  • We Still Hold These Truths: The Progressive Assault on America

This is the second of a four part series.

Matthew Spalding’s new book, We Still Hold These Truths, examines the timeless principles and practical wisdom that have been the source of America’s monumental success. In this video segment Spalding discusses the progressive assault on the Founders’ principles that began more than a century ago and that continues—indeed, is accelerating—in our time.

Modern political leaders and cultural elites have all too readily abandoned the principles to which America is dedicated; even more troubling is how readily we all let it happen. Progressivism is a system of ideas whose success depends upon circumventing the Constitution; it has no place in America. Watch:

    1. RJM, Chicago says:

Right and Left have such different visions of the world, how it does work, and how it should work, that we should no longer be surprised by the seemingly incoherent (and sometimes even dangerous) things Obama, Pelosi and the American Left do.

I penned this article that expounds on that subject: http://rjmoeller.com/2009/11/fort-hood-nyc-terror

    2. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

Progressives are wannabe Communist. If it smells like a skunk …. Need I say more?

    3. Reagan Reep, Jackson says:

Reminds me of the saying about doing the same thing over and over expecting different results…this is the definitiion of Crazy!

    4. Zeke, MN says:

A Utube video of Yuri Bezmenov can be found on the web. Bezmenov was an ex-KGB agent and in this video he explains why the Lib's are so non-logical in their approaches to our Republic's problems. It will make your hair stand up!

    5. c.adli Las Vegas,NV. says:

      Excellant presentation.My view;we are heading,at best,to Socialism,at worst to facism.God help us.I hope I am wrong.

    6. Louis L Cesar F Levy says:

You get it only half. This left is especially vulnerable to influences from Enemies who launched their attack plans more than thousand years ago. The left, the actual Congress and government are 100% under the SPELLS of our Enemies. As D MICKAHARIC states(SPIRITUAL CLEANSING 2003 P28)Should you, for some unlikely reason, be singled out for attack by a trained and powerful magician, you will probably never know it.In the rare event that this should occur, you would probably march steadfastly toward the goals set for you, with little hope or chance for changing your course……..the only clue that something might be wrong with a person under this kind of attack, is that the individual experiences absolutely no difficulties or troubles in life….

How to make them aware that they are under these spells might be difficult, but the result of their actions, all failure, CAN BE SUFFICIENT for them or the public to push them OUT.

    7. Dennis A. Social Cir says:

We the people are to blame for lots of the BS, we have sat on our haunches and believe what the congress and the left have said, and then said it can not happen. Well folks it is happening and happening now. We must let our voice be heard and make it loud and clear, we will no longer be lead to the slaughter by the dems or the republicans. VOTE IN 2010.

    8. JL, ND says:

Andy from the Office rules! This guy knows his stuff. If everyone had their American civics education taught out of Matt Spalding's books, instead of the liberal nonesense forced down our throat, we'd be a whole lot better, off that's for sure!

    9. Grace Stanley, Chesa says:

The reason we are having such an assault on our system of government is that the lunatic fringe is now leading the Senate, the House, and the Executive Branches of our government.

    10. Jerry from Chicago says:

Grace Stanley, VA — You couldn't be more correct. There is an interview showing on U Tube

(Nov. 23rd) of an interview with Harry Reid, in which Reid maintains that taxation in America is voluntary. I'm as serious as a heart attack, check it out. At first I though it was a gag. Then I thought perhaps Reid was drunk. But no, he was sober and serious. The interviewer couldn't believe that Reid was being serious.

    11. Rob John, MIllbrook, says:

There can be no progress without Liberty; Liberty is progress. – Rob John
