Blame Game, apparent throughout this fledgling administration, that had all of the right answers during the campaign. Somehow this entire economic situation was inherited from the previous administration. Looking at Biden’s statement in part “we and everyone else misread the economy”. I think “we” says it all when two years ago, the democratic party assumed control of the house and senate. Americans on a whole will see trough to truth because of the unique opportunity only afforded us through our Constitution and the dillegence of our Forefathers. Americans who have any question, should not question the genius that is our Constitution “We the People”.

I am stunned by the unchallenged assertion that “everyone else” misread the state of the economy. It is further confirmation of the “inside the beltway” thinking that is the hallmark of this administration. Mr. Biden might spend an hour or two a week reading the words of Thomas Sowell, George Will or Walter Williams. If he had he would have seen that not “everyone else” was fooled by what was coming and therefore would not have been so foolish in the remedy they pursued.

Once again, whatever the administration says, it seems the opposite is true. Obama and Biden spent months overestimating the problem with the economy. Does the phrase “Worse than anything since the great depression” ring a bell with anybody. Biden has once again walked straight into a bold faced lie; in actuality they overestimated the effect that their lame brained policies would have on the economy. Biden’s comments were simply misdirection and back peddling, something their party has taken to a high art form.

The government does not create jobs-it creates more government to interfere with business as normal. The government doles out millions to outsource and takes the credit and has estimators, bean counters and inspectors all on the take.
Perhaps, the 150,000 is the number of illegals who crossed the border to do the stimulous jobs.

I agree. How can you “mis-read” how bad it is when all along you were telling everyone we had the “worst economy since the great depression”. They failed to mention that FDR took a mild recession and formed the great depression with his “stimulus spending” and governemnt regulation.
I, unlike others here, am very excited about the future and the opportunities for me and my children. Some will be “left standing” at the end of this thing and hopefully I am one with a few bucks left. Osama Obama (per Teddy), is reducing this economy and the price of homes and businesses everywhere…I plan to be there to pick up a few pieces at a far reduced price than today. Gather your savings and wait. You will have great opportunities when Obama is done killing our economy. We’ll be able to get in on the ground floor again. Those who voted for him will be hurt worst which is a wonderful irony.

For that matter the Bush Administration never really had a majority in the congress in the eight years of its existence. The numbers were too close and consider the three Rinos. Biden says they misread it or were once again fooled by Bush.If this was Reagan or either Bush, the media would be screaming about the jobs lost. Now bring on a second stimulus when 90% of the 1st one has not been spent [as if the earmarks will be of value]. Another example of needed specifics as the president announced saving or creating “jobs?” In the private sector, Mr. President or GOVERNMENT SECTOR?

No words spoken by the president or any member of government can be assumed interpretation. Specifics must be asked on the spot! Whatever the government’s true intention, is spoken broad, so we assume it’s interpretation. Cover-up for government.

Obama says we have created “or saved” _____,000 (fill in the blank) jobs, and no one challenges him to prove it. He makes all sorts of campaign promises and turns them all into lies. He signs the biggest giveaway program in U.S. history, called “Stimulous” legislation (1,100 pages and including 8,500 earmarks) into law within 24 hours of receiving it without having read it. It could have included anything and neither he that signed it, nor the Congress that proposed it, bothered to read it. That is the height of irresponsibility and what does the media have to say aqbout it?

Please, tell us at what point will the Keynsians begin to question their economic beliefs? (remember, economics is not a true science - it’s really more like a religion since it is based on faith)

Will it take 20% unemployment? Failure to turnaround in 4 years? 10 years? Will the entire country have to go bankrupt before you begin to have doubts or will it always be “If only we could have done a bigger stimulus package”.

2 Trillion in bailouts & stimulus should have been enough to employ 8 million people for 4 years. If only we had tried 20 Trillion…

But wait, we’ve only seen about 150,000 jobs by their best estimate from the stimulus. Is it really even possible the government has wasted 80% of the money they rushed into the hands of their patrons?

Stimulus is supposed to generate short term jobs and pay for it later - hopefully from revenues produced from the new industries created from these short term jobs. But the short term jobs are minimal - how are we going to ever pay back 2 trillion on top of the shaky foundation of 150,000 census workers?

A small, constitutionally restrained government is not a new idea but it’s horrifying that neither party has tried it in my lifetime.

These goons really seem to think that the economy will miraculously recover based on some cycle on a chart - they might as well run up some debts now and pay it back later when the magic economic cycle makes everyone rich again. It never occurred to them that the economy actually only “recovers” when private enterprise innovates and finds new ways to get around previous limitations.

It’s entirely possible it will never recover if power mad government officials keep dragging us down.

Isn’t it interesting that the Stimulis I hasn’t been spent yet and will not be until the middle of next year (I believe that Biden stated this). And isn’t it interestng that in 2010 is an election year and that is when the money from Stimulis 1 will be spent! And now congress is talking about Stimulis II as there wasn’t enough money in Stimulis I. They have only spent 10% of Stimulis I, how do they know that it wasn’t enough?
I do believe that the stimulis I & II will be to purchase votes for the 2010 election so as to keep the irresponsible leadership in place to completely destroy the American way of life.
