  • Putin Puts U.S. on Notice that Iran Sanctions Would be "Premature"

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin further undermined U.S. efforts to present a united front against Iran’s nuclear program by ruling out talking about sanctions, which he said would be “premature.” Putin told reporters in Beijing, where he was attending a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, that “There is no need to frighten the Iranians.” Putin’s comments came a day after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called sanctions “counterproductive” after meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who had traveled to Moscow in search of solidarity over how to respond to Iran’s nuclear challenge.

Clinton left Moscow empty-handed on her first trip there as Secretary of State, amid growing criticism that the Obama Administration’s effort to “hit the reset button” with Russia had failed to bring any tangible benefits on the Iran issue. Lavrov did express satisfaction that he and Clinton had made “considerable progress” towards reaching agreement on a new strategic arms treaty that would constitute the most intrusive weapons inspections that the United States has ever agreed to. The repressive regime in Tehran is likely to take great comfort in these developments: Iran’s ally Russia not only is pulling the rug out from under any effective sanctions campaign, but it is forcing the Obama Administration to retreat on yet another front.

      Damn this makes me mad.

The Russians are making "considerable progress" in getting us to let them see our weapons systems and perhaps count them!!!!!

At the same time, they are telling us to ____ in regards to Iran? I knew they would play us. I'm not mad or embarrassed for Clinton but for the USA.

Russia's letting us go this alone and will then condemn us. Pure nasty politics.

What did this "new crew" think that the America apologizing tour and the "we just want to be friend mentality" would bring out of the Russians?

God help us and that is the truth.

    2. Alex, Coral Springs, says:

Obama is like, OK mommy OK, with his tail between his legs. This tyrant (Obama) is weak and frail. I just don't understand how many zombies we have in this country that voted for this man. It's beyond my comprehension.

    3. Leon, Durango, CO says:

Putin is no democrat. The fact Obama got absolutely nothing from the Russians proves again my theme that our Democratic Party 'representatives' ONLY serve foreign interests and are therefor treasonous. So then, Obama gave them our $200+ billion dollar backing for the IMF and got nothing in return. Weak, Hell! Obama is in their pockets. I'll bet you will find numerous Obama-friends on the KGB payroll (along with the McCarthy 'victims' the Rosenburgs).

Iran will get the Bomb, our Patriot Missles will shoot it down (thank you Ronald Reagan) and if God has a sense of humor they will drop it on Russia.

    4. Ozzy6900, CT says:

President Obama is a gelding along with the rest of the "Hill". After all we lived through during the Cold War, we are now going to bow to the Russian Bear! It makes me want to vomit!

    5. Normca says:

And Hillary's poll numbers went up? [which mean everything to these guys] I guess to be a democrat, you have to fail continually and you are heralded. And Team Obama and Clinton are a collasal failure. His policies are failing at every turn. But like any weak liberal; its the intentions that matter. What's next ? beer in the rose garden. But the rest of the world likes America again. That guy Bush is gone and along with him, the hard line. The rest of the world can see that Obama is weakening America and they like it. And Russia is with Iran no matter what Obama gives up. Even with Hillary's trinkets. Two weeks to a month to decide to win the battle with more troops in Afghanistan and we wonder why Obama is seen as a weak push over.

Putin, Chinese, our leaders are all puppets. Start by recognizing the Single Enemy who manipulate them and you will have solved half of the problem. Remember how strong then we will be for most are just ROBBED of their Spirit of Confidence and Clarity which help see clear and therefore be ABLE to fight back with the necessary strenght-as some already do. Thanks to Heritage Foundation and to all true lovers and actors for this Country, the West and finally the welfare of all.

The future shaping of this world should in no way be left to agenda like "the new world order" in fact suggested or encouraged by the Enemy because, among other reasons it stands for giving-up our sovereignety-one of the greatest dream of the Enemy-which will sanction a great victory in the Global Battle of this Millennium.

    8. Jerry from Chicago says:

The Russians, in so many words, have told Mr. Obama's Secretary of State, Ms. Clinton, to "Go home and bake cookies and leave world affairs to the grown-ups."

