Thank you, Freedom of Speech. Good observation Tom! And Charles, the president told the American people before he was elected, he wasn't running because he wasn't qualified. That makes him, a dishonorable man with no excuse. He knew what was on his plate! He was a community organizer and in the Senate! Setting things up for the unsuspecting, those that trusted him.

What he (and many others) could have fixed in a week's time with little effort, he's (and many others) complicating and corrupting, along with various government-made issues that is destroying the freedoms, equal rights, values and principles of this once great country, open to anyone in the world, to assimilate under the freedoms and equal rights of this nation. Look what it's turned into. We could've done it as fellow human beings, but with government influence, we're dividing more then uniting. America won't work if people don't assimilate and under civil law.

The president is really in over his head. He stepped into office during a series of unfortunate events and although I personally can see that he tries and he is a good person inside, its easier said than done breaking away from "politics as usual." Many people are judging the next four years according to what has happened during his first year but I think it is way too early to tell: http://tinyurl.com/ygr8vv2

Is it me, or was Ralph from NY's post weird? I am typing on a computer in America, and therefore my " and ' signs look totally normal. Ralph's however look a little funny. Notice the apostrophe in the 7th line down in the word Obama's. Hmmm, looks like this message was typed on a non-English language keyboard that doesn't use apostrophes in their orthography. Ralph is clearly not from NY (nor America) and his support for Obama merely reinforces the author's claim that a vast majority of Obama's support comes from abroad.

Ralph NY,

This man promised transparency.

That is the single biggest lie and the most important. It took 3 Republicans to pass the stimulus bill in the dead of night with no review, let alone understanding of what was just signed. It had to be done quick, remember? Pelosi flys to Italy and Obama signs the bill days later in Denver. Most importantly, the majority of the money has not been spent (a good thing) unless the intent of the "quick passage" was to "stimulate" the economy. You watch! They don't give a hoot. The majority of the "stimulis" will be next year, before the election, for political purposes. Where are the shovel ready jobs?

If you want to give him a life-time pass, go ahead. It is what he HAS DONE since Jan. 20 that ought to scare everybody.

I'm sure other bloggers can add additional examples of POTUS' accomplishments or lack thereof.

Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009, and yet in less than a year since assuming office, his critics crow failure with delight. These criticisms have in fact been simmering since the Nov. 2008 presidential election, when the now-opposition electorate could not bring itself to understand how a politician of a differing ideology could elicit such excitement in so many. After years of gutter-level approval ratings of the George W. Administration, the opposition seethed at the idea that perhaps America was in desperate need of a fundamental directional pivot, and that a great majority saw the opportunity to change direction embodied in a man. Unrealistically high though some hopes may have been, Obama´s critics are content to revert to “I told you so!” childishness, instead of acknowledging that changing course entails averting economic Armageddon, managing two post-9/11 counter-terrorism-turned-nation building efforts, and reparation of a severely tarnished (if not squandered) American moral leadership and popular standing around the globe. A tall order in the eight month term limit that critics have imposed on him.

What do you mean by "an apologetic attitude"? I want one absolute concrete example of such an "attitude". If you read and listen to Obama's speeches you will not find a single iota of "apology".

Also, what is wrong with "global popularity"? Is that such a horrible thing? One would think that like many fans of Mr. Putin you think it is better that America be feared rather than admired and liked.

All "smoke and mirrors" before last year's election.
All "smoke and mirrors" since. Did anyone expect otherwise?
The result is the "...failure to engage the world substantively".
A result for which we'll all be paying a bundle.
They "paying" part: that will be real. Rest assured that it will!
