  • Morning Bell: The People Spreading "Disinformation" About Obamacare

The White House is losing the health care debate. Polls from National Public Radio, Wall Street Journal/NBC News, The Washington Post, Gallup, and Pew all show that the American people do not support President Barack Obama’s health care plan. The White House wants people to believe they are losing the health care debate because “scary … videos are starting to percolate on the internet” that are spreading “disinformation” about Obama’s health care plan. The White House is even encouraging Obama supporters to help them identify people spreading this “disinformation.” The official White House blog now asks Americans: “If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

In the interest of honest debate, we would like to flag the White House about some prominent people that are directly contradicting the President about what his health care plan would do to the American people. As White House Health Reform Office communications director Linda Douglass points out in a video released by the White House yesterday, President Obama has repeatedly assured Americans that under his plan “if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them.”

The problem the White House faces, however, is that much of President Obama’s base does not want the American people to keep their current insurance plan or doctor. Activists on the left prefer a single-payer system where private health insurance companies have been eliminated. So how can the White House both appease its leftist base, which wants single-payer/government-run health care, and mollify the vast majority of Americans, who want to keep their current health insurance providers? By creating a government-run “public option” designed to slowly eliminate private insurance over time.

The President has explicitly said that the public option will not eliminate private insurance. He told the American Medical Association on June 15th: “What are not legitimate concerns are those being put forward claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan horse for a single-payer system…So, when you hear the naysayers claim that I’m trying to bring about government-run health care, know this – they are not telling the truth.” So the President SAYS the public option will not lead to single payer health care … but a number of prominent people are saying the exact opposite:

    • Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) at a Health Care for America Now rally: “And next to me was a guy from the insurance company who argued against the public health insurance option, saying it wouldn’t let private insurance compete. That a public option will put the private insurance industry out of business and lead to single-payer. My single-payer friends, he was right. The man was right.”
    • Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) told Single Payer Action: “I think that if we get a good public option it could lead to single-payer and that is the best way to reach single-payer. Saying you’ll do nothing till you get single-payer is a sure way never to get it. … I think the best way we’re going to get single-payer, the only way, is to have a public option and demonstrate the strength of its power.”
    • Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein at the Democratic National Convention last year: “They have a sneaky strategy, the point of which is to put in place something that over time the natural incentives within its own market will move it to single-payer.”
    • Noble Prize winning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman: “[T]he only reason not to do [single-payer] is that politically it’s hard to do in one step…You’d have to convince people completely give up the insurance they have, whereas something that lets people keep the insurance they have but then offers the option of a public plan, that may evolve into single-payer.”

Americans deserve an honest debate about health care. President Obama, Barney Frank, and Jan Schakowsky cannot all be right. Either the President is wrong when he says his plan will not lead to government-run health care, or Frank and Schakowsky are spreading disinformation when they tell their single payer advocate base that it will. So let’s help the White House out. Do email flag@whitehouse.gov and let the White House know you’ve seen something “fishy” on the web about health care reform.

    • Just 9% of eligible homeowners who are delinquent have gotten a trial mortgage modification under the Obama administration $75 billion housing recovery plan.
    • According to USA Today, the Obama administration’s efforts to pay for Obamacare by cutting the Medicare Advantage program that benefits 10.2 million seniors helps explain why Americans over 65 are the demographic least supportive of Obama’s health reforms.
    • According to U.S. military officials, two Russian attack submarines were detected patrolling the waters off the East Coast of the U.S.

    1. John, Ohio says:

      Mr. President:

Can we get a debate on the health care bill that will last as long as it took you to pick out a dog…or a church(oh, wait)?

      Thanks,

      John

    2. Maggie, TexaS says:

I would like to know how many in Congress have Medicare as their primary insurance. It is common for businesses to move those eligible for Medicare off private insurance.

    3. Jim, Orlando Fl says:

It is very disturbing to me the White House would ask people to send them information on who is opposing health care.

Yesterday I wrote them an e-mail and asked them what would they do with this information. I can not, for the life of me, think of any benign reasons they would do such a thing.

Also, living in Orlando I have yet to find a townhall meeting going on around here. Any ideas on where and when would be helpful. Would love to go and voice my concern.

    4. Flagged says:

This "flag" address is chilling. "If anyone opposes us, report it to the government"? How is this not a huge national story? Can you imagine if Bush had run something like this? It probably wouldn't have crossed his mind to use an official address for such nefarious purposes. I never once thought I'd miss the guy – OBAMA IS SCARY!

    5. Ozzy6900, CT says:

The People are speaking out but Washington is not listening! Senate & Congressional leaders claim that "our thoughts are being poisoned by insurance companies….". Nothing could be further from the truth! The People are realizing that under ObamaCare, the Government is going to take the earnings of ALL working people and those of wealth and "redistribute" to the loafers and losers.

Page 16 tells all in that sooner or later, you are going to come under ObamaCare – like it or not. Add to this, those gettign on in years and present Senior Citizens do not want "End of Life Consultations", they want Health Insurance!

The insurance companies are right in that they will lose because they HAVE to make a profit and the Government does not (it never does) so the Government will in fact squeeze private insurance companies out of the Health Care business.

President Obama (and the rest of Washington) are too worried about the minority of those that do not have Health Insurance and is not listening to the MAJORITY who do. The American People do not like things "rammed down their throats" and that is exactly what President Obama is trying to do with everything.

    6. Bucko says:

Simple, if our senator and congress represenatives in NH vote for the government managed healthcare they will be run out of office!

    7. Jerry S. Dickinson, says:

I was pleased with the interest the Whitehouse has showed disinformation. I therefore suggest that every tax paying American out there send an e-mail to the White House provided email site to voice our dicgust with disinformation. It is as listed on above correspondence flag@whitehouse.gov . It is a good address I just sent one to see if it would go thru and it did. So here is our oppurtunity to tell the Elite in Washington exactly what we think about disinformtion. Tell your friends

    8. Becky, Michigan says:

If I don't want government run health care and have decided that for myself based on what I have now and can control, am I to turn myself in?

The source of my opinion is not outside of myself, but within myself after discerning as much of what I can gather about how it works in other countries, in MA, and our own government run medical systems.

The town halls and tea parties are as close to "turning yourself in" as it gets. As long as I can remember my dad used to write his congressman. Whether you write, show up at an office, call or email, what the WH is missing is the mood of the public. They want Obama to know about them and their postion.

I am not involved in the tea party protests, have not attended a town hall meeting, but have written my congressmen on different issues. I want them to listen, not interpret what they want to hear.

    9. Richard Cancemi, Arl says:

Gov't involvement in running HEALTH CARE is a bad thing as are all the other programs they propose. Gov't should and must keep its nose out of the free market and our lives. They are violating our Constitution every day!

