• Video: President Obama Contradicts Senator Obama

Today, President Obama once again repeated his assertion that he is not advocating for a single payer health care system (one in which the government is the sole provider of all U.S. health care services). In the past he has explained his new current position by explaining that the votes aren’t there, and it may take decades to transition towards his desired result. Whether or not he will currently admit, as he did here in 2003, that a single payer system is his goal, it is logical to assume from his own rhetoric that he is designing a system that puts America on that path. President Obama may say he wasn’t a “single payer supporter” but Senator Obama certainly was.

Just dubbed the hired activists "TurfSmirfs".

Now dubbing Obama "Flipper". (already so many Obamanyms in use…)

I am an American Senior Citizen, we will not go away, lie down and die quietly. It is a true

American that will speak out in favor of our personal freedoms. Our President is con man,

smiles and tells you what he thinks will make you feel good. He isn't dumb but his sound bites have little to do with the House Health Bill. I have read it. So the Senators and House of Representive will not take the time to read a Bill before voting on it. They rely on their political party outline and their staff to tell them what to think ane how to Vote on a Bill. Just see how many of you will get re-elected if you vote to pass this

      Health Care Bill.

    3. Carl T Avondale, AZ says:

The lies and spin continues. Rasmussen poll indicates Obamacare is slipping away with only 37% for it. We MUST continue the Townhall protests.

Let's also not forget that this health care bill would have been passed as it was written had people not engaged in reading the whole thing. His words cannot be trusted. I saw his face in anger, as he pressed for urgency.

Mr. president, you have mentioned how important this is to the "American people." What "American people," Mr. President? Where are the faces of the people that want this, Mr. President? Is it illegals and those that just don't want to pay for their own? From the few legal that have been coerced to back you, let's hear from their thoughts, not your scripts. And stop exploiting children.

    11. tom RI. says:

With a projected $1.8 trillion deficit for 2009, several trillions more in deficits projected over the next decade, and with both Medicare and Social Security entitlement spending about to ratchet up several notches over the next 15 years as Baby Boomers become eligible for both, we are rapidly running out of other people's money. These deficits are simply not sustainable. They are either going to result in unprecedented new taxes and inflation, or they will bankrupt us.

While we clearly need health-care reform, the last thing our country needs is a massive new health-care entitlement that will create hundreds of billions of dollars of new unfunded deficits and move us much closer to a government takeover of our health-care system. Instead, we should be trying to achieve reforms by moving in the opposite direction—toward less government control and more individual empowerment.YES LESS GOVERNMENT NOT MORE. And why do we have Czars it thought this is America

    12. Shawn, Ind. says:

i'll tell you it's dark outside when it's high noon. whatever it takes to look the part and sound like you know what your talking about. and that's all that's being done here. we have someone with no qualifications whatsoever running our country. he should be at a local ymca trying to campaign for a new swingset. keep up the good work. go ahead and write it into the proposed health plan that a person who lost a leg in ww2,Korea,Vietman and is older that they've had their fair share of time on earth and that it's better served for all that they go ahead an accept the fact they need to move on. they fought and served a country that is no longer interested in serving them. i'd call that senior citizen cannon fodder.

    13. Stan P, Livermore, C says:

I'm not a conspiricy theororist but doesn't the lack of health care treatment for seniors really clean up the SS mess. No seniors-No SS payments. Just a thought.

    14. Gary, Lansdale PA says:

Shh, hush now. Can't you see President Obama is a more mature, grown-up Senator Obama. Can't you see that his viewpoint has just "evolved" to a higher level?

      Of course you can!

Question: How can you tell that Obama is lying? Easy, his lips are moving.

Here in Pennsylvania, turncoat Specter gets faced with rightfully concerned and righteously angry Pennsylvanians and he has the audacity to claim that their anger "isn't representative" of Americans' sentiments. Casey, likewise, insists that he will do "the right thing" for Americans, despite what those Americans tell him is what they do not want. Are these people out-of-touch or what?

Look "arrogant" up in Webster's Dictionary and you will find the pictures of Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, SPecter, Casey, Kennedy, etc., etc., etc.

Keep the pressure on these people, they're funniest when they backpedal and stumble over their own words.

    15. John Roane Sarasota says:

Why is anyone surprised by President Obama’s actions? He told us all what he would do when elected. Then you all went right out and elected him. So why is anyone expressing unhappiness now?

If you voted for someone who you didn't checkup on before voting, isn't that like voting for a bill in Congress without reading it first? No one would ever do that, would they? Who will you vote for next time? Is there any public office which you will not checkout the candidate first?

