We need to start building Nuclear plants all across the country. Stimulates jobs, and secures our energy future. Europeans do a lot of stuff wrong, but we ought to be able and look at a country like France and see they got it right with respect Nuclear Power.

Sounds great. What I worry about it is that the environmental extremeists and their trial lawyers could drag this out in courts and make the investment in the plant unattractive. That has been the tactics of the extremists and anti-growth neanderthals.
I would like to see the state of Ohio declare that no lawsuits can be filed to thwart the construction. It must claim state sovereignty.

Here's how France did it. In the 60's, with no oil, no natural gas and little hydro, they decided they did not want to have to be beholden to other countries (near or far) for energy. (What a concept!!!). The government mandated nuclear power. Plants were built, designs were standard, the regulatory and safety and licensing aspects were done right. Today, France enjoys some of the lowest per Kw hour electricity prices in Europe, and is independent from its other European neighbors as far as electricity supply.

It's a matter of priorities, a long term strategic plan, national energy policy and independence, something we don't do well at here in the USA.

If France can get 75% of their [power from nucelar why cant we???
Are the French that much smarter than Americans? I dont think so its just that they dont have the far left crazy environmentalists we have. It is time we shut them up.

We have been sending 700 billion dollars a year to foreigners for oil. Thats 14 million jobs at $50,000 a year in the US if we were not so stupid as to put up with it. If our banks had had all that piling up in their vaults we might never have gotten pushed down on our knees economically by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and their sorry partners in destroying the Amnerican economy.