As for Gov't controlling health care, it is a bad idea and no amount of amendments or "compromises" will ever make it a good idea!

The people in our Gov't have proven time and again that they cannot be trusted. We NEED Term Limits so that "maybe" their Private Country Club with all its "stolen" perks for themselves can be dissolved. We might then have a Gov't "of the people, by the people, and for the people" not for professional politicians who have proven themselves to be liars, hypocrites and downright hooligans!

    10. Becky, Michigan says:

The press's help in interpreting this grassroots movement provides comfort and cover to lawmakers to do what they want to.

It is not a check or balance. And they wonder why they are fighting to be heard themselves.

    11. Brad L, Phoenix says:

I just sent an email to flag@whitehouse.gov stating the following:

Please note that Jan Schakowsky D-IL and Barney Frank D-MA are stating that the new health care system will definitely evolve into a single-payer system which is in direct conflict with President Obama's statements.

Take whatever action you deem necessary to stop these lies and misinformation

      Thank you

    12. Harry, Illinois says:

The one thing about lying, is that after awhile you can't recoginize it from the truth. Our Politicians are so caught up in their rhetoric that they actually believe what they are saying.

Remember to vote in 2010. More than 2 terms out they go. Goood bye Nancy, Harry, Barney, Ted Christopher, Mr. Durbin and the rest of the Pinochio's in Congress.

    13. Joe, CT says:

      email sent! love it.

    14. Kathy,Utah says:

Thanks for the wonderful suggestion. I am glad to report Barney Frank and Jan Schakowsky's fishy disinformation to the Whitehouse website. I hope many others will do the same. Keep up the great work Heritage Foundation.

    15. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

Linda's spin is just that, politicized dogma. She's like a cosmetic sales person who really believes in cellular rejuvenating face creams. Or carrot juice cure all for cancer. My advice to Linda, listen to the industry pros and not your Chicago demagogue boss. Health care access is a state and local affair and doesn't belong at the federal level, period. Flag that!

    16. Eric, Connecticut says:

What happened to the transparency that Obama spoke to much about? They do not want debate because unlike all the arguments against this bill, the left wing can not back up their arguments for the public health care "Option" with actual facts or any evidence that that it could work.

I live in Connecticut and have been searching for a town hall meeting with any of my Reps like Jim Himes or Chris Dodd with no success. I will keep trying

    17. Peter, San Diego says:

Personnally, I think there is a problem with health care..just not what the WH spins. Government is the cause of spiraling costs. Giving doctors and hospitals a blank check to cover their services changed 'take two aspirin and call me in the morning' to 'I think you need an MRI/Catscan/Xray'. Insurance plans now had to raise rates to cover the increased cost of medical service. And the cycle starts over again. You want to reform health care? GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF IT.

    18. Peggy, Pennsylvania says:

I propose that those of us who oppose "Obamacare" contact the "flag" website and report the many examples of the misinformation that is being broadcast by the Democrats and their surrogates. And when we do, we should remind the White House that this new strategy smacks of 1938 Germany.

    19. Debbie& Jerry S. says:

We The People all know where the disinformation is coming from, so as American Citizens it is our duty to help Washington get to the bottom of it. They have extended the courtesy of an email site just for this purpose. flag@whitehouse.gov send them an email to inform them where you heard disinformation, Maybe if enough people tell them they will actually understand. Obama says one thing today something else tomorrow, none of that agrees with what my Representative is telling me. So lets let them know

    20. Fulton Desler, Gig H says:

Yesterday the President himself said that (paraphrasing) he "didn't expect the country to get to fully public funded health insurance right away. I may take 10 or 15 years." The point is that the President DOES expect to eliminate private health insurance. Who is it that is confused and confusing here?

    21. Peter, San Diego says:

Wait a second, if the plan you are proposing is so great, why don't you cover yourselves with it first. Then, when the American people see how well it is working, they will want it for themselves.

Like Social Security, Medicare, and a thousand and one other government run programs, our elected officials are not included.

We will never be a government for the people…as long as government isn't one of the people.

    22. Ken Jarvis - Las Veg says:

"The White House is losing the health care debate."

      NO WAY,

      the DEMOs have the VOTES

      REFORM IS BOUND TO PASS.

    23. Peter, San Diego says:

I'm getting kind of wordy here. But here's another thought…Sometimes in our arguments we get philisophical, educated, legal, or just plain high brow. We forget that there are debates where the issue is to win, not make the better argument. During these town hall meetings, the people should be asking one simple question….If this is such a good thing for me, why isn't it good enough for you.

    24. Melissa, Fargo says:

The evolution to a single payer system is written into the bill. Section 102 of the House Bill specifically says that private options will not be allowed to add new members. So, if I lose my insurance through something as common as a job change, I will be required to join the public plan. If an insurance company can not add new customers it will surely squeeze the life out of that side of their business. The only unknown is how quickly it will happen.

I recommend that everyone attend their August recess Town Hall meetings and be ready to cite the exact wording of the bill. There's simply no response that seems credible when you confront them with wording from the bill itself.

      Mel

    25. MJP, Maryville Tenne says:

Why does the White House ask people to send them information about Health Care e-mails.

People need to realize what's going on. Freedom of speach and freedom from sensorship are protected by the Constitution or has the current administration forgotten that.

Last I checked we are still a free country and do have minds of our own.

      M.

    26. Jill, California says:

I sent the following email to flag@whitehouse.gov

      To Whom It May Concern:

Why can't you understand that the anger seen at Town Hall meetings is indeed real? It's not manufactured. It's not planted by right-wing extremists. It's not the voice of a small minority. The anger is a true measure of what the bulk of Americans feel.

Not one person I know thinks this country is on the right track. We all believe this administration is making mistake after mistake, taking the country on the wrong path. The stimulus program has hurt the country. The bailouts have hurt this country. Cap & Trade and Obamacare will hurt this country. And Obama has taken an existing deficit and multiplied the problem so badly that we'll never dig our way out.

Yes, many of us want to see reforms in the healthcare industry. We want to see costs reduced. We want an end to the way the insurance industry denies coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. We want an end to the frivolous lawsuits … though not nearly as much as we want protection from negligent doctors, like the careless doctor who left me with permanent damage in my knee. And we're sympathetic enough that we want to provide coverage for every citizen.

However, we absolutely, positively, without a doubt do not want Obama's healthcare plan. We don't like the provisions in this bill. We don't like the sweeping changes being proposed. We don't like the idea that Congress is trying to address some very real problems by overhauling the entire system.

