without being actually passed by BOTH houses of Congress (both individually and together) and signed by the President, in accordance with procedure prescribed in the Constitution, which already makes it Unconstitutional and thus ultimately both illegal and illegitimate, and that is before our even getting into all the other ways it is against our Constitution, and our founding principles and documents including our Constitution.

The bottom line is the so-called "health care bill", a.k.a. "Obamacare", is a "bill" which has in fact not been passed by both houses of Congress and signed into law by the President, in accordance with procedure prescribed in the Constitution, but it is being Unconstitutionally and thus ultimately illegally and illegitimately imposed in violation of not only procedure prescribed by the Constitution but also in violation of numerous parts of our Constitution, and against the will of the people, all of which we, the people, must stop now, along with other power and money grabs by politicians, in every political party, at all levels here in the United States!

According to Rosemary LaBonte, maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan (advocates tearing down the Statue of Liberty) why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer.Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.Nothing was handed to them.No free lunches,no welfare,no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. Most of their children came of age when World War 11 broke out.My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany,Italy,France and Japan.None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler,Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people.

The bit about children supported to age 26 on parent's health care does not apply to some government-sponsored insurance. Under Tricare, coverage ends when the kid exits school or age 23. My daughter just graduated from college and I checked on how long she was covered before we had to find additional insurance. I have a couple weeks.

Someone might want to ask the who gets this coverage. It doesn't seem to apply to military retirees or active duty military. Has the government exempted itself from having to provide this much advertised benefit?

    48. Barbara Frances Delo says:

All insightful comments…but there's more…As I understand it the most dangerous part is not even the cost…it's the redistribution of healthcare dollars and the loss of control for doctors. As long as the government Medical Advisory Board and the Sect of HHS are allowed to determine the best practice (what care can be paid for – economic rationing) rather than doctors… Obama can achieve his goal…redistributiong dollars away from eldercare (who are going to dies soon anyway) to health education programs and job creation for inner cities…What does that mean…perhaps that your grandmother will not be approved for that bypass surgury…just too old…

One more point. It is in our ball park…the Republicans MUST come up with a viable alternative that does SCARE THE HELL out of Americans…I like Price's plan…

    49. Blair, Franconia, NH says:

We, the people, will remember in November. I've been saying that since last November. That said, I don't like the way Obama's handling everything. He's so holier-than-thou. We're facing the Europeanization of this country. Obama's not Bill

Clinton redux, or George W. Bush redux, or Ronald Reagan redux. He's either George H.W. Bush redux, or Jimmy Carter redux. What do they both have in common? They only served one term as President.

    50. Richard Cancemi, Arl says:

It's about time Progressives are being challenged with action and not empty rhetoric! This needs to be applied to Obama, Reid and Pelosi via impeachment procedures.

    51. Brad, Detroit, MI says:

Ken, the ignorant liberal posts :

      HF pushing Repeal of ObamaCare

so that the NEEDY WILL NOT BE COVERED.

** Your emotionally charge arguments are old and tired. Try using some facts next time.

Children will no longer be covered.

** Ever hear of SCHIP ?

Anyone with Pre-Existing Conditions no longer will be covered.

** Blue Cross/Blue Shield (a non-profit insurance company) HAS to cover everyone by law already.

Pregnant unwed Teenage girls will no longer will be covered.

** Again, there are existing programs that cover pregnant teens already – WIC is one in our state – it provided pre-natal care and food stamps.

The New Unemployed no longer will be covered.

