  • The Health Care Fight is Not Over

Although the left has been celebrating the passage of Obamacare in the Senate as further evidence that the President’s health care reform initiative is a done deal the health care reform fight is not over. The truth is that this bill can not yet be transmitted to the President until very different versions of Obamacare are reconciled. The House and Senate must agree on what to send to the President for his signature before this fight is over.

There are key differences between the House and Senate approaches to Obamacare as explained by Nina Owcharenko and Robert E. Moffit, Ph.D. in a paper published by the Heritage Foundation lists 6 key differences between the two bills. Procedurally, the House passed a version of Obamacare with a public option, an income surtax and with strong language forbidding the use of federal monies to fund abortion. The Senate chose not to take up the House bill and passed a version of Obamacare with no public option, taxes on expensive health care plans and with weak language forbidding the use of federal funds for abortion. Sens. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) have since blocked the appointment of conferees to reconcile the differing versions of Obamacare. The options liberals have to get the bill to the President’s desk are therefore limited.

The Senate refused to take up the House bill and many claimed that the House bill was dead on arrival in the Senate. Presumably the Senate bill can’t pass the House, because of the more liberal abortion language, the radically different tax provisions and the lack of a public option. That leaves a so called “ping-pong” strategy where the House can either take up and pass the Senate version of Obamacare or they can take up the Senate bill, amend it, then send it back to the Senate. The Senate would then have the same option: take up and pass or amend and send back to the House. This ping-pong between chambers can happen a few times before the issue loses steam or the bill gets sent back and forth too many times to comply with the rules of the House and Senate.

Don’t forget that the American people absolutely hate this bill. Owcharenko and Moffit write “even if concessions and compromises can be made between the Senate and House versions, public opinion is solidifying against the legislation. A recent Rasmussen poll found that only 34 percent of voters say passing a health care bill is better than doing nothing. This is on the heels of a CNN poll that found 61 percent opposed to the bill and a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll that found that only 32 percent think the health care bills are a “good idea.” Even though both the House and Senate have passed very unpopular bills, it is possible that some of these members will actually listen to their constituents and realize that support for this initiative may be the functional equivalent of political suicide.

Any way you slice it, Obamacare still has a difficult path to the President’s desk, because either the Senate or the House will have to back away from their position on important issues. The liberals are 75% down the road to government control of health care, yet they still need to make it that last 25% of the way. For those who have given up hope, you may be correct to say that this is a done deal, but many Members of Congress would have to back away from strong policy stands on the public option, taxes on health care plans, and abortion for Obamacare to get to President Obama’s desk in time for a victory lap at his State of the Union speech.

SOMETHING will pass. From what we just witnessed, it is only a matter of how much money, special favors now or later, or threats, dirty laundry made public, etc. I would put NOTHING past these people.

THEY ignored constitutional issues and voted for the present bill. If they will go to THAT extreme than ANYTHING is possible, indeed, likely.

This does not mean to give up. On the contrary, it means to fight harder than ever before. It means keeping the public interest engaged and stoked until the Nov. elections.

How much more wealth will be re-distributed from the American taxpayers, not just here but abroad to foriegn countries and entities like the UN?

These stubborn ideologues will take this country to financial ruin and then blame everyone else – before they admit they were wrong and stop spending. Highway robbery is going on and there is not a thing we can do about it.

Whatever is passed will still result in screwing up this country and wasting countless billions.

Better keep a close eye on the coming Census and "far left community organization groups".

At this point, I'm more concerned with massive election fraud than anything else.

Remember, MOST of the "stimulus" money has not been spent yet! Why is that?

    2. Randy,SA TX says:

people plz remember when anyone says the we need less goverment tht means that we the people need to get out of the way.dont for get tht goverment means we the people.big biz wants all the goverment for themselfs.

    3. AntonioSosa says:

The stench of the lies, manipulation, intimidation, coercion, bribery, and backroom deals to force us to swallow the Obamacare SCAM — which will destroy our health care, our economy, our freedoms and our country — has forever tainted the Democratic party.

Thinking Americans understand there's no longer a Democratic Party. The Democratic Party has been replaced by the Marxist party, bent on destroying America.