We absolutely, positively, without a doubt do not want Congress passing any legislation that hasn't been read and analyzed line-by-line by every single person voting on it. It doesn't matter how well-intentioned the bill is. If you haven't read every word and don't understand the impact of every word, we don't want it.

We absolutely, positively, without a doubt do not want a healthcare bill unless Obama, Biden, every member of Congress, and every federal employee first switches themselves and their families to the program they propose for Americans. If and when you can show that such a plan has a proven track record of providing satisfactory and cost-effective coverage for federal workers and their families, you will have the right to offer it to the general public. Until then, we don't want it. We don't want to be your guinea pigs. We don't want a plan that you haven't embraced for yourself and your families.

This anger is real. It's not fueled by right-wing extremists. It's fueled by Obama, Congress, and others in Washington who aren't listening to Americans and who are hell-bent to do whatever they please, regardless of how much it will harm America and regardless of the public opinion against it. You're taking this country down the wrong path, and each move you make is fueling our anger.

Please, please, please listen to Americans. Stop this destructive path. Stop Obamacare. Stop Cap & Trade. Stop the bailouts. Solve our problems without creating hundreds of others for every one you address.

    27. Mad-andy, Missouri says:

We have had no checks in our government since the 17th ammendment was passed allowing the Senate to campaign for their position instead of being appointed by their state. If a person is not subject to recall for their actions, they do as they wish.

I was wondering how long it would take the Obamanauts to show their true colors. If you cannot argue with the facts of an issue because you are a lier, you attack the person making the accusation. What is next Woodrow Wilson style round-ups of dissidents?

I don't think sending e-mails to flag@whitehouse.gov as a tactic is a very good one. We might crash their e-mail for a day, but I guarantee they have a whole herd of people being paid to do nothing more than get every little bit of dirt they can on YOU. Do you want a visit from the IRS? BATF? ACORN?

    28. Mike, Williamsburg, says:

My attempt to email flag@whitehose.com was rejected with message "SMTP authentication required". Either they are getting swamped with protest responses or they have decided to limit access to friends, only. How typical of our "transparency promise" president!

    29. Cheryl,RN- Texas says:

I found out about this horrifying website statement yesterday… "Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

I was so moved that I sat down and e-mailed everyone I know to inform them of this website. Inform everyone you know that our First Amendment Right is being challenged!

    30. Dennis A. Social Cir says:

The dems and health care is like letting the fox guard the hen house. they will not come at it head first, but will go around to the back door and sneak in like a thief in the night. I have experienced "guvernment" run health care as a veteran. When I was younger I was seen after, now that I am older it is a different story. I am now put on the back burner, my time a taxpayer is limited due to my age, therefore I will be told to wait, or to try this treatment. What I gather from all this is soon I will die and care will not be needed. How will you feel when this happens to your loved ones????? Why will the members of Congress and the obama family not seek out the "public plan"????? When all the "guvernment" people except the plan as their primary care, then it may be good for all. They will never go there, so it will never be good for all the ordinary citizens.

If this problem is fixed, we need to allow competition between the insurance companies, insurance needs to be excepted in all 50 states, not just in your home state. The pay rate for all insurance companies needs to be the same for hospitals and doctors, We need coverage for pre-existing conditions, not be denied because of them. Yea, I understand that obama says all this, but some big wheel, and we all know what dogs do to wheels, will be the one decideing what treatment we get, Age will play a big part, will we get treatment or be sent to a class to learn how to get along blind, or how to prepare to die. Read the bill both options are in it.

This thing needs to be stoped in its tracks, and those that are pushing for it need to be put in the street not in DC.

    31. Bob J, PA says:

Am I to believe that only Repus and Conservatives are going to these townhalls ? I guess all those folks at the TEA parties were too.

I think a little welcome back from vacation "greeting party" on the steps of the Congress Building would be loved our "elected officials"

I'd help if you would. e-mail to rjent1@comcast.net

    32. Bryan in FLA says:

Great articles. All that is missing is Obama's own words from 2003 stating emphatically that he prefers single payor insurance. The question should be can we keep our own insurance now, but rather "when" do they plan on eliminating private insurance because clearly that is their goal. Not now, but down the line.

    33. Peggy Cravens, Austi says:

I am thankful for the Heritage Foundation and I pray that Americans just keep speaking and fighting against this evil.

    34. Mikey, Colorado says:

Everyone is arguing over which socialized medicine is better, one run by the govt or one run by the corporations. True free market health care would have neither. No middlemen. Doctors charge what the market will bear, patients shop for the best value. Believe it or not, the answer is NO insurance for anyone. Think about it.

    35. Roy Reed, Las Vegas says:

Obama is ruining the Unuted States of America! Obama hates this country…. WHY doesn't he go where he can live the way he is trying to make this country!!!!! People better wake up! We do not want Communism, Socialism, a dictator or any other kind of government. We have worked to hard to keep this country free of such stuff!!!It was built on Capitalism. He is trying to tell us how to live!! We want the car of our choice, healthcare of our choice ;in other words stop trying to take all of our Freedoms away. We have heard nothing but lies out of Obama's mouth. Big government is his adgenda, to heck with the people in this country. We have not heard anything about drilling for oil or gas . He wants TOTAL control at our expense. The Republicans better get off their duffs and do something NOW!!! Obama does not care how much money he is spending, it's not out of his pocket!!!! We have no respect for Obama! The next thing he will be doing will be to tell everyone where they drive, what they can eat!!! How can he and Gore believe that global warming can be solved by just the US? The other countries are not going along with Obama!! Pelosi, Reid and Obama are hateful people!!! Democrats are worried and they should be!!!! All those who voted Obama in should have read between the lines before they voted!!!! Everytime he spoke he lied!!!

    36. Brad L, Phoenix says:

To all my friends at Heritage. I sent the email to flag@whitehouse.gov and I am awaiting some type of reply. Rest assured that all will know what action the white house takes in response to my email.

My Navy ensign "Don't Tread on Me" can easily be moved from inside my garage to fly outside beneath my US Flag in a heartbeat.

    37. Eddie MacIsaac, San says:

Misinformation is a big problem, the program is properly called "Obamacide"

    38. Mark, Virginia says:

      Dear White House and DNC,

Are these not the same jack-booted thug type of tactics that you attack "neo-cons," the NRA, the RNC, and other conservative for? Is free speech no longer a part of the "living constitution" ideology? Do you truly believe that the ends actually justify the means? If this is the case, then please refrain from continuing to attempt to tailor a document that has ensured our freedom and way of life as a Republic of States for over 200 years! Simply because I may disagree with you, does not make me a conspirator, wrong, un-American, or part of some disinformation scheme.

