Yesterday, the Daily Caller posted a story on its website about the confusion on Capitol Hill on both sides of the aisle about the future of Obamacare. It featured a quote from Congressman Heath Shuler (D-NC) on the White House’s healthcare strategy:
“I was actually surprised that they’re pushing it again. The most important thing is jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs. We need to focus on jobs,” said Rep. Heath Shuler, North Carolina Democrat and a leader of the 54-member Blue Dog coalition of conservative Democrats.
Rep. Shuler is right. Finding sensible solutions which would bolster the economy and create jobs should have been a major focus of an Administration which has spent the better part of this year advocating for a massive deficit-busting stimulus bill and a disastrous healthcare reform overhaul.
And, as Heritage’s Rea Hederman wrote yesterday, the uncertainty among many business owners about the future this Administration’s proposed regulation (on healthcare, energy, etc.) goes along way to stunting economic recovery and job creation.

I'm not at all surprise that this administration keeps pursuing Obamacare to the detriment of all else, instead of focusing on what matters most to Americans right now, which is jobs. I wish I could believe the best about this president but he seems determined to pass this fiscally irresponsible and very unpopular piece of legislation and I ask myself, "Why?" Why is he so willing to ignore the will of the people, ignore economists who say this will be catastrophic for our economy, and ignore what Americans are screaming for which is a job-rich economy?
Heath Shuler may talk a good game, but he has cost us MANY jobs here in Western North Carolina. I know, this is my home.
