Quote of the Day: Energy Secretary Steven Chu
Posted By Rory Cooper On September 22, 2009 @ 2:15 pm In Energy and Environment | 8 Comments
According to the Wall Street Journal, while speaking on “the sidelines of a smart grid conference in Washington,” Energy Secretary Steven Chu had this gem when speaking about you, the American people, and your embrace of his green jobs and global warming agenda:
The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act. The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.
Once again, the Obama Administration has decided to name call, condescend and demean the opposition rather than defend their policies which most Americans rightly understand would kill the economy, kill jobs and do nothing to help the environment. Obviously, the American people just aren’t mature enough to see how adding one job at the expense of three results in a net positive. They just ”aren’t acting in a way that they should.” Pesky teenagers.
Now we also learn that the Department of Energy and the EPA plan on focusing their education campaign on real teenagers, by visiting over 6,000 public schools across the nation to teach children about climate change and energy efficiency. Remember, Secretary Chu is the man who wants you to paint your roof white , and prefers high gas prices so you stop driving so much. Might want to call your school and see what curriculum Dr. Chu has in store for your family.