    39. Patrick Byers, Austi says:

The "misinformation" the White House is supposedly fighting is the strawman of forced instant socializing of our healthcare system. Nobody believes this. This bill is designed to start a war of attrition against private insurance companies.

If you combine Obama's words with the language of the bill, it would come out something like this:

"Let me be clear. If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. That is, for as long as your insurance company can continue to compete with a plan subsidized with your tax money."

    40. Marshall,Michigan says:

My Rep. Mark Shuarer is not going to have any town hall meetings during the summer recess. Is he afraid of what will happen or soes he want to live in Neverland? If he wants National Health care he will have it for him self as I will do everything in my power to unseat him in the next election cycle.

    41. Bob Veigel, Arlingto says:

The only people lying about this 'health kill bill' are those in the Obama administration. And the lies flow every day in every way. These people are experts in lie telling and have no compunctions about their actions. Their approaches just reek evil.

    42. jake,lhc says:

Need we send any more to Linda Douglas the CZAR of refabrication of disinformation(LIAR IN Western NEBRASKA)of the obama proganda adminstration.

I seen the unedited Video of obama speaking to the AFL-CIO Metting on obama wanting single payer healthcare but it may take 20 years to get it overtime.

obama AND THE DEMOCRATS ARE ONE BIG LIE whether it is obamacare or the stimulus.

It time shut off the TV of mainstream media as they promote obamas LIES.

KILL OBAMACARE BEFORE IT KILL AMERICA.

    43. William (Bill)m S. E says:

The following letter was sent to the White House informants email address at flag@whitehouse.gov.

      To Whom It May Concern:

I and several million others saw your missive today on “FreeRepublic.com” via http://www.newsnetusa.com. And I quote; “There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

Aside from the fact that your actions and this call for informant’s verges on those of the Old Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, I have to say that you morons have finally lost you minds! As Americans become more and more aware of what you are doing and what is taking place within our government and most especially the Executive Branch, Their anger is going too exploded in ways that I doubt you are capable of imagining.

Just for the record, I have read the Health care reform bill very carefully, and I have publicly spoken out against it for the following reasons.

      1. First and foremost it is unconstitutional

      2. It is immoral in the extreme

      3. It is a walk into never never land if the Congress and the President believes that this will solve the health issues of this country.

      4. Since its beginning the President and the Congress have done nothing but lie about the cost and the benefits to the American Public, despite the contrary information coming out of the Budget control Office.

      5. Campaign promises made by the President are turning into nothing more that vaporous words and now it appears that the middle class are going to be taxed in order to pay for this abomination.

      6. Both the Health care Bill and Cap and Trade are designed to do nothing more than drive the American people into instant poverty and Third World Status.

      7. You claim that you have the support of the majority of the people of the United States when you don’t, and as each day goes by it becomes more and more evident you don’t.

      8. Oh and by the way what started out as Heath care reform is now Health Insurance Reform? Give me a break. Sounds to me like what started out as a Duck has suddenly turned into a skunk. Americans are not as stupid as you obviously think we are.

These are but a few of the reasons why I speak out publicly against Health care as dreamed by the Congress and the President. I will continue to speak out publicly about what I believe to be a lie and against our Constitution, because I AM an American and it is my right under the First Amendment.

By the way…where is the birth certificate?

I will send to the Presidents email ALL the information that I receive from Congress, the MSM, etc. about their Health Care. Those are

      the big lies.

    46. Delilah, New Jersey says:

What is happening in our country.. these people are traitors to the american people!! they are goin against the voice of the people!..They have to do what we say.. ! If he signs this bill.. the people will revolt against him , with a fury!! All hell will break loose.!

    47. joan, connecticut says:

The Health care bill is disturbing, yet Congress is determined to push it through. Senator Schumer, said that he is ready to use reconciliation to get it passed. This is a despicable move on his part, only 50 votes are needed to pass this insult to American citizens. What makes it worse is that we now find out the so called elected senators and house members never read the bills they vote on! WHAT! Would you sign papers that would affect your families life, without knowing what you are committing to? Many of the politicians are lawyers and make sure their families are taken care of with gilt edged health insurance. They have exempted themselves and their families, from the plan they tell is so wonderful. I am so sick of their dirty tricks, and hope that Americans will demand term limits in order to put an end to the cozy life career politicians set up for themselves. Senior citizens are not getting an increase this year, but the Congress will enjoy the raise they voted for themselves. Doesn't that make you happy for these poor pols, who enter congress with a $160,000 salary and somehow after a few years have fat bank accounts. Can anyone spell LOBBYISTS and the buying of votes?

    48. Debbie, Cameron, SC says:

      My response sent to flag@whitehouse.gov

With all due respect, the only disinformation I see comes out of the White House. Words straight out of our Presidents mouth indicate his belief in a government run, single-payer system. It may take time to achieve but this is his ultimate goal. It appears no one in his organization is bothering to listen to the majority of the American people and their dislike for this plan. If this plan is so great I expect the President, Congress and the Senate to be in the plan. After all they are the creators of this unread, unfair, unreasonable, one-sided, obscene, horribly expensive package.

This country deserves an honest debate about health care. Nothing this important should be rushed. Everyone voting on this bill should be made to read it in its entirety before voting and I don't mean having their aides read it for them. How dare representatives laughing at the thought of reading the bill they are producing. How stupid they are for thinking the American people don't have enough sense to make their own decisions about health care or to understand basic accounting. The numbers don't add up and the middle class will pay taxes in one form or another.

This President has been the most dishonest, misleading and pompous person I have seen in a long time. Transparency my foot! The man doesn't know the meaning of the word. What a disappointment.

    49. Nicki , Texas says:

I agree with mad-andy, the government will use the web-site to get information on disidents and punish them. Liberals have never answered any debate issues with real facts, they just shout everyone down with incessant screaming, witness any program that has a liberal and conservative both "discussing" points. They are already trying to label the cable programs as trash and disinformation. Why don't they use the word mis-information. That is what we are getting.

I am a senior and already do not like medicare. I like my healthcare I have because I work. Not because I want to, because at 70 years of age I have to. I will never be able to retire but may be forced to if my health fails because of Obamacare being implemented. I guess they will give me counseling to make me comfortable about sitting in a chair waiting to expire.

    50. Bryon Wenrich says:

You note that "So the President SAYS the public option will not lead to single payer health care … but a number of prominent people are saying the exact opposite"

But you left out the best one, Obama himself in his own words!

      http://www.breitbart.tv/uncovered-video-obama-exp

Watch and forward to everyone so they know his true intentions.

    51. Tim Johnson says:

Don't you conservatives that are so quick to trash anything positive that will help people with less money than you know how bad the "best health care system in world" (your words)really is. Your own CIA published a list of the 50 best health care systems and the US was number 50! The Scandinavian

countries that conservatives love to hate were in the top 10. Find out some facts before you mouth off in public.

