Garbage In, Garbage Out II: Climate Modeling

The economy is not the only policy area where the left has slapped some lines of code together and are attempting to pass it off as reality. As Al Gore’s testimony today on Capitol Hill reminds us, global warming would not exist as an issue without the left’s blind devotion to computer modeling. But as Retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist, Dr. John Theon tells the Senate’s Environment and Public Works minority subcommittee, climate modeling is not all that it claims to be:
My own belief concerning anthropogenic climate change is that the models do not realistically simulate the climate system because there are many very important sub-grid scale processes that the models either replicate poorly or completely omit. Furthermore, some scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results. In doing so, they neither explain what they have modified in the observations, nor explain how they did it. They have resisted making their work transparent so that it can be replicated independently by other scientists. This is clearly contrary to how science should be done. Thus there is no rational justification for using climate model forecasts to determine public policy.

Climate modeling is not science. It does not even fit the rudimentary requirement of an engineering model of a controlled space.
The models are bogus. For starters, they set aside solar effects as unimportant. Excuse me. What else drives our planet?
The models are open ended and do not close of conservation of energy.
