That led Iraq to invade Iran in 1980 and prompted the other Arab gulf states to form the Gulf Cooperation Council to protect themselves against Iranian subversion. Iran also has supported terrorism in Lebanon, Israel, Afghanistan and in Argentina. It continues to occupy three islands claimed by the United Arab Emirates: Abu Musa and the Tunbs. The government continues to commit savage crimes against the Iranian people. And Israel may have the most lethal and sophisticated ballistic missile force, but if you look at the numbers, Iran's is bigger. Maybe the Iranian regime would not be treated as an enemy if it freed the jailed American prisoners, stopped supporting groups killing Americans in Iraq and AFghanistan, stopped lying about its nuclear program, stopped threatening to destroy Israel, and stopped committing crimes against its own people.
