  • Tea Party Update: Treasury Event Cancelled by Secret Service

Fox News TV is reporting that the United States Secret Service has cancelled the Tea Party event scheduled for noon at the U.S. Treasury Department and directed event organizers to Lafayette Square where another Tea Party is being held.  The Secret Service are a disciplined group of dedicated law enforcement officials who have an extremely difficult job, so we take them at their word that this was a necessary directive.  However, they should release their reasoning this morning, so there leaves no doubt.  As for people heading down to the event: walk an extra 100 yards and you’ll be in Lafayette Square.

Don't argue with the Secret Service – you will not win! Their job is protection to High Government Officials and they do their job very well! They are not going to argue or discuss anything and no one should think that they should. It's not a job that you mess around on – I've seen them in action first hand and I am amazed at the training they have. They are a fantastic group!

Thinking of all people involved, especially the planners of the Tea Party, thank you all so very much. Do wish I could be there, but I'm certainly there in spirit. This is just a great idea!!

This was a powerful day for Patriots. Americans from all parts of our Great Nation stood their ground today in the best tradition of our forefathers. Don't let the movement linger in idle self-confidence, or allow would be usurpers to lay claim to a spontaneous thrust of Patriotism. It was a good day for Americans. Another good day of meaning would be the Fourth of July.

I would like to see the addition of term limits on Congress and Senate added to the tea party agenda. These elected (?) people no longer seem to understand that they are elected to "work" for us. Two terms is enough time to pad their bank accounts, collect "contributions" and generally wreak havoc on us. Is there anyone willing to get term limits added to a bill to be voted on, or will we all have to chip in and come up with enough cash, since that's all these folks seem to understand anymore?
