Serving your country as an elected representative should be limited and not allowed to become a "career". Re-election should not be a consideration when representing the will of the people that elected them. It would be hard to pressure someone who has no career interest in doing the job. Coupled with a paring down of the current "executive priveleges" of these folks like retirement, compensation, and medical care (which should be no better than the rest of Government service's Blue Cross and only while serving)we can hopefully bring back some acountability to the electorate. We have allowed the creation of a privledged class in a country founded on equality. It is time to correct that mistake. This is another good reason for term limits. We need representatives that will do what is best for the country. By now, it is "transparent" that Pelosi's health bill will ultimately break the bank. It will not increase the quality of Americans' health care. It will lead to rationing. It will lead to a single-payer system. It will not cover everybody now - eventually it will as amendments are slipped in. Then the whole rotten egg will burst and the actual price will be staggering. So, if ANY CONGRESSMEN OR WOMEN ARE HIDING AND CHECKING OUT THE HF - do what is right for America - VOTE NO. If you get threatened, go to the press and name names and statements. Better to lose a career as a self-serving political hack and walk away with respect and honor. You many be surprised by getting reelected... We do need COWARDS as representatives of the people.
