I'm beginning to think that the United States hasn't been a nation based on the Constitution since 1860 and we're just beginning to realize when something's not obviously Constitutional after fatal damage has already been done in the past 150 years.

What is happening to my country? I am a combat veteran of World War II, I fought for the country I respect and love. This year we have seen a Stimulus package that will indebt my grandchildren with a hugh burden, we have seen the government take control of the financial arm of the country, we have seen effort in cap and trade which will cause a hugh tax burden for nothing, and now Obamacare, a socialist take over of a working system. I have been a member of Heritage Foundation for many years and I would like to congratulate them on their ability to present solid information for our consumption and hopefully for our elected respresentatives to understand. Thanks Heritage.

According to the Tax Foundation, 41 percent of the US population paid no federal income tax in 2006. Married taxpayers filed 40 percent of returns, and they paid 75 percent of all federal income taxes.

Bottom line: married taxpayers will pay for ObamaCare and nearly half of all Americans will get a free ride. Married taxpayers have real skin in the game. They are the ones whose opinions are valid. The opinions of people who don't pay for what they get are irrelevant.
