About The Heritage Foundation

Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institution—a think tank—whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. We believe the principles and ideas of the American Founding are worth conserving and renewing. As policy entrepreneurs, we believe the most effective solutions are consistent with those ideas and principles.

In the video above, Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) offers support for a bipartisan resolution in the Texas legislature in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.  Governor Perry says:  “I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state.”

    The 10th Ammendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Sounds simple enough! But be careful, Texas! You are going up against the Obama Liberal Administration and they may not like you for that!

The Obama administration and congress are out of control!

And before it is over.Obama and congress will run rough shod over the constitution so many times, without giving it a thought!
People of this country regardless of party need to take a good look at what the federal government is really doing!

I totally support of our governor’s refusal to participate in the Beltway demagogues’ con job. His use of the term “oppression” is absolutely correct. With the Obama administration and congressional majority, it’s only going to get worse. As a Texan, I’ve always stood for states’ rights. Let’s reaffirm (repair) the foundation of our great republic.

I’m proud of Texas and Gov. Perry. Michigan – take note. Compare the Texas economy to ours and then review the policies: there is a correlation. Where there are strong liberal policies, there is strife and misery.

right on Governor Perry ! No need for warnings to us for taking a stand against this president and his administration as he hopefully won’t get
re-elected. The Texas Constitution must be upheld by resisting the grab for power by the president and the federal government!

Considering today’s political climate & the lack of intestinal fortitude, I salute Gov. Perry. He has made a lot of Americans proud that someone isn’t being “politically correct” in regards to the regime in D.C.