** Again, ever hear of COBRA ?

** Again, ever hear of Medicaid ?

    52. Ruth, St. Helena Isl says:

My husband is a Family Practitioner of forty-three years and this is the final governmental straw that is pushing us to leave the country because we cannot survive financially (yes, I know, doctor's are all rich or so the belief is). Many of his colleagues are considerering the same thing or of closing their practices. The past forty years of medical practice in USA has been a living hell for doctors because of the paperwork and the hoops they are expected to jump through for the government and insurance companies, not to mention the 'poor' patient who thinks they will get rich if they sue the doctor. Each person in the USA should send their federal tax dollars to their state governmet to hold in an escrow fund, then pressure their state to secede. That should get someone's attention since writing and calling our government hasn't done a damn thing. We are in our late sixties and have struggled and worked hard all our lives right beside the rest of the middle class work force and this is not the time for us to have to fight for our lives until the day they are over and so we will make the move out of here. As for those of you who decide to stay and be taxed out of existence, good luck and God Bless.

    53. Wildcat from Dallast says:

The bad news is that the road to repeal this horrendous piece of legislation will take more time than we would like it to. However, the good news there is a high probability that it will be repealed in the next three years. The other aspect of the good news is having conservatives actually develop a viable course of action that we can use to replace it with that actually tackles the defective parts of the capitalistic health care (and more accurately the health insurance) system while simultaneously incentivizing the individual taking responsibility for taking care of himself both as a productive working citizen and upon retirement.

And, unlike KJ, the bonafide, “needy” can be covered for a lot less than (Obummercare), children are already covered either under something called, “SCHIP” or their parent’s policy, those with pre-existing conditions have always been covered under group health insurance policies (by law), and parents will have to pay for the consequences of their unwed teenage daughters choices/actions. Remember, choices like actions have consequences from childhood thru adulthood without fail.

While we have to accept the poll numbers for what they are; what if they limited their polling to only polling individuals who have to pay for (or contribute to) the cost of their health insurance and health care? And then again if they limited it to polling only those business owners who are providing health insurance benefits to their employees? The numbers I have seen indicate a much stronger repeal action desired that is far north of the 90% in favor of repeal.

If you have ever been in a foreign country with nationalized medicine and spoke with their citizens about the accessibility to a health care provider and the quality of care versus the amount they are paying in taxes then you would learn a few things. The coverage and care isn’t worth the 47%+ to 70%+ of their income for what little they are getting, when they can get it. And their nation’s debt load continues to grow making their money more and more worthless. WHY do you think the EU is directing Greece to return to our capitalist version of health care?

I think most thinking American citizens have already attributed Pelosi’s statement as elitist and pure arrogance, they know how to categorize the remaining representatives and senators based upon their individually made idiotic comments and voting record. That is why every one of them should have the most difficult time when it comes time for their alleged re-election. I would like to invite your attention to an exceptionally well prepared A/V message that is energizing the conservatives across the nation (as well as those who former liberals who were duped by Obama) by visiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0bh77k2Wdk and do turn your speakers up as the musical selection is first rate! You will have to read the actual message but the pictures and music brings it all together for America.

My most significant concern is whether or not we can wait that long for elections in November 2010 and again in 2012. If those with the means come to the definite conclusion that we can’t, we could be waiting to elect conservatives while they unleash the 2nd American Revolution.

Here's the dirty little secret – it is not about healthcare – it's about power and control. The Dems are creating an entire new voting block for themselves and the whole goal of the bill isn't to decrease costs etc they absolutely know what they are doing …..costs go up, companies can't afford it etc … so those rotten greedy health insurance companies just can't be trusted, the Government needs to take it over !! This bill was only the first phase of their master plan – universal/single payer/government run healthcare ….

This crazy bunch of idoits in the obambbba regime, may I say is the fought of the white AMERICANS. It's true we whites have more on the government take than blacks.

We whites stood around and did nothing while the regime paid for their votes to the white house. This group in the white house is pushing bill after bill through that is helping their dem-o -crats cause. THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA!

It's the health care, the mexican votes, the cuban votes, the pureto rica votes, the union votes, the acorn votes, the social groupies that suck the government teet.

