Even the present Administration could not be that "insensitive". What it does show is a lack historical knowledge. The animosity between the Poles and the Russians go back many centuries. What is hard to believe is that not one White House Staff member picked up on the significance of this date to the Polish people. In this case, POTUS's "advisors" let him down. More importantly, land-based missile defense is a visible permanent symbol of a line in the sand not to be crossed. Now, that we have appeased to Russians are we going to finally allow the Russians into our hemisphere in Venezuela or elsewhere? We had better be just as adamant and forthright with our opposition to this possible development. Further, someone better tell that petty tyrant in Venezuela that we will not allow the basing of ANY CHICOM or Russian missile systems. No could, should, maybe, language but WILL NOT ALLOW. It was on this day, (September 17th) 70 years ago, that the Soviet union joined Nazi Germany in attacking Poland, thus leading to the systematic slaughter and enslavement of Poles for over 50 years.