    52. steve,ak says:

Our response to flag@whitehouse.gov should be, "I am Spartecus", as a grassroots protest against state enforced slavery.

    53. Evan, Anchorage says:

The only way I am for health care reform is if we copy some other countries. Why do they not say that we are going to do like this countries. Lou Dobbs had a good explanation of how Germany's works. This country is too broke for experiments.

    54. Doris, FL. says:

This Health bill is not about heath care,it's about CONTROL!!. People better wake up before we lose all our rights.

I like the health care that I now have, leave it alone.

If Obama really wants to insure all those people who don't (or won't) buy their own, ask them why? You will find out it is not on their list of "things I need".Very few people really can't afford insurance. Take care of those that can't and leave the rest of us alone.

We are United States Citizens and we are not willing to pay for illegal's from any country.

One more thing. Illegal's children should not be automatic citizens that needs to be removed! Some come here just in time to have their babies for that reason. Those in our Government who do vote for this bill may be on the unemployed list come 2010.

    55. Bobby, Cedar Hill, T says:

      J. White has the right idea. I propose that "We the People" vote against every incumbent candidate for the next three election cycles (2010, 2012, 2014)for all elections. This includes primaries, local elections, and general elections. That should pretty well clear the decks of the professional politicians that the Founding Fathers never envisioned.

After that, we should remind them that because they work for us, we demand a Constitutional Amendment to limit the terms for elected officials. That would be no more than 6 years spent in office for the lifetime of the elected official. Additionally, no retirement pay or benefits for ex-elected officials. Current incumbents would be taxed at the 90% rate on their retirement for the remainder of their lives. This must be fast-tracked.

Finally, We the People, need to understand that we are fighting a war on two fronts. The one front is the Liberal/Marxist assault on our nation, its history, accomplishments, and the average citizen who does not live on the East or Left coasts. The second front is a war of civilizations. One of the immutable principles of War is to know your enemy. No American politician of either party has had the courage to identify that we have been at War with a civilization that yearns for the 7th Century for the last 60 years. You can't beat them if you won't name them.

    56. Pete W., Lancaster, says:

      Dear Mr. President,

With all due repsect, I believe if you were honest with yourself, and forthright (how come we cannot see a real birth certificate? I had/have to show mine for required documents as I go through life, passport, etc., but you do not as a Presidential candidate, unbelievable), and truly cared about the American people, you, your adminstration, and this Congress would realize that most hard working (if we are still working, since you and your political friends and predescessors since the 1980's have allowed/encouraged a business environment that invited manufacturers to move off shore), tax paying Americans are not in need of the media, or anyone else to stir them up where the healthcare reform debate/agenda is concerned. Your administration and this Congress show everyday how elitist you have become, and how out of touch you are with the needs of the real America, how much disdain you feel for the American people. The challenges your party's Congressional folks are getting at home, at their townhall meetings about your policies, especially the healthcare reform bill (especially since none of you have read it, as admitted by nearly all), are real. The apparent disregard for patience, careful thought, or interest in getting real feedback from your "customers" on this bill's "guts", without discussing specifics (you work for us, not the reverse), again speaks to how out of touch the Federal Government has become. Your desire to control, and reduce the freedoms given the American people by the Constitution is reprehensible! You do not know better than us, what we need or want. The resolve, fight, and passion being displayed at the various town meetings, in our country is not "coached", conjured, or dramatized. Take heed, these consistent demonstrations are truly portaying how frustrated the American people are becoming with the heavy handed, power fortifying, out of touch practises of our Federal Government.

Please remember Mr. President (and please know we are passing our messages to our representatives in the Congress too), you work for us, we do not work for you, we are not stupid, we do not want the government to control our lives, and we are watching more closely than ever.

    57. Evelyn in Loganville says:

      Dear Mr President,

You have done a fine job of spending my money, making sure that many of my family members are on the verge of banruptcy, taking ownership of the car manufactures and putting thugs in charge of what you think are my thoughts. Make me proud, do as the Japanesse president did and fire the whole lot!

    58. ZiaBlues, New Mexico says:

Maggie from Texas asked if older congressmen are on Medicare. I can tell you they are NOT. Congress does NOT pay in to Social Security. They just make the laws & regs that we on SS have to deal with. They are exempt. They have their very choice private retirement funded by us, the taxpayers. Congress also doesn't want to be on Obamacare if it passes. They want to keep their "Cadillac Health Care Ins" provided by and paid for by taxpayers money.

    59. Warpublican, NYC says:

Very disingenuous – there is NO Obama healthcare plan as of yet – but most polls show that people APPROVE of aspects – such as a public option and taxing the rich – and more importantly, everyone agrees that Republicans have no ideas to add to the mix… And while Obama has asked for incidents of false information being spread by opponents of healthcare reform, they're not asking for names – merely the false rumors to be debunked – similar to the one being spread on this very website which I'm debunking right here.

    60. Bonnie Ft Lauderdale says:

The fishy thing about the health care reform is the fact that these senators have the nerve to look us in the face and explain something that they have not even read. I am tired of Washington thinking the American people are stupid.

    61. B. Johnson, USA says:

Constitution-ignorant US citizens DESERVE to tremble in their boots at the thought of an Orwellian White House. The truth of the matter is that, given that the federal Constitution is silent about public health care, the 10th A. automatically reserves government power to regulate health care to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress. And until citizens wise up to the fact that the corrupt federal government is grossly overstepping its constitutional limits, they DESERVE all the big government that they get.

    62. Bob Johnson, San Car says:

I am a Heritage member. I am also a retired senior with a B.S (not the Obama kind) and an MBA as well as having extensive experience

in the health care industry including Canada and the UK. National Healthcare is a disaster in these countries. AARP has been co-opted by the Obama administration and I have cancelled my membership and am encouraging other seniors to do the same.

      Signed

      Rabble-rousing, right wing senior

    63. Chuck Leith, Phx. AZ says:

Is it possible that we have heard alot of fishy stories on healthcare from this administration and Congress? Do you think that we should inform the White House, or whitehouse.gov of this? It is our duty as citizens to give our government what is do to them. Right?

    64. ken in Santa Barbara says:

I suspect the White house gets the Morning Bell already. I'll send it to them anyway. It's always an uphill struggle to try to get information to the masses. Anybody here have a suggestion as to who they would like to see in a debate? Let's do this thing and get open discussion between the proponents and the uninformed. That is the best way to spark real gains in two way dialogue. Hope to hear from the Morning Bell soon with their suggestions. I would oppose James David Manning or IBD reporters if you suggest them otherwise I would venture that you could get a rep from Obama to debate the issue with say Conn or …..you choose.

