Second we were fortunate enough to capitalize politically from the awakening councils in Anbar province which we adamantly refused to do under previous commanders who stood by the failed playbook. Don't try to dress this thing up. Iraq is still one of the most dangerous countries on earth and we will be paying a high price for this blunder for decades. It has ruined our military and taken away precious resources from the real fight against extremism world wide and we owe it to our failed leaders in Washington who made this thing possible. This war should have never been fought.
