Obanma is out in the cold, as well as the rest of thedems. We can not spend our way out of this debt. We need to stop and think, but then the liberals do not have this capacity.

Where is President Obama? This bill is written by the Dems without thought of Bipartisanship or Americans....It's changes are only upward despite the cut of monies for schools.

Nothing is better that 'something that might work???'..and is admittedly a 'spending bill' certainly with no thought of 'now'.

Does anyone recall that the stock market was at 14000 when the dems took over Congress? Barney, Chris, Harry, and Nancy turned that around just like they will turn around this? What gross incompetence!

Bipartisan has been redefined as you state your opinions then we will do it my way.

All sane Senators must stop this bill. I have and will not have enough money to pay for it! The Democrates spent 800 million dollars to gain control and the reality has hit home and needs to be "changed." I asked for none of this and I still will be expected to pay for it? No way!

Welcome to The United Socialist States Of America (U.S.S.A.) A lot of you voted for it, so enjoy.

Let's see, we will need a new flag. I know, how about a map of the old U.S. with a large "X" through it on a field of black and the words "Marxism Forever" across the bottom.

We will also need to get rid of The Statue Of Liberty. Wonder if we can send it back from whence it came? France can't afford it? No worries...let's just pass another "stimulus" bill to bail out France, then send that pesky symbol of freedom back to them.
Works for me!!!

The TARP bail out and the stimulus package are the result of democratic zealots that are still sitting in Congress. Who is at fault for causing this? Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac? How about those who sit on the House Banking and Finance Committee who claim that they did not see any indication that these corporate mortgage companies were in financial peril. They should be in prison for their part in the housing collapse. They help because one of the greatest economic turmoil’s in U.S. history. Congressional hypocrisy is running out of control and there is no accountability. Why are Congressional members exempt from culpability? Any other would be in prison for life for causing such a catastrophe. The government is becoming too powerful and is ignoring we the people and that cannot stand! We need to reinstitute traditional conservative values and rid our political system of secular progressiveness!

Well, 60 million and change voted for "Change". I guess they are going to get it. I just hope we can all live with it, and survive as a free nation.
These latest comments by the President really shouldn't come as any surprise. He is doing exactly what his past record and professed beliefs (professed long before the campaign and conveniently kept quiet during the campaing of course) suggested he would do. Government spending and government programs created this whole mess. And no the Republicans are not blameless. When the Liberalcrats pushed for housing reform and pushed to force the banks (Fannie and Freddie in particular) to give mortgages to people who had no business borrowing money, the Republicans caved and went along. But even though they went along, they did not create this mess. For the President to attempt to put all the blame on the Republicans is absolutely ludicrous. And to spin their resistance to the Pelosi-Reid-Obama Liberal dream bill as "politics as usual", and "not what the people voted for" is an example of his real definition of "bipartisan". As in "everyone just go along with what I want, 'cause I won". Why were the House Republicans kept completely out of the process? Because the Liberalcrats "won" so they "get to decide".
To continue to push a "stimulus plan" that has absolutely nothing to do with stimulating anything but government control and interference is just mind-boggling. And then to whine when people point out the blatant "pork" spending is typical liberal garbage.
The Congressional Budget Office has even said this bill will do NOTHING to help the economy, but is MORE likely to hurt it even more. But they continue to push, and try and ram it through before any more of the garbage in it can be pointed out to the American people.
Why? It's all about control. People who are on the receiving end of the pork will never vote away their free handouts. They'll get used to the easy money, until the country collapses because there is no more to give.
This situation is not only ridiculous, it is downright scary. How much liberty are people really willing to give away in the hopes that they might get some free government handout? And the scariest part is how many people have absolutely no idea what is really in this bill. All they know is what they see the President say in the liberal media.
If anyone who truly believes in what America is and stands for has not yet contacted their Senators and Congressmen, NOW IS THE TIME! Let them know what you think. Both of my Senators are Dems, no question of how they are going to vote. But I've called and written repeatedly anyway, just to make sure they know what I think. The only way our government will ever again be a "government for the people, by the people" is if WE the people DEMAND it. Not just at election time, but every time they debate an issue, every time they vote on legislation. And then at election time, WE hold them accountable.

If you listened to "Uncle Bama" address his troops at the Democrat retreat, he clearly said that this is not a Stimulus Bill-It is a "spending bill." They can't account for 78 billion (more or less) in the first TARP bailout and now they are proposing spending untold millions - or billions (whose counting)? on the next! I recall someone once said, "A billion here- a billion there-pretty soon it adds up to real money."

Let me get this straight. We must spend more when we don't have the money so that more people will find jobs! Majority of spending is for ACORN, STD, Moving offices, etc. Are we that stupid to buy this crap? Our debt exceeds $10 Trillion (=$33,333 for every citizen)without counting all the entitlement liabilities.
We have to borrow that $1Trillion stimulus money or print more dollars. Either way, we are going to end up in more economic misery. This is not Republican or Democrat issue. The politicians have found a way to grab all the power and tyrannize us. Wake up. The US is well on its way to be a full-fledged fascist state.
Writing to the Congressmen or calling their offices to protest is not going to matter as they loudly proclaim that they had won. We need a visible and unforgettable eruption of common and hard-working American citizens. That is the only way the politicians will be willing to give up power. We must not stop until the government teeth are all pulled out and our Constitution is restored. US is a country of free people with a government and is not a government with people.

I have a novel Idea. How about we cut The current Stimulous bill in half. We then give it a year to see if it works. If it does we'll know once and for all the Democrats were right and Republicans are full of it, and the other half of the original bill is automaticaly phased in. However if the package doesn't work, (MY Bet) the republicans will take over all committees in the House and Senate for the remainder of Obamas term!
