Got a video camera? Do you want health care reform consistent with limited government principles? Do you want $3,000?
Then you might want to enter the Galen Institute‘s First Do No Harm Video Contest.
Check out this flier for all the rules but quickly; videos will be judged based on quality, creativity and message … and the message Galen is looking for is that big government is not the answer to health care reform. One of the myths Galen wants to see exposed:
Expanding government is the only solution to health care. There are many ideas about how we can reform our health care without exapnding government. For instance, we buy many things from other states – why not health insurance? Or how about providing tax credits to help people buy health insurance that is portable, so they can take it with them from job to job.

What a great idea! If my good looks and deep voice wouldn't give me an unfair advantage over other entrants, I'd give it a shot myself. But I suspect you want entrants who don't earn a living as policy wonks!
Please, let us be fooled by any 'main street jargon' we must stop the spending and shore up the present. We have April 15, 2009 to spring us to recognition. Forget the Republicans, forget the democrates, and lets remember the Americans. Washington ALL has been slinging crap on the walls, just like NAZI Germany did in the early 1930's, for long enough. Let's scrape and wash THEM WALLS CLEAN. Fire them all, as is our civil right, and make America Great.
President Obama has declared that we must control the costs of Social Security and MediCare and MediCaid or they will cause great economic harm. Frankly, he can't control those costs based on the promises the government has made. Until he does so N0 health care from him!
There is no way to even bother with the myth that big Government single payer heath care can 1- provide health care to all Americans. or 2- cotrol costs so as not to bankrupt us completely. BTW, I do not consider a rationing of health care to be health care. I consider that rationing is a failure. Obama fails immeadiately by adopting Tom Daschele's program or anything based on the awful OR rationing plan.
Karl of TX – I cannot wait for the next mid-term elections. If they are in – vote them out.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Democrats:? 19??? Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: ? 580,000??? Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats:? 127 million??? Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2?? Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years. If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.
If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
The outrageous cost of medical healthcare has been created by two sources; (1) government interference with private medical care, and (2) "ambulance chasing" lawyers.
The 40+ years of the Democrat's "war on poverty"(which is no closer to an end as it was when Johnson started it)speaks volumes on the success of socialist plans. Social Security was the first lie, Medicare and Medicade was the second, etc.
The destructive PC movement, the rotting liberal judical system where senseless lawsuits to often see the light of day, and too many silly unwarranted jury liability awards; All have pushed the medical maltreatment insurance out of sight requiring the hiring of additional medical staffers to protect doctors from this financial attacks. Bottom line; the hard working, tax paying citizen pay the bill, no matter the cost.