Please, you can’t blame President Obama; he is only doing what he said he would. But take aim and don’t re-elect anyone to the US Congress.

    16. Sandy, TX says:

The concept that bothers me the most about our current Congress is the gross absence of representation. In a time when many are standing up in protest, their voices are falling on deaf ears with blind eyes. Many of the "representatives" admittedly haven't read the legislation on health care because they got away with not reading the stimulus package. When the people are more informed than the "representatives" it's time to FIRE them.

    17. David Lyall, Chicago says:

I was born near Bombay ,India and the turnout is close to 70% during elections. I regret to say that in USA less than 40% vote. The blame lies at the door of the people who do not care about the richest democracy of the world. It is about time to take a lesson from the worlds biggest democracy India. It is the people who write the destiny of USA and not Washington. Look at Chicago it is run by Daley machine for 40 plus years. This would not be tolerated in Delhi or Bombay. Mr Obama and Democrats will put the Chicago machine in Washington if people do not exercise their vote.

    18. Lynn B. DeSpain says:

Obama is neither for or against anything! Obama is only for Obama. All else matters nothing to him. The total destruction of America and its people matters nothing to him. If his wife and children were to contradict his image at any given moment in his time, they too would matter nothing. Much the same madness as King George.

    19. Steph, "the peo says:

We've got a usurper in the white house trying to dismantle the United States from the inside because no one could get us from the outside. My family is from Canada and the UK, one of my uncle's had to wait a YEAR on a list for a quadruple bypass. Here in the states that would have happened same day or next day! The grass is NOT greener. Wake up America!!! Stand up for what is right and tell the Senate and the "president" that they can't take away out freedoms.

The Acorn plan is being used. The plan is to bring real social change by breaking the back of goverment by demanding too much hense destablizing and reastablising another goverment. That is what Obama is doing.

    24. Jerry from Chicago says:

Oh, I get it now. Mr. Obama's 2003 comments favoring a single payer health care plan, doesn't really conflict with his current statement favoring a government health plan that will compete with private health care plans. He's not 'lying' today, merely altering his earlier position, because he doesn't think he has enough votes to push it through. Tomorrow however, may lead to a re-assesment of his current position, back to his intial position, prefaced with the remarks "let me be clear", if he thinks there are enough votes to make it happen. We must remember, that Mr. Obama is entitled to re-assess, adjust and recalibrate his statements (read promises and commitments) based on the latest public opinion polls and focus group reports. When Mr. Obama says "what I am going to do", or "what I believe is", or "what should be done is" we need to understand that those statements don't necessarily mean that is what he will do. So you see, it is really our fault that we don't understand him

And they wonder why people are shouting at politicians at townhall meetings.

    26. Ody Milton, Agoura C says:

Wow, these are the most intelligent comments about Obama's agenda. Since day one of his presidency I have been saying this man is the biggest fraud perpitrated on the American people. As soon as he turned over the stimulas plan to Pelosi and the pork began to simmer, the hand wring was on the wall. Hope is for dopes. Obama oppted out so he could protect his butt. Line by line my a___".

Another point that nobody is addressing is Dental Care. Most employer based healthcare insurance companies offer both health and dental coverage as a package. Is Obama going to be our new dentist? In ten to fifteen years American's will be on pain pills and toothless.

      Vote the bast___'s out

    27. Ed, East Meadow NY says:

We have the best healthcare in the world. Obamacare is unconstitutional. It gives to much power to National Governement. If Obama and his radical friends are in favor of a Single Payer system then they should head north into Canada. It is scarry how Obama is making out Doctors to Idiots. All I know is that my Doctors are not telling me to go have Mcdonalds so they can someday amputate my leg. He is an idealogue who just wants to push his agenda down our throats. If we don't like it then we are racists or idiots. I tell you Mr.President we Are the United States and We Don't want your Nationalized HEalth Care.

    28. James, San Antonio T says:

Obama isn't lying in either statement. He was, but currently "isn't" advocating single payer. Present tense. Doesn't mean he doesn't want to, or would advocate for it if he wasn't afraid to be honest. A slick and consistent message, but it's only half the truth. He can claim honesty in both statements.

    29. Jerry from Chicago says:

Mr. Obama changes his mind more often than a kid in a candy store. Unfortunately, for all of the rest of us, that is exactly what he has become.

The so called 'leader of the free world' is a kid in a candy store. He is going to wind up with a mouth full of rotten teeth, that eventually will all have to be pulled, leaving us with the dental bill.