    4. AntonioSosa says:

The Obamacare bills were conceived and written by Obama and his ACORN friends before Obama became President.

Robert Creamer, a CONVICTED FELON and Obama’s ACORN associate, outlined the guidelines for the Obamacare SCAM in his 2007 book, “Stand Up Straight: How Progressives Can Win.”

As per those guidelines, Obama and his comrades don't care about the "components of the plan." All they want is CONTROL over our health care and our lives.

As per Creamer’s book, the main objective of Obamacare is only to increase the power of "progressives" (Marxists) through the “democratization of wealth” (socialism/Marxim) as per the teachings of Saul Alinsky. They created the health care crisis to enslave us!

Creamer wrote in his 2007 book:

      * “We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right.”

      * “We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”

      * “Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health insurance industry and focusing on the failure of private health insurance.”

      * “We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”

As per those guidelines, Obama and his comrades will agree to ANYTHING to get their scam approved. They don't care about the "components of the plan."

They want complete power as that of the Marxist thugs who are destroying Latin America. They plan to increase their power through the “democratization of wealth” (socialism/Marxism).

    5. R. George Dunn says:

Time changes a lot of power base deals. By the time the objected conferee ping pong efforts are completed, the people will have their spittle's red hot and ready to use.

Then there is the rule change in the HCR caught by Senator Jim DeMint, that by Senate Rule calls for a 67 vote total to pass the Resolution. That was not honored and is subject to U. S. District Court proceedings, thus moving the timeline down the road again.

There are now at least ten State AG's adding their name to a list of inquiry of the Constitutional premise of the HCR, in several facts of inquiry. This is a paramount move by States to challenge the unconstitutional conduct of DC. Don't know if it has been done before but in the burning camp fires of the Patriots this is a resounding Hoorahhh~ States are waking up to their Sovereignty out of necessity.

Their are Caucus and other groups forming strategy to bring the HCR to Court. The groundswell continues as the facts of the HCR fly out over hyperspace, the only place of Truth to be found and it is waking up the masses on both sides of the isle.

The best cure for more affordability is to have States' mandate consumer directed health plans, HSAs.
      http://bit.ly/8e47Qa http://bit.ly/8K1tsv http://bit.ly/8qInsw

If you add to that plan an IRA, it will empower the individual to be competitive, will provide a much lower Health plan cost by the young people contributing. They too will get old one day. Or states can go the capitalist route and demand you find a job to pay for your own plan. That will entail the changing of the Tax structure so we can get jobs back to the USA, namely implementing the FairTax Plan.

Then there is Scott Brown, whose running in the race in MA to replace Ted Kennedy. His ground swell went National on Sunday 12/27th and Patriots everywhere are joining up on the evident confidence that if State Senator Brown is elected, that would give the GOP a 41 vote filibuster proof. http://bit.ly/7SM0XA

My constant wonder is how cuffed the Inspector Generals are. The first one to hit the fan, fired for doing his job, has left the news silent on Inspectors and all the corruption in the hyperspace, proof positive, and nothing is done. Maybe the States need to form their own watch dog AG.

Who know if the Stimulus money is not being used, and just not reported? With that kind of funding, one could mastermind quite a plan of evil powermongering.

It is time to get the GOP on the stick and have them repent of their unconstitutional conduct, take classes on the Constitution and make it required reading for every American, classrooms most of all.

    6. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

Whatever federal healthcare takeover legislation that ends up on Obama's desk is still an abomination. Both the house and senate versions will not change the final bill's constitutional transgression.

    7. Bobbie Jay says:

It IS amazing no one seems to care that as soon as Obama mentions health care reform, there's a 2000 page health reform bill, already written up. It has been a belief they have been conjuring this up for quite some time. Even before obama was recognized nationally. Obama stated this was his plan, so it is right to agree, it has taken it's initial course during Obama's community organizing days…

This is OUR HEALTH of OUR LIVES, it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY. not GOVERNMENT'S IRRESPONSIBILITY. It was a danger from the start and it has corrected to include loopholes and more deceit and danger. NO TRUST in this administration in doing anything right for the people.

