  • Kerry-Boxer: 10% Unemployment Is Just The Beginning

Defending his new energy tax bill Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) told Congress Daily yesterday:

Let me emphasize something very strongly as we begin this discussion. The United States has already this year alone achieved a 6 percent reduction in emissions simply because of the downturn in the economy, so we are effectively saying we need to go another 14 percent.

The United States has also “achieved” 3.36 million net jobs lost so far this year and a 9.7% unemployment rate. Is this “green jobs” economy that the enviro-left is trying to sell America? Is Kerry admitting that instituting cap and trade will inflict the same amount of damage on the U.S. economy as the housing bubble and financial sector breakdown have?

    Kerry-Boxer: 20% less carbon and 10% unemployment through 2020!

This is not surprising. These people are part of an elite group who do not live in the real world.

How is that vaunted Massachuests state-run health care program working, eh?

How about California? Boy, their state system should be emulated by the entire country, eh?

I feel the sorry for the citizens of both but they caused their own mess. Keep voting the left elites in office and that's what you get.

I know it's wishful thinking but can't these people, who have wealth, find something else to do?

    2. Spiritof76 says:

6% reduction required 3.3Million job loss. At that rate, 20% reduction will mean 11 million job loss! That is OK with Kerry because he is all set; millions of his wife plus the taxpayer funded luxuries.

    3. Linda Maddox, Carlsb says:

Is this the same Barbara Boxer that has refused to help our farmers? 40% unemployment in our Central Valley.

Is this the same Barbara Boxer who voted for the Health Reform?

Is this the same Barbara Boxer who we are going to vote OUT of office in November. She has fought against, we the people in California, it is time she is put out to pasture!

    4. Steve S. California says:

It continually amazes me that persons who have proven beyond a doubt, publicly, how disinterested they are in our welfare, our desires etc., and how fundamentally dishonest they are, continue to believe that they need to set us straight. Just like slick willie telling us that those who don't follow them blindly are flirting with disaster because of violence or potential violence in the Tea Party movement. The same kind of jerks accused Martin Luther King of the same thing! They manufactured problems so that they could appear to have moral high ground, a tactic as old as the hills themselves. In the vernacular, they are all as full of it as a Christmas (did I say that?) Turkey. Throw the bums out!