    60. James J Hoppman Dubu says:

In a rush to save U.S citzens from bad insurance companies and this is what we end up with. First of all, insurance companies are not in the business to deny coverage, but to find coverage. Yes, there are some questionable companies, but overall I would rather negoiate with them than the U.S. Government. Bigger government costs U.S taxpayers their monies. At least, with private sector companies they have to compete for your business. When the government takes over there is no competition just taxpayers deep pockets. Captioned business creates a moral hazard. Just like, pre-exisiting condition coverage and insurance overall. When individuals do not have skin in the game their attitude is see a doctor and do not worry about the cost or is it necessary. When it becomes their own monies than people educate themselves on cost and is medical attention necessary.

    61. repeal&replaceit says:

What can we, as the American people, can help the GOP to repeal this disgusting bill?

If obama the Liar in Chief can use some dirty pens to sign a piece of garbage, we the American people, together we can repeal and replace it.

CBO is also in the game with the obama administration to push this bill down to our throat. If they have the conscience, they would put the true cost number to the public before the bill got passed!

    62. Matthew C , Santa Ba says:

Obamacare is purely destructive by design . Anyone with half a brain cell knows pursuing the passage of this law was assinine from it's conception . It is beyond explanation why with the continuing dead economy ANY administration would waste soooo much energy and time NOT concentrating on getting 'small businesses' flourishing again . Clearly the 'stimulus package' was not designed to do that . This waste of an administration has GOT to go in 2012 and congress properly douched in November ….

I am in absolute agreement with EVERYTHING you wrote in your commentary. We are being controlled by evil persons in the White House and Congress. I believe the politically incorrect word for them is "traitors." Keep those excellent comments coming.

P.S. Big Brother Obama and Dear Leader Pelosi are probably making a list of names, and perhaps their future minions will make use of such a list to further control us. I for one, however, am never ashamed or afraid to affix my name and location to a comment that I post, come hell and/or high political waters.

    64. Troy Cox says:

Once again mo0re rhetoric from small minds. Just one major point penalties are only paid if you do not abide by the law. So how anyone can arbitrarily decide that 18 million Americans can pay a penalty when in fact it will be years before that part of the law is in effect. I am not surprised to see that most of the comments here are negative towards Obama. Once again the GOP forgets that in their last eight years of control they decimated the banking system, destroyed the big three in their efforts to line their pockets with lobbyist money. And now that the economy has gained strength and the big three have risen from the ashes in less than 18 months they must focus on another aspect of Obama's short but incredibly productive term. And as usual once the dust settles we will see that this system will work better than one that allows insurance companies decide on who lives and dies. Also when we talk about cost figure out the true cost of not having our citizens under care. And oh all of the CEO's on Wall Street are GOP supporters and donations no wonder the GOP refuses to force reform down their throats that would hurt their pockets. Talk about liars cheats and thieves then you are obviously talking about the GOP.

    65. Matt Erkert, The Lan says:

"It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be to-morrow." James Madison – Federalist No. 62 – 1788

"On every unauthoritative exercise of power by the legislature must the people rise in rebellion or their silence be construed into a surrender of that power to them. If so, how many rebellions should we have had already?" Thomas Jefferson – Notes on Virginia, Query XII – 1782

    66. Guillermo Rodriguez, says:

I read these posts and I just laugh. The once mighty United States of America has been taken down by Socialist and Mexican Revolutionaries from within itself. You pathetic wimps and cowards stood by and watched them take God out of the schools, and then everything else they want Him taken out of. You let them make it legal to murder innocent babies for pleasure. You let lazy bums drain your tax dollars with free housing, food, liquor and drugs. Force Gay is ok in the name of diversity. And now you stand idly by why they take away your freedoms and annex your country to Mexico. You are pathetic. The revolution has started.

I get so-oo sick of hearing about when we vote Obama out in 2012!! What will our country be like if he is in there until then? It's already unrecognizable!! We need to legally get him out now! He and anyone who won't stand against him for any reason they want to give, are either ignorant or anti-american!! They are continuously for the rights of illegals over the rights of Americans. Are all of us doing all we can to get the word out about all that he is about? Obama utilized the world wide web to his advantage to get elected. Maybe we can use the same tool to start to take our country back.