    8. Bobbie Jay says:

    9. Annette, Ohio says:

My daily ritual includes calling and emailing senators to no avail in regards to health care. I am also insisting that my State of Ohio Attorney General investigate the constitutionality of this bill. But, going forward, there are avenues in the country currently that could be the vehicle by which to contain this regime (Obamanation). The most recent one is GOOOH featured on Fox news. Check it out.

    10. Keith somewhere in t says:

Even if this monstrosity becomes law, possibilities of civil disobedience and constitutional challenges to it remain.

    11. Lloyd Scallan - New says:

We had all better understand that both the House and the Senate leaders are willing to sacrifice

any members of their respective chambers to pass this OBAMANATION. They know full well that even if they loose the Democratic majorties, the likelihood of repealing this bill is almost non-existent. God only knows what type of hidden guaranteed, personal enrichment deals were made so that Senators like Landrieu and Nelson will be set for life. That's why our elected officals do not and will not listen to their consistutents.

    12. Bob, Portland, OR says:

      Health care?

More like union kick backs and pension guarantees.

It never was about covering the so called millions who didn't have coverage, a large part of which elected not to do so.

By the way, the last time I checked, all those millions do get health care "Treatment".

No my friends it is about stealing as much of our disposable income as they can. You know, the income that we work hard for, we use to go on vacations, buy a new car every 5 years, put money away for our kids college, pay off our houses and retire.

The desire for disposable income is the driving force behind our economy, it fuels prosperity and a want for a better life.

"Disposable" income creates jobs, pays taxes, and is an incredible instrument for teaching our children that they can have "the American dream" as well.

The only thing Obama and his clan are teaching our children is that business is bad, profits are evil and that we owe something to someone else.

John F. Kennedy once said, "Ask not, what your country can do for you, but rather, what you can do for your country".

You see, he says it right there in the first nine words, "Ask not, what your country can do for you".

In other words don't expect "the country" to take care of you by paying your bills, or providing health care.

These evil people, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Obama, etc, don't care about the uninsured, they never have and they never will.

They care about themselves and the utopia that will exist, for them, when the only prosperity we Americans have left is asking them for favors.

One by One, they must be elected out of office and we can never forget who they are and what they tried to do to our great nation.

    14. John Clancy, Wyan.MI says:

In case our senators and reps in Washington do not know what President Obama and the thugs around him are up to, I think we should send them information from sources that are dealing with REALITY. Couldn't they be mentally in la la land from drinking the drive-by-media cool aid? Do they know that the Obama plan is to fully control our health, our schools and universities, and our sources of energy. These moves are designed to put us in chains. Maybe our senators DO KNOW what our president is up to, but they figure they will remain in the elite category and exempted! If so, let's remind them that we will take steps to remove them in 2010 and 2012.

    15. Corky says:

Got news for the administration..WE THE PEOPLE will not give up the fight! If you continue to FORCE this healthcare on us we will not obey you. You are only going to make things worse and YOU will be the ones to pay for it. obama (I refuse to capitalize his name)is the single worst president this Country has ever had. Everything out of his mouth is a lie. Hell, he's worse than Jimmy Carter!!! Now that's bad! Come on my fellow AMERICAN'S "Let's do this!"

    16. Larry Welch, Idaho says:

Randy of SA,TX quotes the first three words of The Constitution Of The United States; "We the People". He then goes on to imply that we all claim the current federal legislative efforts as our own – even in the face of overwhelming and repeated rejection of those efforts by "we the people". It's time to wake up, Randy; you might want to start that process by reading the rest of the Constitution.

    17. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

The congressional demagogues currently in power used "We the people …" to their devious advantage. They successfully got masses of stupid uninformed voters to rally behind the majorities' very stupid and unconstitutional health care takeover legislation. Fact is, congress has a sworn responsibility to act as stewards guarding the constitution's founding principles of freedom and independence.

    18. Gordon Brown Keller says:

Congress has proved they will take a payback, rob from the public, and abort the constitution. Belive me, Pelosi and Reid will buy off anyone with the peoples money to get the health bill finalized. It is going to take a major revolution!

