The Heritage Foundation
Leadership for America

Our Vision

Building an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and civil society flourish.

About The Heritage Foundation

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institution—a think tank—whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. We believe the principles and ideas of the American Founding are worth conserving and renewing. As policy entrepreneurs, we believe the most effective solutions are consistent with those ideas and principles.

Professor Perry explains:

The graph shows that as the size of government (share of GDP) increases for OECD countries, economic growth (real GDP) suffers. Economic growth is more than 4 times greater (6.6% vs. 1.6%) in the countries with the lowest government spending (<>60%).

My husband and I have a small business. This administration is killing our business. Big government regulations that have already been implemented have stopped credit to the private sector. This administration has already grown goverment jobs, it is already hurting us. I keep wondering how much they are going to tax us to pay for all the jobs. I heard in Congress one day that once a government job is created, it doesn’t go away. We cannot afford more and more government jobs. Government doesn’t make any money, they just take from us.

In all fifty States now, according to the latest Gallop Poll, Moderates have the majority. Only in Washington D.C. do the Liberals hold the majority. Fitting is it not?
