  • Baby, It's Cold Outside

The frigidly cold weather has resulted in power outages, crop damage, book burning to stay warm, and of course, global warming jokes. “Where’s all that global warming now?” or “I could really use some of that global warming.” Minnesotans have been saying that for years. According to some scientists, we may see a longer cooling trend:

The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.

Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in summer by 2013.

According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this.”

Climate scientist Mojib Latif, who is such a strong believer that global warming is problem he previously said, “If my name was not Mojib Latif, my name would be global warming” had this to say about global temperatures:

They have now gone into reverse, so winters like this one will become much more likely. Summers will also probably be cooler, and all this may well last two decades or longer. The extreme retreats that we have seen in glaciers and sea ice will come to a halt. For the time being, global warming has paused, and there may well be some cooling.”

One cold winter does not indicate we’re headed for the next ice age, just as an abnormally hot summer, a hurricane or a drought are results of global warming. It does show how unsettled the scientific dispute is and how far off base the near-term predictions of 20-foot level sea rises and increased natural disasters are made from the Al Gores of the world. Manmade or not, there are problems associated with climate change, but there are even bigger problems associated with the policies designed to prevent a warmer world – most notably the aggregate GDP losses will be $9.4 trillion, the job losses of 2.5 million and the impact of a few tenths of a degree that it will on the earth’s temperature. Talk about a real disaster.

No suprise after climate gate … real scientists (not warmers) are being heard

    2. Kathleen says:

Someone needs to tell Al Gore he's WRONG!

    3. Bill - Forney, TX says:

What this shows is that man DOES NOT control the environment. While we MAY have some impact on temperatures on the order of a tenth of a degree or so a century, larger forces which we do not understand are at work here. NONE of the experts' climate models of 1999, in particular the infamous graph predicting an increasing global temperature trend, predicted the average temperature DECREASE we have seen the past (3) years. The reason was that the experts' models were not based on sound scientific process. Yet they all signed on w/ Chicken AL and the alarmists and have whole continents changing their way of life. Facts: the average ocean temperatures have DECREASED the last (3) years – destroying the cornerstone of the global warming theory; atmospheric CO2 was 3-5 times higher during the last ICE AGE than it is now – does CO2 in the atmosphere actually correlate w/ temperature?; global temperatures have had about a 40-year cycle with a slight upward/warming trend since the last mini-ice age 500 years ago – we weren't driving cars 200 years ago; more precise measurements of atmospheric CO2 vs. temps show CO2 increases LAG temperature increases – more CO2 is present after the temps warm because it is driven out of the oceans by higher temps, but what caused the higher temps? Al Gore's trend in his movie was WRONG. You won't see this reported or discussed in the media because it is an inconvenient truth. Instead, "global warming" is subtly changed to "climate change" so the "experts" can never be wrong.

    4. Mark Lokowich says:

Robert Gibbs repeat after me… "global warming is a bunch of crap!" Please pass that along.

I am 82 years old and I still remember the very cold days and nights and very hot ones as well on this continent and where Iwas born and raised.

    7. Richard Harvey, Char says:

For me, global warming started to lose ground when Al Gore said sea levels would rise when the ice caps melt. Hogwash. Water levels go down when ice melts. Then the British made him reveal 9 "key" errors in his documentary before they would let it be shown in schools over there. If you want to catch a scam artist or a crook, just follow the money.

    8. philip hilliker says:

Politians will have to find another way to spread their propagranda. Poor Al Gore he will have to go white.

    9. Jeanne Stotler, Wood says:

We have been having a ball asking "where is the Global Warming" I know it's going to show on our next gas bill. Anyone who went to school in the 30's,40's and 50's should have heard about the rotation of the planets and the cycles it goes through. I am all for recycling, we did it during WWII, we can reuse most anything. We always had a garden, therefore a compost pile, I return used plastic, including newspaper bags to a recycling bin in Wal-MArt, these are used to make decking material, every week I put out my papers, cans, plastic and glass. Everyone should live by the theory "WAste Not, Want Not". I tell my grandchildren about living during WWII, rationing, no new tires etc. Kids today do not know what it is to do without or make do. My mother would cut the toes out of my shoes so I could wear them until new rationing coupons were available, we also canned food to last through the winter, we had chickens, so we saved ration points on chicken and eggs, we also sold eggs and young fryers. Guess that is how I learned to "make do"

    10. Lynn Bryant DeSpain says:

I fully hoped to see, but did not expect, "Where's Al Gore?" signs posted all over our Nation during this last Cold Front!

    11. john koss says:

Live in West Tennessee. Just had a mockingbird bust its beak on the ice in my 40 gallon bird bath.(just kidding) Been in the teens for the last week. Originally from Buffalo New York. Family states it's as cold as the year of the Blizzard of 77. Don't want to see that anymore. Hope Al Gore has plenty of Natural gas and Electricity to heat, cool and power ohh…..ohhh forget that all he has to do is practice one of his speeches and he could generate enough Hot Air to warm his house for the winter. In all seriousness, been around 57 years, like the old timers befor me said: "Don't like the weather? Stick around it will change." Besides shouldn't we be worrying more about that 2012 thing? After that "Who gives a ….!!! Be back Be Safe and Godspeed..

    12. Drew Page, IL says:

There are still far too many who are sold on this man-made global warming nonsense. It's being taught in the schools as fact and non-believers are treated as members of the 'flat earth' society by those preaching the gospel according to Al Gore.

Honest scientific disagreement with the concept of man-made global warming generates more than just scorn among the true believers. Those upholding the theory of man-made global warming are making their case in much the same fashion as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are making the case for national health care, behind closed doors, with no dissenting opinions.

    13. Bob Kalb, Petersburg says:

Al Gore, and people like him, need to be held accountable for what they say and publish.

    14. Bob Lambert, Elmira, says:

Al Gore is right…for him! At last count his "global warming" investments have earned him upward of $300 million and earned him a Nobel Prize, placing him among such notables as Yassar Arafat, a gun-toting thug who robbed his people blind.

I live in the Finger Lakes area of upstate NY. 20,000 years ago, my home was under a sheet of ice one mile thick and stretching down into the Virginias. 12,000 years ago, for some reason, global warming occurred…without much human intervention…and the glacier receded, fortuitously digging out the Finger Lakes which have become a great boon for tourism in the area. I have nothing but contempt for Al Gore, Obama and all the other politicians and the "rent a scientist" folks who are trying to cash in on this craze. This planet Earth has its own immutable rythems and cycles despite the arrogance of folks who think that in their 100 +/- years they can alter it. Let's worry about jobs and the economy…something than CAN be affected by the right leadership.

    15. Jonno Australia says:

Trust us, Global warming is happening in Australia.

Its just that the United Nations have turned on the The Large Hadron Collider, and turned the weather around in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Australian collider is fast coming with all the data you need on global warming.

Unfortunately, ours is only a small unit and we havent yet worked out how to reverse the heating cycle. When we do, it will be full on, as long as the birds with breadcrumbs, which screwed up the larger ones dont mess it up locally.

Our top weather scientists from the CSIRO were sacked as they couldnt see it happening. Obviously the people who hired them were under political influence or something out of a bottle whne they did.