    19. Pat, Florida says:

I don't think Obama can do any victory dance about much of anything. He has spent the last 8 or 9 months working night and day on legislation that does not fall under the auspices, and on Christmas Day, he got called on something that actually was the federal government's responsibility and failed miserably. It is time we reign these folks in and stop letting them use the constitution to play some kind of shell game to try to circumvent state rights and the people's rights. They don't seem able to even do the things they are responsible for properly.

    20. susan, ks says:

Lets initiate a recall of all house of represatives, independents and senators that voted for the healthcare bill!

    21. John Glendenning MN says:

I have called both senator's offices. I asked this: Since the senator so enthusiastically supported the health care plan, are you, staffer, and the senator going to participate in the plan. Answer: We don't know. So I asked again: Is the senator recommending you and the senator take this health care plan since it was so enthusiastically supported. It is a simple yes or no answer. A wishy washy response followed. I suggest that all of us call our congress people and ask them. So, if it is such a wonderful health care bill, should not each congress person leap into the breach and take the plan??

    22. tucanofulano, calif, says:

If the OMB is correct, and it is using very optimistic assumptions, the USA will be totally bankrupt within 5 years, and Americans will have to eat dirt to survive.

    23. randy,sa tx says:

Larry, u r exactly y democracy does not work.We won the seats in the house and senate with an overwheling majority, but cant accept that ur party lost. and complain on everything that my party is doing.so larry seat back and watch us change america forever.

    24. VIctor Gonzales, Ari says:

When the government stops listening to the people it is time for the people to stop sending their money to the government. We need a movement to stop witholding our taxes and refuse to pay by the millions. Mybe when there is no income they will understand the meaning of a government of the people and realize we are not a people of the government.

Either that or some states need to buck up and refuse to comply . I know Ill be moving as fast as I can to any state that does so.

    25. Earl, QUEENS, NY says:

We often hear of the controversy over taxpayer funded abortion. But what about benefits for same-sex couples? Will we have to pay for this too? I don’t complain so much about quiet private homosexual people per se. But I oppose their militant leaders, who try to encourage, and demand legislative respect for, their lifestyle. Clearly we now see much moral decay, and the Bible is far from silent on these issues.

Last week, an irate pro-abortionist wrote a nasty letter to the NY Post, telling us pro-lifers to shut up and mind our own business. Well, his ilk should do likewise!! We’ve heard about militant feminists and population control advocates who seem upset about the decline in abortions. I’m usually ‘live and let live’, but I fear God, and what will happen if we continue to allow the killing of unborn infants. Likewise, I fear what God can do to our society if militant LGBT leaders succeed with their agenda – promoting moral decay….On the other hand, it’s none of governments’ (or fringe groups’) business what we eat, whether we smoke, what kind of light bulbs we use, what kind of cars we drive, etc. Likewise, let adults decide whether to use safety belts, and let us decide whether we want (costly with dubious value) air bags in our cars!! FINALLY, IT’S NONE OF GOVERNMENT’S BUSINESS WHETHER WE HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE, AND GOVERNMENT HAS NO BUSINESS RUNNING HEALTH CARE, PERIOD!!

      Randy, SA, TX,

It is not about accepting that YOUR party won. We heard that from Pelosi, remember?

It's what is right for America. The Dems cannot complain about bi-partsianship when they lock out the Repubs and table SANE recommendations. You can't have it both ways.

You may like the idea of an expanded government takeover providing for your every need. The price will be your loss of freedoms.

If you think socialism/marxism is good that is your right. Millions of Americans will fight against this at every step. That is our right.

YOUR party is setting a new standard for what might as well be corruption at every turn. You may stay barely within the law but your abuse of power will sow even deeper division.

And, Pelosi and the far left have the nerve to talk about WHO is "Un-American"?

What we need is a list of tactics at this point that will gum up the works and derail the plan. People who know the weak points, and know what will work to jam this up need to start publishing tactics that the rest of us can use. Let's face it we pay the bills and it would become almost impossible to put thousands if not millions of us in jail.