    65. Roberta PA says:

I cannot believe that the Obama Adminstration wants to know who opposes his healthcare reform. What is this? China, Russia, Venezuela? Last time I looked we had freedom of speech. This is getting out of hand. I have lived through many presidents, and NEVER has a president asked for people to "tattletale" on other Americans. I was appalled at his comment on Gates at the press conference, thinking that was way beyond a president to make a comment on that, but now THIS? This is scary. He has so much power, and he is weilding it in anyway he can. He is NOT for the American people, he is for power and control over us. And this is just the beginning. He has only been in power for 7 months, what is he planning for the next 3 years? Will America still be America?

    66. A. Terranova, Ormond says:

Next week the Fed will hold a HUGE auction of Treasuries. The effect: This will continue to ADD to our national debt which, currently, is approx. 12 TRILLION dollars. In fact the interest alone on this debt is between 2 and 4 BILLION dollars A DAY!!!! Why are they doing this? First of all, the Fed can, and will, continue to print money into infinity because it must; we are bankrupt. By printing money endlessly, the Fed is flooding our monetary system w/dollars the effect of which is INFLATION; ultimately MASSIVE inflation. Under the U.S. Constitution, the Fed does not have the power to print money; this is ILLEGAL. Does it matter to the Fed or the Treasury? No, it does not. Overlay on top of this, huge budget deficits, stimulus monies, bailouts, and now the health insurance reform bill that the president and Congress want to ram down our throats. What, in effect, will all of this accomplish? Our national sovereignty; our demise as a free nation. How? We will be unable to sustain such rising debt and unsustainable deficits. Don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise. It is inevitable.

    67. Ron, Derry NH says:

Everything the Democrats have pretended to be has come to naught. They are not the defenders of free speech, free expression, freedom of enterprise or diversity.

They are in fact Comrades in arms against everything that makes America great.

Reform starts with the government out of the private sector, reform starts with allowing free speech not to be threatened by the Obama goon squad, reform starts with less money in the hands of politicians, reform is not the Democrat party.

      Reform is the next election.

America does know how to clean house, every voting person must rise up to defend America from the hoard of democrat socialist sympathizers before our children are enslaved to their will and debt and never get to live without the oppression of government limitations on everything you hold dear.

I applaud the blind servants of socialism that worship the falsehood of the Obama cure for their steadfast loyalty even under the pressure of reality; it is good to know that blind faith needs no evidence to support it and that ignorance is still bliss!

    68. ZiaBlues, New Mexico says:

Warpublican states: everyone agrees that Republicans have no ideas to add to the mix…

Ahem,EVERYONE does not agree. The GOP has lots of reform ideas, IRS insurance credit for taxpayers, portablility from any state in our union, tort reform and much more.

I have the Health Care proposal passed by the House, H.R. 3200, in PDF file and have actually been reading it and it is chilling. It is simple nomenclature to refer to all this as Obamacare. He wants it, the Dems have absolute power in congress, they want it….and so it goes.

    69. thomas cates, states says:

We elected representatives we thought would fight in our (the peoples) best interest instead they act like a bunch of mindless fools following and graveling at the feet of this person who is destroying America and then thumb their nose at us as though we don't exist when we try to voice our opinions. Well we will have the last say on election day Goodbye to all of you and what you have done can be undone by the next President.

    70. Bobbie Jay says:

Is "disinformation" a word? The only misinformation is government bloating on issues of bills they have not read entirely. To treat us as if we do not have the human instinct to live out our own existence.

It would be interesting to know how much time it took to write this healthcare piece of corruption bill and to see the faces of every author.

Irrational, corrupt, cover-up, to destroy our freedoms, our right to choose, our personal responsibilities, to force the people to live off government.

No government help needed. STAY OUT!

The only mob is the government majority with the president leading the way.

    71. Cheryl, La Verne, CA says:

What's "fishy" is what is going on in our government. What does the White House mean when when they say "fishy?" Are they going to punish all those that oppose Obamacare? Are they going to deny us our constitutional right of freedom of speech? Obama ran his campaign on the internet. When will Obama realize that we are all ordinary people that are standing up for our rights? How do we get our voices heard if not for townhall meetings, tea parties, email and letters? Obama thrives on townhall meetings. How many now?? All I can say is keep praying for our country.

    72. Cogito- Omaha, NE says:

Any more stimulus, crap-and-trade, Obamacare in this economy would be that action of a madman or one who is advancing the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

    73. Deb, Ct says:

Sounds like the "community organizer" doesn't like to be presented with the facts. A community has organized and is telling the former "organizer" that we don't want single payer healthcare. Simple and straight. Pure transparency, as I "see" it.

Read my lips, "NO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE".

    74. David, OK says:

Yeah, I smell somthing "fishy" and it is coming FROM the White House.

How about this guys, we all send an email to flag@whitehouse.gov and tell them to "take out the trash, that fishy smell is coming FROM the White House"

    75. Steve, Michigan says:

I sent this one to the White House's email address:

I understand that the White House is asking for information regarding those who oppose the proposed health care “reform” being considered by the Democrats. I am one of those who oppose it. Please count me as opposed. I am also opposed to the disinformation being put out there by the Democrats.

I can support a voucher system that will allow for private enterprise and free competition for health services. That’s the only way the costs will be contained. Trying to avoid market based solutions is like trying to avoid gravity: You can pretend it’s not there only so long.

Thanks for providing this opportunity to comment.

    76. Douglas - PA says:

Once the petition from http://www.freeourhealthcarenow.com/ is given to congress, the white house will learn of at least one million folks that are against this plan! I am one of them.

    77. Christine, Minnesota says:

      Jim Orlando,FL:

I also wrote an email to the White House inquiring what they are going to do with the people "caught" sharing "fishy" information about Healthcare-I still have yet to get a response. Maybe that is why he wants to clear out Gitmo-to store us Right Wing Extremists!

    78. Mike Sheahen, Hickor says:

"So how can the White House both appease its Leftist base, which wants single-payer/government-run health care, and mollify the vast majority of Americans, who want to keep their current health insurance providers? By creating a government-run "public option" designed to slowly eliminate private insurance over time".

      Exactly!

In other words, the so-called "Progressives (Leftists)" know that we, the people of the United States, won't quietly accept government taking control of our lives all at once, through such as government-controlled so-called "health care"; however, fortunately for the government elitist and statist Left, but unfortunately for us, the people, they know that they can "boil that frog" through such as their calling things by different misleading names and speaking misleadingly but gradually end our control of our lives "one-degree-at-a-time", as their so-called "Progressive (Leftist)" predecessors and contemporaries, and even our history to this day, have shown and proven, and continue to show and prove.

