Morning Bell: Not Just a Stereotype

This past Friday the Iowa Supreme Court rewrote the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples. Justifying their rejection of the argument that “the optimal environment for children is to be raised within a marriage of both a father and a mother,” Justice Mark Cady wrote: “The research … suggests that the traditional notion that children need a mother and a father to be raised into healthy adjusted adults is based more on stereotype than anything else.”

First of all, the court is just wrong on the facts. Children whose parents marry and stay married have been found to have better health and are less likely to be depressed, are less likely to repeat a grade in school, and have fewer developmental problems than other children. If poor women who have children out of wedlock were married to the actual fathers of their children, nearly two-thirds would be lifted out of poverty immediately.

But let’s leave the social science aside for a moment. The real story here is the court’s dismissal of the traditional family as a mere stereotype which unmasks the left’s true agenda here: the rejection the nuclear family as the core of civil society. Heritage’s Matthew Spalding explains:

What is happening is no minor adjustment… It does not expand marriage; it alters its core meaning, for to redefine marriage so that it is not intrinsically related to the relationship between fathers, mothers, and children formally severs the institution from its nature and purpose. Expanding marriage supposedly to make it more inclusive, no matter what we call the new arrangement, necessarily ends marriage as we now know it by remaking the institution into something different: a mere contract between any two individuals.

And as the New York Times reported last week, the sanctity of contracts are under assault everywhere. Raising kids today is a challenge even for “stereotypical” mothers and fathers. As mother of three and syndicated columnist Rebecca Hagelin details in her new book, 30 Ways in 30 Days to Save Your Family, often it seems as though popular culture seems to want to turn your children against you. But Hagelin also offers a practical 30-day plan to help all busy moms and dads fight back. 30 Ways in 30 Days to Save Your Family is filled with simple steps that parents can take to help their children become healthy adjusted adults.  Because it isn’t just parents who are hurt by decisions like the one last week in Iowa, it is also our kids who are being bombarded by a contaminated culture.  Lucky for America, Hagelin’s book hits the stores today

I can not say for sure, but I do not think the Constitution gives anyone the right to marry. The courts are supposed to interpit laws, not make them. These justices need to be removed from the bench.
When the Bible is read you can easily see what happened in two instances were same sex morality was justified and put on public dispaly, they were destroyed by God and all in an instant. Do we want the same to happen to us???? I guess the justices have not read the Bible or do not care about the Word of God. All I can say one day we all will stand before Him and confess our sins, and proclaim Him to be the King of Kings.

If we rise up in anger, then we restrict our ability to think clearly on how to correct the problem and eliminate the source of irritation.
As long as we stand back in the shadows and gripe about the situation instead of coming forward, in union, to protest these brazen attempts to sell us out, will we stop the carnage to our country and our people.

You only have to look at the mess that has been imposed by a socialist government with social engineering in the UK to know that the traditional family is the best way to bring up children. Do not copy the bad example of the UK. We now have the highest rate of teenage pregnancies of the whole EU and the highest rate of single parent families who cannot cope with their life in poverty due to their chosen lifestyles of expecting government to supply housing because of their children. It is too late to find after the birth that government does not have any housing. Government is to blame in the UK for the social engineering imposed to gain extra votes. This has helped to cause the problems. This is no way to run a country!

Same-sex couples can moan and groan about being faulted for being a same-sex couple. It is a bargain they make, just like the bargain woman and man make. Living together with children is not ‘the Bird Cage’. It is hell and usually, it is asked for and planned for. A woman brings certain distinct traits to the child, as does a male.

If the state thinks it must be involved, I suggest the state get out of the marriage control game and leave that to the churches. If the state must exact some kind of fee for licensing, let that licensing be for civil unions that cover both sides of the relationship issue.

Obama has agreed to sign the UN human rights treaty.

A few tid bits in this horrible United Nations human rights treaty:
1. The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent.
2. A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision.
3. Teaching children about Christianity in schools has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC. Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
4. Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

**”Where the child has a right fulfilled by the government, the responsibilities shift from parents to the government,” Farris said. “The implications of all this shifting of responsibilities is that parents no longer have the traditional roles of either being responsible for their children or having the right to direct their children.”

This is just the beginning, you can go to the UN web site to research the whole treaty.

