You don’t hear President Barack Obama make this promise anymore, but when he was first selling his health insurance plan, Obama repeatedly promised the American people: “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.” Lost in the November 18th Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) version of Obamacare, was the CBOs latest confirmation that Obama’s statement is blatantly false.
Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee Ranking Member Mike Enzi (R-WY) asked the CBO to clarify their analysis of employer-based coverage changes and this week the CBO wrote back:
We estimate that between 9 million and 10 million other people who would be covered by an employment-based plan under current law would not have an offer of such coverage under the proposal.
The plain English translation of the above CBO speak is: “Under Obamacare, employers will dump 10 million of their employees out of their current coverage whether they like it or not.” No wonder Obama has stopped making his “if you like your health care you can keep it” promise.

lets not forget people like me who save TONS of money by paying for my own doctor bills and carrying a high deductible plan. I used to be one of the idiots paying for the bells and whistles. The money I saved on premiums had my high deductible covered in less than two years and now I save thousands about 4 thousand dollars a year on my healthcare.
With new mandates for minimum coverage my insurance will be gone. I consider keeping my plan the same as keeping my premiums. These new mandates will not allow my plan to exist much less my premiums.
How many millions are there like me that will be priced out?
If my plan disappears and they expect me to pay more in premiums for coverage that I don't want to subsidize others you can just call me John Galt from that day on as i will cancel my coverage and continue to pay for the small stuff and my yearly jailable fine and if something tragic happens I will just go to the emergency room.
I REFUSE to be punished for making the best possible decisions with my finances and health to care for those not competent enough to do the same.
Who is John Galt?
Paying the fine is accepting punishment. If enough individual citizens simply say "NO" to these money grabbing schemes and refuse to pay anything, government will be forced to stop what they're doing. They can not put hundreds of thousands of people in jail, although I suppose they could try. If so, they'll have a much bigger problem on their hands.
Unfortunately, 10 million is just the tip of the iceberg . . . The Endgame is for nobody to have private insurance after 10 years or so. Welcome to HE!!.
Wake the hell up AMERICA!! How long are you going to put up with this highway robbery? This healthcare bill is wrong. I agree we need some "repairs" made to our existing system and that is something that could be worked on and it would not COST TRILLIONS of dollars. These people in Washington are committing fraud, treason and crimes against the PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES. They are selling this Country OUT!
So I'd like to understand the CBO scoring? Either it includes the illegal aliens or it doesn't? If it doesn't, does that mean they are subject to being jailed for not having coverage? (Remember the argument was that not having coverage meant the rest of Americans had to pay for their emergency room visits, right?)
If it does–then shouldn't they be talking about this coverage covering the "46 million" Americans who weren't covered, as well as the 10 million who will be losing their coverage?
Most of the premises of this bill are just so wrong–but they can only be demonstrated through the absurd, cause they are so absurd!!
Figure out how to reduce the cost (not price) of healthcare, and more people will buy it. Nothing in the current bills accomplishes that so as a result, it will surely result in other significant problems–like bankrupting the nation.
Have I mentioned, for the first time in my adult life I am no longer proud to be a citizen of this government?
We need to demand the Constitution be amended and set term limits for these a@@es.

Noone should pay the fine. There should be a class action lawsuit against the gov't with 100,000 people on it saying that these fines are unconstitutional. Victor is a responsible American citizen, our gov't should not be punishing people like him, this makes me mad as hell, I email my dead beat Senators daily on this!
what else can liberal do? When the lie is nationaly rebuked it serves no further purpose. Even Mao-Bama doesn't like to have his lies exposed on the world stage. It's quite an embarrassing moment.
More absence of hope and change anyone?
I pay most of my medical bills directly to the doctor in cash and have a high deductible plan to cover catastrophic injury or illness.
But if things keep going the way they are, I'll vote to return to the days when people paid in chickens or eggs or a trade for services. It's a better plan than anything coming out of Congress.
Why am I not surprised…politics make me cynical toward career politicians especially progressive, specifically Democrats.
I'm for term-limits, no pay after second term, or NO retirement plan nor benefits for career politicians. Any term above two would require the politician to con a retirement from their home- state.
That would be a start.
Those that are aware are few and the media is complicit in this fraud. Want to make a difference turn off your TV. Better yet a massive campaign to inform the Progressives like Couric, Gibson et al that we have stopped watching them because of their intentional distortions and half truths. Nothing foments change like hurting them in the pocket book….
We the people lets take over washingto dc and save the consitution and america these polical leaders are not listing to we the people
I aggree with MarryAnn.
I wonder if they have thought about a revolt like not paying the fine and sending hundreds of thousands of people to jail.
