Yesterday, Professor Todd Zywicki from the George Mason School of Law joined Heritage’s David John and American Enterprise Institute’s Alex J. Pollock for a panel titled, “Protecting Consumers in the Financial Marketplace: Thinking Outside the Boxes [1]“. The discussion centered around the proposed financial regulations and a possible Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA).

After the panel, Professor Zywicki, a Senior Scholar of the Mercatus Center and contributor to the popular legal blog The Volokh Conspiracy [2],  sat down with us for an “In the Green Room [3]” segment. We talked about the problems we face if Congress enacts the CFPA, the real causes behind our current financial crisis, and what principles should undergird real financial regulatory reform.