As support for this critisism, the author cites a study that finds “Children whose parents marry and stay married have been found to have better health and are less likely to be depressed, are less likely to repeat a grade in school, and have fewer developmental problems than other children.” If the original poster were intellectually honest, he or she would realize that the cited study actually SUPPORTS the Supreme Court’s decision, which also concluded that MARRIED coupled serve the optimal environment for raising children. Since gays & lesbians will continue to raise children in Iowa regardless whether they can legally marry, then those CHILDREN are better served if their parents are in loving, stable, legally-protected marriages. The court was thinking of the CHILDREN, not your bigotted notions that by denying gays and lesbian families the same legal rights you enjoy, that such discrimination somehow helps the children. No, it is your hateful attitudes that is harmful to the children, not the fact that such families can now marry. Please, think of the CHILDREN and READ the Iowa decision before spreading more lies.

The entire government needs to be over-thrown–top to bottom by reformers who will be committed to the Constitution which none of our elected officials are–NONE. We are going the way of every other powerful empire in history. Every one became corrupt from within–making them vulnerable and eventually obsolete through a outside power that popped the ballon veneer. As I see it–there is no hope for this country outside of a full-blown revolution in the streets. That is not a pessimistic approach. It is a realistic one. Outside of a revolution that completely overthrows this corrupt government we now have–it is only a matter of time before we are under the rule of a dictator (a very, very short time). I am grateful I will probably be dead by then–but I am so, so sad for what my children and grandchildren will suffer. In 62 years I have never made a public statement in writing or otherwise regarding the demise of this once great country. Now it is axiomatic. Current events are the reality. The power-brokers know exactly where they are going. The clear-thinking are crying out. And the majority (the real power-base in this country) have stuck their heads in the sand–unwilling to think for themselves, they ‘follow’ the empty words of so-called eloquent orators.

In nature there is no waste and no defying nature without consequences, and yet man wastes by defying nature, suffers the consequences, and denies them as such.
Examples: Piranhas have incisors for eating meat; cattle have molars for eating vegetation; the tangible and intangible features of both our nearest genetic relatives, chimpanzees, and us humans are purposely and specifically designed and meant for heterosexual purposes such as reproducing and raising our own offspring, and, as even nature shows, the law of nature is that anyone who defies nature will somehow suffer the consequences of doing so, whether any of us humans acknowledge or deny them as such or not.

Alas, indeed it is in this case some humans, such as those on the Left who imagine themselves so “smart” that they outsmart ourselves in their defiance of nature, denial of their doing so, the consequences of that, and even their exacerbating of the situation through their perpetrating and propagating, through Leftist activist judges when they can’t do so through citizen initiatives and/or legislation, etc, that any or all of us condone such defiance of nature, and even pay, in the form of our freedoms, resources, and more, for the consequences of their doing so.

Indeed the Left does, such as in this case, insist that “same sex” defiance of nature is “perfectly natural”, deny any consequences of any kind as such, and not only insist as if we all should condone and pay, but they will evidently also dismiss anything to the contrary as a mere so-called “stereotype”.

However, our Founding Fathers, such as Thomas Jefferson said: “A free people claim their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate”, yet the Left calls us the “dangerous” ones with the “unnatural” idea and seeking to impose it, when even the facts and laws of nature show they are the ones with the unnatural idea and determination to impose it by any means, including through Leftist activist judges who will act as if to overrule both the facts and laws of nature and the will of the people, for any excuse including the naturally unfounded and bankrupt excuse of labeling anything to the contrary as a mere so-called “stereotype”.

Of course, by doing so, those on the Left and their activist judges are propagating and promoting the patently Leftist government elitist and statist “ends justifies the means” agenda, even when it means making subversive hypocrites of themselves by defying nature and overruling the people through any means available to them. This includes their machinations to get judges to act as if they “overrule” through any opinion which is agreeable to such an agenda, all of which ought to be familiar to us from history to this day since other Socialist government elitist and statist regimes and oligarchies, such as those of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, their “courts”, and others, all acted and act only too similarly, which goes to show how “Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it”, and so again that is indeed what we’re up against.

The last time in history that same-sex
relationships were recognized as being
“OK” was in the time of Noah… This stuff
is just one of MANY SIGNS letting those of
us who know and love Him that it won’t be
long before God pours out his wrath upon
the USA and the world at large.

Our best and ONLY hope is to trust in Him,
and to be about His business by spreading
the Gospel to as many as we can. When we
plant the seeds, God alone will provide
the increase!! (AND - He will reward us
in heaven for doing His will for us!) It
can’t get any better than that!!!
