The founders wanted the federal government to be completely beholden to the States for its existence. Let the federal government get its money not directly from individuals, but from the States themselves, apportioned as decided by the States' representatives, who are supposed to be acting as agents of the individual states. Direct election of Senators was a BAD idea. Heck, Lynn, I wouldn't even do that at the Federal Level. One page covers the whole tax system. Its just a sales tax, and most of the people in America get a check back from the Feds every month! No more income Tax. No more hidden, excise taxes, production, transprotation, warehousing, etc. taxing. Just one simple sales tax, of which we all, average citizens, get back monthly! Let your Legislatures know that you want this Bill passed, or they will be replaced! Half their seats come up for vote in less that two years, they'll listen! WE ARE THEIR EMPLOYERS! I stopped working 2 jobs as a personal protest to the spending in Washington. They may not have my income any longer. I have enough money saved to pay my expenses until Obama and Congress are replaced. You see, I am fiscally responsible...not rich, just responsible. Every time we some fringe group such as the gay rights groups get their way and get more air play than the traditional American, everytime some drug and alcohol addicted movie star/rock star/ball player is held up as a deacon of our country the rest of the world looks at us as weak, pathetic, unethical and demoralized. It is no wonder that other cultures think of us as the "devil" and work to destroy our culture. Yes, our country will be trash because, outwardly, right now, it looks like trash.
