When President Barack Obama made his most recent big health care speech in September, he promised the American people his plan would cost only $900 billion. It took almost three months, but Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) finally produced a bill that CBO was willing to score at $848 billion. Problem is, the bill is filled with so many gimmicks that nobody believes that $848 billion score is the true cost of the bill. And yesterday on the Senate floor, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) actually admitted it. Watch:
And pay particular attention to what Baucus says at the beginning of the clip about excluding the cost of the doc fix. Add that $300 billion to the bill and the true cost of Obamacare rises to almost $3 trillion.

Stuff like this makes a used car salesman look quite respectable.
I hope this bill will be the undoing of my former state senator.

This is peanuts.
Wait until illegal aliens are given amnesty and the real numbers swell by countless billions.
Wait until we have to SUSTAIN this madness AFTER the much ballyhooed "10" years.
This is utter insanity.
This WILL result in government intrusion into every facet of your life they don't already intrude upon.
Beware of Government Grifters.

Wake up people… GDP equals approximately $16 trillion, debt equals approximately $14 trillion, Obamacare will cost $2.5 trillion per 10 years in perpetuity, unfunded social programs (SS, Medicare, Medicaid, etc) are bankrupting the United States. In no way does the aforementioned help provide for the "general welfare." These programs will make your children slaves to the Federal Government. They are unconstitutional for so many reasons: (i) equal protection for the young against the old (Amnd 14), (ii) executive branch helped draft the bill (Art. 1 Sec. 1), (iii) commerce is construed to mean anything (Federalist 41, and Madison on Alien Sedition Acts), (iv) healthcare provision is not an enumerated power (Art. 1 Sec 8), (v) Compelling people to purchase insurance (Amnd 9, 10); (vi) using IRS records to fine and imprison those who do not pay for insurance (Amnd 4)… the list goes on and on. Your children will be slaves to your parents and the government… contact your senators NOW.
My head is still spinning! what did he say and why?
He looks like another rat double-talking and scaring U.S. with the price tag.
In one year U.S. spent 1 one trillion dollars on wars that the people don't want But 1 one trillion dollars over ten years is too much for U.S The People need to be protected from the professional politician the rats in our House. The lobbiest who think they run Congress with their money. The fatcats who make the health care decisions in the Medical insurance co for U.S and only see profit not care!
PEACE GBA
Why is this news? By this point in time, if ANYONE
cannot, or will not, reconize WHAT the Democrats and Obama want to "transform" this country into, they never will. Every lie the Democrats tell is to support Obama and Obama want to destroy our American way of life.
The current plan will undoubtedly cause the collapse of many hospitals, nursing homes and countless other health care providers. we have baby boomer docs and nurses ready and eager to retire, it will cause a major crisis beyond the financially unsustainable promises we already have to the people.
Of course, this will then create the welcomed "crisis" that the administration is implementing so they can have their next steps toward marxism implemented in this country. I say to the 20% left loons in this country: If you love Marxism so much – leave this country. Because WE THE PEOPLE (80% is the MAJORITY, last time I checked) are quite happy with free market, the Constitution and all our freedoms.
I just recieved my Medicare notice for 2010, Part B is going up +10 dollars, along with decrease in benifi amts., and my supplement will go up $12.00, this means I start out 2010 with over $22.00 less, a month in my check. Thanks to Obama we will not get an increase we get a decrease, now how does this help the economy?/ I am not in favor of Obama care, I like being in charge and even my professional magazines(Nurse)show that patient care will deteriate with this plan, Cap and trade will ruin small business, if it doesn't Obama care will, this global warming stuff will then finish this off. As the direct decendent from the Mayflower and a Reagan conservative I believe this administration and Congress have committed treason, we need to protect this country so m any have died for.
Dear Celladella,
If one single wmd hits one of our cities MAYBE you will understand WHY we are fighting for our very survival against a terrorist foe who does not mind dying.
The 1 trillion figure you submit will pale in comparison with the human lives lost and economic damage incurred.
People just don't get it.
Can always tell who the indoctrinated ones are. Can't write without a common misnomer.

How profoundly sad what is being done to our country…
To all who comment here — We are all pretty much in agreement about what Obama and his administration have done, are doing and will continue to do unless stopped.
We are preaching to our own choir. We are all pretty much in agreement on what we don't want:
Socialism; national health care; high unemployment; unbridled government spending; constantly increasing taxes on business and individuals; Cap & Trade; bail outs of companies or individuals; government takeovers of private sector busineses; a judiciary that rewrites the Constitution based on their personal agendas; and the ever increasing interference by the government into our everyday lives.
What we do want is the opposite of all those things listed above.
It is now time to start notifying the editors of every newspaper, news magazine and the news departments of every TV network and yes, even our Congressmen and Senators, telling them all what we want and don't want. Most important, it is time to get ready to vote. We are only a few weeks away from 2010 and the upcoming Congressional elections. This will be our time and we can't afford to waste it.
What is really disgusting is that the Republicans are just going along with this Healthcare scam.
Senator Jon Kyl made a statement that the Republicans are trying to AMEND the bill. We need the Republicans to get off their butts and do something about STOPPING this bill which is nothing more than an OUTRAGE to the American way of life.
Think about it. The RNC and the Republicans are sitting on their hands not doing anything that
I can see. Why isn't BOHNER in the news EVERYDAY. Why are they not organizing protests. Sending out mailers, etc.
The Republicans act as if they want this also. Remember they pulled the 'AMNESTY' trick a few years ago.
They don't want to get their hands
dirty though. Why is Bohner quick to point out that when this new entitlement passes, it will be forever? Why can't he do anything to STOP the bill?
I think if the American government can pass an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (18th Amendment – 1919) called Prohibition and then pass ANOTHER Amendment (21st Amendment – 1933) and have it ratified by the States, then something can be done about this BOGUS HEALTHCARE BILL.
The 21st Amendment has three Sections.
Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.
Section 3. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by conventions in the several States, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the States by the Congress.
That 1933 Congress went to work and repealed the 18th Amendment with THREE SENTENCES.
I think we should make it clear to each Republican politician that they're either For US OR Against US…….."Trow da BUMS OUT, they're STINKIN UP THE PLACE"…