Mr. Obama's response? "Chocolat chip are my favorites."

This doesn't seem very nice behavior from our new friends, the Russians, especially since we invited them to come over and personally count all of our nuclear warheads. I wonder what kind of punch they would like with their cookies. What do you think, Hillary?

    9. Ewiak Ryszard, Polan says:

Iran should not arouse concern. Georgia is the most dangerous flashpoint in Russia's tense relations with the West. The Bible says: "At the appointed time [the king of the north = Russia] will return back [will regain the influence, which it lost after the break-up of the Soviet Union] and come into the south [many indicate that this might be Georgia], but it will not be as the former [1921] or as the latter [2008]. For the dwellers of coastlands of Kittim [the West] will come against him, and he will be humbled, and will return." (Daniel 11:29,30a) Then Iran will be humbled also. "But ships will come from the direction of Kittim, troubling Asshur [Russia] and troubling Eber [inhabiting on the other side the Euphrates]." (Numbers 24:24a, BBE)

At that time, peace will be taken from the earth and the "great sword" – nuclear sword – will be used. (Revelation 6:4) However, it will be neither the great tribulation nor "the end of the world" (Armageddon). As Jesus foretold, that will be "the beginning of birth pains". (Mathew 24:7,8)

If the Heavens planned a full return of Russia (and much suggests this) the present economic crisis will deepen. Then also the European Union and NATO will not stands.

In the same way the earlier prophecy had fulfilled: "And (he) [the king of the north = Russia] will go back (to) his land with great wealth [1945]; and his heart (will be) against the holy covenant [state atheism]; and will act effectively; and turned back to his own land [the break-up of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact, the return of Russian troops to country]." (Daniel 11:28)

    10. John, Colorado says:

Perhaps Chechnya would like to have some nuclear weapons, er, I mean, some plants for processing bomb grade, er, I mean, nuclear feul, for peaceful nuclear feul processes.

It’s not right that only two Islamic countries have nuclear weapons. That’s not fair. Chechnya has a right to self-defense, and that means nuclear weapons, too. Er, I mean a right to have atomic power.

    11. John, Colorado says:

Umm, perhaps Chechnya would like to have some nuclear weapons, er, I mean, some plants for processing bomb grade, er, I mean, nuclear feul, for peaceful nuclear feul processes.

It’s not right that only two Islamic countries have nuclear weapons. That’s not fair. Chechnya has a right to self-defense, and that means nuclear weapons, too. Er, I mean a right to have atomic power.

    14. THE CAPTAIN, Nesw Or says:

Ronald Reagan showed that the only way to deal with the Russians is to say: "WSe want to be friends and, Oh, by the way, let me tell you about my new toy that can blow the hell out of you. And, Oh, yes, we are going to put missles 50 miles from yourborder." But not Obama. He is so naive. He says: "Let's be friends and , Oh by the way, I sent all my toys to the junk yard." He will never get anything meaningful from the Russians. They know he is weak. They know he is naive. Russia's actions here is how an ally should treat their friends. Stand up for them, even when they are wrong. Instead, we treat our friends like enemies. We pulled the rug out from Poland and the Czech Republic on the missle placements. We are pulling the rug out on the Israelis with Iran and with their Arabe neighbors. We are pulling the rug out on Pakistan by giving them aid with thick strings attached when they are truly in a dire situation. We pulled the rug out from under Honduras when they followed their Constitution, but we want to make "nice, nice" with Chavez and Castro and Ortega. We must deal from strength, not weakness. We are letting Russia verify what we say about our weapons, but we are not verifying theirs. They are helping the Iranaians and we said nothing. Only the Israelis had the guts to tell Russia that they know what is going on. We are in big trouble and it is not even one year into Obama's reign.

    15. paul collins.the vil says:

Since Russia feels that there should not be any sanctions on Iran, why don't we build the missles in Poland to protect ourselves and forget about the inspections that were announced.
