Congressman Rob Bishop (R-UT) stopped by The Heritage Foundation today to meet with bloggers at The Blogger’s Briefing. Before the meeting, he sat down with us to talk about the Supreme Court taking up the Chicago gun-ban case and a possible move by the Department of the Interior to give up to 17 areas of land in the West the restrictive “national monument designation”.
We also discussed his concerns about the EPA’s decision to regulate CO2 emissions, which he characterized as “legislative function which is being usurped by the Executive Branch.” This is an issue about which Heritage is also concerned and on which we have written extensively.
Does anyone doubt what Obama and the left are attempting with all three of the above matters.
Throughout history, the first act of a totalitarian government is to conficate all firearms. His 250,000 man army is standing by.
Everyone of those 17 of areas of Western lands (millions of acres) has large
deposits of oil and gas, enough to make this country energy independent for decades. Anyone doubt why Obama confircated it?
The EPA is just another tool Obama is attempting to use to destory our
American way of life by focing useless CO2 regs down our throws. Not by
Congress, but by using the EPA like an attach dog. Then when the blow back
hit Obama in his face, he will deflect blame and throw the EPA director under the bus.
What? So this Congressman believes the Constitution can be subordinated by a State regulatory or legislative action? We need to TEST every single elected official that holds up their hand and swears an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States…..if they can’t pass it by demonstrating a complete and thorough understanding of this document, they shouldn’t be allowed to hold office.
These people aren't in compliance with rules and laws. They're big, bully radicals who couldn't follow a rule if their life depended on it or if their mother asked them to. The rules they continue to make are ignorant to fact and liberties..
If obama can't respect this country, overcome and move on in peace and freedom, we all pay the penalty. All it takes is this man's actions and all consequences put on the rest.
(FYI) 'this man" includes all millions in this country, behind him.
We can see where his actions are going to take us. we're half way there.