A revealing illustration of this is what Norman Thomas (a Leftist who ran repeatedly for [U.S.] President as the Socialist candidate) said when he said "The American people will not knowingly accept Socialism, but under the name 'Liberalism' they will gradually accept every part of our Socialist program until one day America will wake up a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened", and he went on to illustrate that fact by saying that he didn't really need to run as a Socialist candidate for President because the Democrat Party had already embraced the Socialist platform.

Indeed it is as the old truism goes: "How do you boil a frog? 1-degree-at-a-time!"

Meaning: If you try to boil a frog all at once, it probably will try to jump right out, but if you raise the temperature "1-degree-at-a-time", then by the time that frog realizes it's being boiled to death it will be too late.

So especially now, as never before, it is so-called “Progressive (Leftist)” government elitists and statists such as Obama and his Comrades and their government elitist and statist power and money-grabs to take control of our lives, such as through government controlled so-called “health care”, which we, the people, must somehow stop.

That is unless, of course, we all want our lives, our freedoms, and our resources to be that boiled to death “frog" and so make what Norman Thomas said come completely true…that one day (when it's too late) America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

    79. J.C. Hughes, Texas says:

Blazing Saddles Johnson, I honestly didn't know the different Scandinavian countries shared a common public plan. Please educate the rest of us. According to the web's CIA statistics, Finland ranked 114th in overall population. Denmark was 111th, Sweden was 88th. Our good old USA came in 4th. This means we have a whole lot of people spread over a large geographical area. In other words, we're not Scandinavia. As an anti-federalist independent, I strongly believe in limited government being closest to the people served. The federal's role is and should be constitutionally limited to national defense. All else, most especially social entitlement and welfare programs, belong at the state and local levels.

      1. President Obama at his 6/15/09 AMA speech said, and I quote:"Nobody is talking about a government take over of the health care ."

      2. Here's the "fishy" part: He said on 3/24/2007 while running for president to the SEIU confernece that, and I quote, "Universal Health care is something I want by the end of my first term as president." Also, in 2003 he told the AFL-CIO conference he was "for a single payer system."

So he was either lying then or now, either way it is still a lie. You can not change the facts, they have been recorded for all intelligent Americans to hear. You can control the state media, but you can not control FREE AMERCIANS THOUGHTS.

Its time that not only health care, but cap and spending about everything that Mr. O and his Queen in Congress Nancy Pelosi are trying to implement fabian socialism. We are sick of people telling us how to talk , how to change our lights, how to do everything like robots, control.Mr. O, understand you work for us? "We the People…"

Keep making this country middle class mad Mr. Ob and Ms. Pelosi. They might all just file at their work place on the w-4 form "Tax Exempt!" Now what if everyone said, enough is enough, and did that just for a month Mr. O?

    94. Joseph Fitzpatrick says:

Do not tread anymore on us Mr. O. You do not show the wisdom or the experience to protect this Country. Release your records. In the State of WA to run for office you must do a "public disclosure." What makes you exempt Mr. O? Release your school records. There must be something your hiding? Any honest man/women would obey the laws when they run for office. What makes you special I ask?

    95. Ron, Derry NH says:

Never before have we seen an administration declare for free speech to be suppressed and promote squealing upon the opposition like debate wasn't good, call the right to assemble "MOBS", like we are illegal aliens or something; and never before did American presidents seize the assets of free enterprise to instill socialism.

However…I guess we are not in Kansas anymore.

    96. Ken, Brownsburg IN says:

Of course, Obama's health care plan will not "do away with" the private insurer. The insurance seeker will eventually spurn the private health care insurer because the government will make him/her an offer they can't refuse, as the old mafia adage states. It will appear that people are choosing the gov't plan over the private insurer when in fact the people will, in some way, be pressured into saving rather than sacrificing themselves to silly principles.

We will be seduced into placing ourselves willingly into slavery to the government.

The Obama administration has completely quashed the rights of the American citizen.

Why should it be a concern if a strong public option leads to a single payer health insurance system in the future. Canada and Europe has it and is working better than our system. The hc doesnt kick in until 2013, but paying for it begins in 2011. That is plenty of time to listen to what America's citizens want instead of rushing through a bill that only satisfies "some" of the Democrats constituency. Are they interested in listening? Not likely given the pushback against the teaparty movement and right wing mob references used in pressers. They do not want debate and ideas. They want us to shut up and take their medicine.

In fact, the advent of Tricare was out of a government cost saving strategy to privatize the poorly run military system. Tricare is only marginally adequate (affectionately &sarcastically called "try to see if we care"). Most providers won't take it since it reimbursement is dismal (worse than medicare).

The government has no business with it's hands in healthcare, and should only work to reform insurance and health policy from a lawmaking perspective. When the government says it should run healthcare, they're saying they know better how to spend our money–this is proven false again and again. We cannot allow them to have their hand in this too, as we will all lose our health and freedom.

    139. Dennis, Shenzhen, Ch says:

The administration does not say why a public option would be a competitive threat. Given the inefficiency and politically motivated decisions in any govt. program, the answer is not obvious to all. It is cost shifting.

Using 2007 data for Connecticut hospitals as an example: Medicare paid 91% of cost Medicaid 67% of cost and private payers 118% of cost. Big insurance plans with much negotiating leverage surely did better than the 118% and individual and small group plans certainly did worse. If you assume a small business plan paid 136% of cost, that is a 50% increase over what Medicare pays (let alone Medicaid).

With that kind of a cost advantage and more cost shifting to come even a poorly run government plan will be a competitive threat.

WARNING TO MY AMERICAN FATHERS AND MOTHERS, BROTHERS AND SISTERS: Be careful my friends, the administration is looking for an excuse for police action. Why do I say that? If they are bold (or stupid) enough to malign American citizens for asking questions and speaking out against their proposals, then they simply have contempt for us. And when a government has contempt for its people, that institution set apart by God to protect its people will become a curse. And a cursed government is a most evil institution. And an evil istitution seeks its end by any means.

My fellow Americans, I see things in black and white more often than not. A learned man I am not. I don't like to read much, and I'm busy with my life. (maybe it's time to get on my a__ and start.) But it does not take a rocket scientist to see a lie. And deceit is evil. And the nature of evil is slavery to it.

Let us watch our deeds, our words, to not give them fair excuse. But also beware of those wolves in sheeps clothing who seek to give truthful souls bad names. Let us not give heed to those who claim our cause but seek violence to the end. Violence is a product of evil. As free people, we seek peaceful lives not intruded by government. As free people, we seek whatever means peacefully to advance our cause. I believe that only when the state becomes forceful and harmful physically, we have the right granted by the Costitution to defend ourselves.

I believe if we humble ourselves to the God, who by grace, gave us this greatest of nations, good, in the end will prevail. Let us be a people the Founding Fathers would be proud of. Patience and steadfastness my fellow Americans.

      i just submitted this:

      • Noble Prize winning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman: “[T]he only reason not to do [single-payer] is that politically it’s hard to do in one step…You’d have to convince people completely give up the insurance they have, whereas something that lets people keep the insurance they have but then offers the option of a public plan, that may evolve into single-payer.”

and you know what else is "fishy"?? this email address!

      Welcome Back Stalin!

Keep up the pressure. The pressure to be transparent, to answer the tough questions and to understand what our Congress is voting on. We need our Congress to recognize that costs will increase not decrease. That there will still be millions of uninsured even after we spend an additional $1 trillion. That the only way costs will be controlled is rationing of health care resources. We need to understand that under the current proposals the economic rationing that we have today will be traded off for end of life rationing tomorrow. We need to understand that the US will lose its advantage with regard to developing health care breakthroughs and that no other country will come to take our place.

I'm especially intrigued by the idea of Government paid abortions for the helpless unborn which is now apparently being planned to include our senior citizens, like myself, through End of life counseling as opposed to possible curative, though long term, treatments, chemotherapies, etc.

Well, I can see that such an approach would definitely save some money though I find it difficult to believe that the American people truly want that to happen or truly understand that lawmakers don't write things into laws that they don't intend to enforce. There can be no other intention than that which is written regardless of how much lipstick and denial they put on the pig, it's still a pig.

      Two thoughts on this one

      Second thought

maybe instead of flag@whitehouse.gov it should be silencetheopposition@whitehouse.gov

I think as well as many out there that health care should be an option for all… which I heard the other day that over 80% of the people polled had insurance (Rasmussen poll I believe) and another chunk qualifying for state sponsored medical programs lets say 15% of the population needing health care of some kind… Lets think about trillions for 15% of the population. at a population around 305 million =45,750,000 people now conservatively the cost at a trillion =$21,857.92 per uninsured person

      lets look at better options

Strange that I don't see a balanced discussion on the topic listed here given that the country is actually pretty split on healthcare reform.

Reducing rising costs of health care is not a new issue. The debate has been around for quite a while. Why is it that health care related companies have suddenly agreed that it is an issue and are now coming forward with token suggestions on how to reduce costs? If they have known about the problem, why have they waited so long to address it? Even so, their proposals would not significantly alter the projected cost trajectory for health care.

While some would have you believe that having more private health care competition will lower costs, what they don't tell you is that this will also decrease overall efficiency in health care delivery and administration. This will lead to more spending on service duplication and administrative overhead, reducing dollars available for patient care, and lowering quality of medical care. Every business person knows that the best way to lower your costs (and prices), is to increase your efficiency in administration and delivery, which is done through merging multiple providers. This also increases price negotiating leverage for services and materials (drugs, equipment, etc). A single payer system gives you the most leverage, and lowest cost of delivery long term.

In the short term, health care costs in the US will likely rise. However, getting to a single payer system will lower costs for the longer term. Get on-board. Your children will thank you for it.

    181. Janet, Round Rock, T says:

Ted Kennedy is 77…let's start with putting him on Obamacare. He is the perfect candidate for 'end of life counseling'. Or is the Senator too good for Obamacare?

    210. skoshilady says:

      Hello All,

Want to know what really goes on when Obama goes to a town hall meeting. Surprise.

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to

Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news

has not covered. I feel that since Bill and I live here and we were at

the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you

decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share

this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before

      you forward this on.

On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the

President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are

against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking

and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not

release ANY details other than the date.

On about Tuesday Bill found out that they would be holding the

"Town Hall" at the airport. (This is only because Bill knows EVERYONE at

the airport) Our airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny

town) in a very remote location. Nothing is around there. They chose to

use a hangar that is the most remotely located hangar. You could not

pick a more remote location, and you can not get to it easily. It is

      totally secluded from the public.

FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have

held a large amount of folks with sufficient parking.

(gymnasiums/auditoriums). All of which have chairs and tables, and would

not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$$

During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in

constantly. Airport employees could not believe how it just kept coming.

Though it was our President coming several expressed how excessive it

was, especially during a recession. $$$$$

Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets

would be handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president

would be arriving around 12:30 Friday.

Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However,

1500 were printed at a Local printing shop per White House request.

      Hmmmm……900 tickets just DISAPPEARED.

That same morning someone called into the radio station from the local

UPS branch and said that THOUSANDS of dollars worth of Lobster were shipped in

for Obama. Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would

have been really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of

Recession?? Just think…with all of the traveling the White House is doing. $$$$$

One can only imagine what else we are paying for.

On Friday, Bill and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The

groups that wanted to protest Obama's spending and healthcare had gotten

a permit to protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be.

A large bus carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union)

members drove up onto the area (illegal)and unloaded right there. It was

quite a commotion and there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make

trouble and start a fight. Police did get involved and arrested the one

man but they said they did not have the manpower to remove the SEIU

      crowd.

The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were

under the age of 30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and

PROFESSIONALLY made signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and

Planned Parenthood folks were with them…..professing abortion rights

with their T-shirts and preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did

have a permit to protest in ANOTHER area)

Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd

to avoid confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though

SEIU kept coming over and walking through, continuing to be very

intimidating and aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.

So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their

homemade signs and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys,

nurses, doctors you name it. There was even a guy from Texas who had

been driving through. He found out about the occasion, went to the

store, made a sign, and came to protest.

If you are wondering about the press…..Well, all of the major

networks were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were

conveniently parked on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of

these crowds were even visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew

      anything about the crowds.

We did have some local news media around us from this state and

Idaho . Speaking of the local media…they were invited. However, all

questions were to be turned into the White House in advance of the

event. Wouldn't want anyone to have to think off the top of their head.

It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled

by the White House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail

to make it appear that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government

healthcare. Even those people that talked about their insurance

woes……..the White House called our local HRDC (Human Resource and

Development Committee) and asked for names. Then the White House asked

those folks to come. Smoke and mirrors…EVERYTHING was

      staged!!!!

I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White

House. The amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I

was not living in the United States of America , more like the USSR !! I

was physically nauseous. Bill and I have been around when Presidents or

Heads of State visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very

frightened for our country. America needs your prayers and your voices.

If you care about our country please get involved. Know the issues. And

let Congress hear your voices again and again!! If they are willing to

put forth so much effort to BULLY a small town one can only imagine what

is going on in Washington DC . Scary!!
